Wikipedia:Protected titles/Historical list of titles/XRumer spambot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
XRumer software is apparently the black hat SEO tool of choice for many spammers. It may create pages with titles that end in index.php or / (forward slash) or contain a concatenation of valid page names, such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems/enwiki/w/w/enwiki/w/index.php. So far all such pages have been in the various talk namespaces. If any such page matches the above description list it here. All other page titles to be salted go into the current month's list. For more information on dealing with XRumer look here.

Sysops: To ensure protection against creation, please delete pages before adding their titles to the list or purge this page's cache immediately following the deletions.

With the new ProtectedTitles extension installed, this method of salting pages has been made obsolete. I've individually protected each of the pages that was listed here. east.718 at 12:57, December 28, 2007
