List of ToyMakerz episodes

[edit]

Please see my comment at Draft:List of ToyMakerz episodes; I think it might be better to merge this information with ToyMakerz, rather than create a separate page. See WP:MERGE. If you have any questions, you can ask me on my talk page or ask another volunteer at the Teahouse. Thanks! — Bilorv (talk) 09:24, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Change Andy Yu to disambiguation section.

[edit]

Instead of having Andy Yu as a redirect page, change Andy Yu to a disambiguation page. Then both the investor and the actor would have pages. The actor only had a supporting role in a small show while the investor is ranked as one of the top young investors in the USA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The1337leet (talkcontribs) 03:23, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@The1337leet: I have no problem with that, but keep WP:RS and WP:V including WP:BLP in mind. Disambiguation pages are only created if you have reliable sources for at least two people. (And no, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook or the subjects own websites are not accepted, because they are not independent.) Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 04:51, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thx for your welcome message

[edit]

Hi Victor Schmidt mobil, thank you for your kind welcome message. As a newbie here I'm still getting used to the UX and processes. As a German wikipedia user I had already a verified account https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benutzer:MarcosFernandezMETROAG and I was not aware that contributing to wikipedia pages in other countries a new user page is needed.. I added my "About me" description to my English page > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MarcosFernandezMETROAG I updated the article https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olaf_Koch_(Manager) that was reviewed by German wikipedians. Afterwards, I figured out there is no correct English version available for this article, instead there was a redirect to an article about the company the person is working for.

Well, I researched a couple of online news as reliable sources to the article about Olaf Koch from independant publishers with significant coverage like Reuters, Bloomberg, Financial Times and European Supermarket Magazine. I am quite surprised about the feedback "This article needs additional citations for verification. (August 2019)".

What can I do in order to improve the article? Many thx in advance for any suggestions. MarcosFernandezMETROAG (talk) 14:41, 30 August 2019 (UTC)MarcosFernandezMETROAG[reply]

@MarcosFernandezMETROAG: I don't have a clear suggestion here, but you can talk to the person who added the tag. You can use the page history for this, simply check the "Diff"-Links. If you don't want to create a userpage in every project, you can create a global one at meta:User:MarcosFernandezMETROAG. The global userpage will be transcended when no local one exists. This account is a classic example: Here on onwiki you yust see the transcluded global userpage, but if you go over to the German Wikipedia, you see a customized version there. One last point, there is no need to call {{Help me}} if you leave a message here. If you don't get a timely response, you can send me a so-called "wikimail" via Special:EmailUser/Victor Schmidt mobil. See Wikipedia:Emailing users for more information on this MediaWiki-Feature. Broken

[edit]

I am exiled from media. I don't know what I'm doing here. I feel like I'm a lost cause. I've lost 4 years worth of beautiful global friendships to an over zealous media gang who claim to connect the world. But disconnecting me from my community. I say gang because the big four media outlets ganged up on me at the same time. I know this isn't a social site. But I need to write my concerns about this down somewhere. Thank you for your greetings Lachlan Cryer 4.0 (talk) 06:31, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of DB547 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Unnecessary changes

[edit]

I dont understand why you would delete what I wrote when it was all facts. Peppermint.co (talk) 10:16, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Peppermint.co: Please see WP:TRUTH. Wikipedia doesnt want to use what some persons says on the internet, Wikipedia wants to be verifiable, i.e. It must be always clear where the information came from. We cant realy take your word for it, as [[On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dogYou never know who is on the other end of the network cable]]. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 10:20, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

are you calling me a dog? i’ve read multiple articles discussing the ideas stated. they were not mine. but i do not appreciate being called a dog Peppermint.co (talk) 10:21, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lets use a different wording, that wasn't the best one. But it still stands, we cant take the word of people that say "its true" (and neither we do for people that say "its not true" when they add something, for obvivios reasons). Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 10:25, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

agree to disagree? i hope you are well. but please do not call me a dog again. an apology would be appreciated Peppermint.co (talk) 10:31, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Raeven Kelly page

[edit]

What changes were you making to my page? MrsDinwoodie (talk) 16:58, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@MrsDinwoodie: First of all, it's not your page, at most its Wikipedia's page about Rae'Ven Larrymore Kelly. I have undone the latest two of your edits, resetting the article to the state before those two edits, because they did not conform to Wikipedia's Verfifiability-Policy. this is a difference showing the changes in your two edits that I have undone. Please note that the rules for Biographys of living persons are even stricter than the rules for articles not about a libing person. If you are affilated with the subject in any way, please read about Conflict of Interest. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 17:07, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Victor,my dear... Please Google my full married name RaéVen Kelly Dinwoodie As I understand it's Wikipedia's page. I know the correct info to post since it is their page about ME. I just updated it to include info on my family and organizations I've volunteered for in the past. I appreciate your contributions, Victor and I only ask that you not edit my personal information as it pertains to my bio here.

I welcome you or Wikipedia to contact me personally at Raevenkelly@gmail.com to further verify my identity with my agents and attorneys, if needed. Warm Regards, RaéVen Kelly Dinwoodie (aka RaéVen A'Lyia Larrymore Kelly) :) MrsDinwoodie (talk) 17:31, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You aren't expect me to check each Google result? Wikipedia editors aren't going to do the work for you, as most of them (including me) do that in their (sometimes rare) free time. I see that you reinserted your changes, which shows to me that you haven't read about WP:COI so far, as 1) there is a disclosure to make. Wikipedia:FAQ/Article subjects may also be of interest. 2) You edited the page directly, and I dont see how the COi rules are met for that. And then we have the sourcing Issiues. The WP:BURDEN to bring sources is on the person that adds the information, not on the one that questions it. As for verification, this could be done, for example in the way outlined here but this will not resolve the sourcing issiue. Thats because while I generally trust you to tell the truth in that case, such methods can easely be abused to have a biography on oneself that is "better" than the reality. I am not saying that you would do that, and I'm generally happy that I never noticed such a case during my time at Wikipedia, but we can't take that risk. I know that its also possible to abuse/fake newspaper articles, but it's far harder. I am going to revert you one more time now. As a COI editor, you are expected to do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies. Please be adivised that even if I dont revert you, the next editor will be. Somdutta Singh

[edit]

Is the Somdutta Singh page approved? Fayssaloss (talk) 22:06, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Fayssaloss: no, probbably not. The question is, why did you recreate this after Somdutta Singh (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Somdutta Singh, which was less than a month ago, effectively ignoring the advice of 4 users one of them being an admin? I've took another look at the article, and it appears that most of the sources are either affilated with the subject and/or not regarded as reliable.Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 05:38, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
