Discussion
[edit]- What do you mean by "fix banners"? —Reedy Boy 21:35, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, it adds the |class= to the banners. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 23:15, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It could also add |importance= or |priority= to one. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 23:23, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- How will it determine what class it is? Soxred93 has a boring sig 23:24, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It won't. It only adds the "|class=" part. The determining will have to be done manually, but it aids in getting articles classed quickly. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 23:26, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- What is the advantage to that? Soxred93 has a boring sig 23:29, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It should allow the tagging to be done much faster. I am currently in the middle of tagging with a lot of other contributers, and it would be easier if we just had to add the class that it was, rather than the entire thing. I could also add some extra script for determining what class it should be, only up to Start and Stub. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 23:31, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Just to let you know, those seem to be two different tasks up there now. To fufil both of them, you should probably try 2 different requests. They both seems ok requests, though. Soxred93 has a boring sig 23:53, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I will put it into two different requests then. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 23:57, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- If this is for a specific project, then it probably shouldn't be when you think it needs it. If you want this done as soon as possible, it should be either one time, daily, or something else. Fix this, and I'll approve. Soxred93 has a boring sig 00:04, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- This task is part of the same - Ie its adding the class= and priority/importance= to the same template. So this is fine and allowed. I've already given AWB approval... (Note, not approval to start tagging) Are you using it with the Kingbotk plugin? Also, it is sorta ASAP, but doesnt matter... So thats fine... —Reedy Boy 10:33, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I was thinking of using it, but if it can't be used, I'll try something else. Probably Perl. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 20:54, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- The Kingbotk plugin can add the basic extra parameters very easily.. Much more robust than trying to write it yourself from scratch... —Reedy Boy 21:34, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Ah, indeed, I will use that. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 22:12, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Reedy Boy, if you look at the history, there was another unrelated task added, and then removed after I posted by comment above. Regrading this, if you use Kingbotk, it will likely work. 15 edits should suffice, so without further ado... Approved for trial (15 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Soxred93 has a boring sig 03:41, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It won't work, should I withdraw? Only two edits worked. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 02:17, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Never mind... I figured it out... Withdrawn. <DREAMAFTER><TALK> 23:28, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
