Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, WikiReub, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Ziying Zhou, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hi, I worked on the article for Ziying Zhou as a personal initiative and ensured proper licensing for an image, which I uploaded with the subject's permission. The image has since been removed by another editor, and I’ve decided not to re-upload it for now.
The COI tag was added with concerns about a promotional tone and the image being provided by the subject. However, I’ve clarified on Wikishovel’s talk page that I don’t have any professional or financial connection to Ziying and created the article purely out of interest. The article has also been cleaned up significantly since.
Could someone review the page and let me know if the COI tag can now be removed?
Thank you for your time and help! WikiReub (talk) 21:12, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My suggestion is to give Wikishovel a week to respond at User talk:Wikishovel#Clarification Regarding the Ziying Zhou Article—in case Wikishovel has Thanksgiving (United States) obligations. If you don't hear anything, go to the conflict-of-interest noticeboard and say, "Please see User talk:Wikishovel#Clarification Regarding the Ziying Zhou Article and reply there!" That keeps the discussion all in one place, so you don't have to keep repeating yourself. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 00:57, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Great! I'll do that. Thank you @Rotideypoc41352 WikiReub (talk) 14:09, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ziying Zhou moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Ziying Zhou. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Wikishovel (talk) 00:44, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that's better! I'll come back to this later when I can find better sources. In the meanwhile I'll just help with some other articles and learn more about how things work here. Thanks again @Wikishovel for the advice and help! WikiReub (talk) 09:52, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
