Westfield Galleria at Roseville, anteriormente conocido como Galleria at Roseville es un centro comercial operado por The Westfield Group, localizado en Roseville, California, Estados Unidos.
Historia[2]
Originalmente, se había construido un centro comercial en la ciudad vecina Rocklin. Despues de un largo y tedioso proceso, los planes fueron cancelados, y se decidió construirse en Roseville. El 25 de junio de 1995, se aprobO una fase de un centro comercial con tres tiendas anclas. El 25 de octubre de 1998, se aprobó otra fase completa para un centro comercial en el que tendria cuatro tiendas anclas, entre ellas Nordstrom. Galleria at Roseville fue construido en 2000 por Urban Retail Properties, Inc., con las tiendas anclas de Macy's, Nordstrom, JCPenney y Sears. A finales del año 2000, Urban fue adquirida pro Rodamco North America, N.V, una compañía inmobiliaria de los Países Bajos. El centro comercial fue vendido después a The Westfield Group en 2002 con la disolución de Rodamco. Durante ese tiempo el centro comercial se llamaba "Westfield Shoppingtown Galleria at Roseville." Lawsuit
Peter P. Bollinger Investment Co. filed a $60 million lawsuit against the Galleria, alleging that it gave out confidential information and made false statements about their shopping center, The Fountains. Westfield was considering a joint partnership, but then pulled out of the deal in November. Bollinger alleged that Westfield gave The Fountains tenants better deals to locate to the new expansion under way at the Galleria. Tenants in question are: Stride Rite, Cheesecake Factory, Smith & Hawken, Ecco, Eurowalk, and West Elm.[4] Since the lawsuit was filed, Cheesecake Factory has signed and opened at the Galleria, West Elm and Smith & Hawken have signed and opened at The Fountains, and Stride Rite has signed with the Galleria. Bollinger has hinted that he has been unable to sign Ecco and Eurowalk due to the numerous delays at The Fountains. The status of Stride Rite is unknown, but real estate sources say they will be opening at the Galleria. The lawsuit was dropped in August 2007 and relations between the 2 centers appear to be better.
Sacramento Capitals
The Sacramento Capitals tennis team has announced that the Galleria will be the new home for the Allstate Stadium in 2007. They are committed to at least five years at the new stadium. The World Team Tennis Championships will also be held at the Galleria. The stadium holds up to 5,000 spectators. Plans are to expand the facility to accommodate 10,000 spectators in the near future. For the 2007 season, the Capitals starred Anna Kournikova and guest player Lyndsey Davenport. [5] The Sacramento Capitals won the World Team Tennis 2007 championship on their home court in Roseville in front of over 4,000 fans. Allstate Stadium was once again chosen to host the championships for the 2008 season.
