[edit]Wilbysuffolk (talk · contribs) – Hello, I want to become an admin because I have done 2,200 edits and have got 16 pages made by me which are working. I can speak English well and I live in Suffolk. I have made a French account which has made a page so far and I have many more accounts on diffrent languages. I have been on wikipedia since the 30th September 2010. I have explored wikipedia and I am trying to make a wikiproject. I have know about deleting and I am regualy looking at the new page patrol page. I have never been banned or even done anythink so I have been warned about being baned therefore you can trust me with admin controls. I try and help any new users in any way. This is the 1st request I have put forward. I hope this infomation has helped you and I hope you will let me be an admin. Wilbysuffolk (talk) 03:15, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to keep on helping the deletion sector still and will move on to the merging of pages.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best will be my List of bus routes in Central Suffolk. It was the first page I did and I made me learn so much about wikipedia.
It was a good page but It has got a lot small due to the horrible cuts on Suffolk transport. This page was not my best but it set me up to wikipedia.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Yes, I have. A few weeks ago I had been blocked because I was a suspected sock puppet of Crouch swale. I delt with the matter straight away and with help I managed to get un-blocked. The admin thought I was a sock puppet because Crouch Swale is a place so is Wilbysuffolk. I contacted an admin and the blocker and told them about the stuff I edited compared with crouch swale and won therefore getting un-blocked. Have a look at my block log which shows the admins notes.

Oppose
[edit]- Oppose, unfortunately. It seems most of your article creations are entirely unreferenced, and a quick look at your talk page shows numerous recent misunderstandings about how the project works. I believe mentoring would be helpful; I encourage you to consider seeking a mentor who can help show you the ropes a bit. 28bytes (talk) 05:51, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Opppose, I'm afraid I must agree with 28bytes above. I am impressed by your energy for Wikipedia, and I appreciate your desire to help out with admin tasks, but I can't support now from what I've seen. To name a specific example, I feel that your AfD/FFD votes suggest that you don't have a deep understanding of the notability policies here yet, that comes with time and discussion, and can't be rushed. I hope you will consider mentoring as 28bytes suggests, and I hope to see you here again someday. --joe deckertalk to me 06:18, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per 28bytes and Joe Decker. I am sorry that I can't support you, but your contributions show a lack of understanding of vital policies. I agree with 28bytes' suggestion to get a mentor. Also, taking a Editor Review couldn't hurt. — Oli OR Pyfan! 08:05, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose as above. I'm afraid you just don't appear to have enough experience in the areas you've worked, let alone the areas you haven't. Also, answer 3 is troubling given the "winning/losing" stance, which isn't really appropriate. I'm sure there was I would suggest you carry on as you are for another 6-12 months, get a feel for more areas of wikipedia. You're doing a great job, and you may well be an admin one day. If you'd like some mentor like help, let me know. I'm a bit busy to actually take you on as a mentee, but I'd be happy to offer any assistance I can WormTT · (talk) 08:11, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose. Wilbysuffolk is an enthusiastic editor. However he says that his best contribution is "List of bus routes in Central Suffolk". The article contains no in-line references at all. Indeed the section "References" includes variations to the regular bus timetable. Wilbysuffolk's CSD A1 tagging of "Level 26: Dark Prophecy" is incorrect. Wilbysuffolk gave no reason for his proposed deletion of "Kimberly Proctor". As above, I also recommend a mentor. Axl ¤ [Talk] 09:09, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Simply not enough experience, at the present time, for me to feel comfortable handing this candidate the mop. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 10:36, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose. I am definitely concerned about the lack of experience, but also, a quick look at X!'s edit counter shows 35% of all the user's edits are to the Userspace, mostly to his userpage. This number is abnormally large, especially as the percentage of mainspace edits is only just above it. "Pepper" 10:44, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose, As above - keep at it and come back in 12 months Brookie :) - he's in the building somewhere! (Whisper...) 10:59, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
