Nomination
[edit]ddbruce (talk · contribs) – I, ddbruce, may be a relatively new user; however, I have the covet to do all I can to maintain Wikipedia. To me, Wikipedia is a technological marvel, providing anyone with internet access a source for good, clean information. I have always felt this way; conversing with friends, somebody might say that Wikipedia is not credible. I know it generally is, and although at times it may not be, this is the reason I would like to become a sysop. Ddbruce (talk) 03:10, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: When I become an administrator, I intend to help new users become familiar with Wikipedia, fix problems that may come up during normal use, and keep a watchful eye out for any foul play.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: I believe my best contributions are my Milford High School page, as well as my fixing of typographical and grammatical errors.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Yes, once I noticed that the DMS-59 article was vandalized. Twice, actually. I reverted the vandalism and left a message on the vandal's user page. Once, also, I created an article for an actor who was in a Windows 7 commercial, and it got recommended for speedy deletion. I realized what I did wrong, and have not done it since.

I recommend the candidate withdraw this nomination, and spend some time reading various RFA-related pages to get an idea of what the community generally expects an admin to know before assuming this role. Townlake (talk) 03:46, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose
[edit]- Oppose, with Moral Support, not nearly enough experience...plus a copyright violation on your talk page. No work in admin-related areas. I'm glad to help you with any questions you may have, and encourage you to come back after gaining some more experience. Dont be discouraged! I did this same thing when I had recently joined Wikipedia. I hope to see you back here someday with tons of experience and good admin-area work. A8x (talk) 03:36, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per not now. Sorry but with only about 125 edits you are nowhere near ready enough to become an admin. Mauler90 talk 03:35, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, WP:NOTNOW. Lack of experience. -Reconsider! 03:48, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Lack of experience overall & no edits to admin related areas. Jarkeld (talk) 03:50, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, but you're off to a good start. Additionally, admin tools are not necessary to perform the tasks for which you are requesting them. Just go ahead and do it. -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 03:53, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - this nomination should be closed on the grounds of WP:NOTNOW, user isn't experienced enough. Dwayne was here! ♫ 03:54, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose WP:NOTNOW/poor answers to the standard questions. Beeblebrox (talk) 04:22, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, would like to see some more experience and better answers to questions. -- Cirt (talk) 04:50, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral
[edit]- I don't want to add another Oppose vote, so I'm just going to comment here that I applaud your enthusiasm, but you really need to read WP:NOTNOW, and look through some previous unsuccessful and successful RFAs to understand the high levels of contribution and experience editors expect to see in an Admin candidate. Certainly, further down the road, I'm sure you could be a good candidate, but in the meantime I echo the recommendation above that you should withdraw this for now.
