75 years have passed since the end of the Great Patriotic War. In 2020 Russian Federation celebrates the 75-th anniversary of the Victory against fascism.

On 22 June 1941, Nazi Germany started invasion of the Soviet Union. The blitzkrieg (Gem.) of Hitler was Operation Barbarossa supposing fast liquidation of the USSR. Supporters of fascism set a lot of concentration camps. But mass mobilization of Soviet people and reconstruction of industrial enterprises began.
In December 1941 the Reichstag`s (Gem.) Operation Typhoon failed and the attack on Moscow was defeated. Soviet people became morally stronger.
Since October 1941 to July 1942 Sevastopol has been devastated by fascists, it was heroically defended by Soviet soldiers and local peaceful people. These vital and strategically important battles are commemorized in Diorama of Sevastopol.
23 August 1942 – 2 February 1943 became a crucial time for Stalingrad where Pavlov`s House is an eternal monument of “such values as selflessness, patriotism, love for their home, their family and Fatherland” (V. Putin)
900-day siege of Leningrad took up to 1,5 million of lives. This War took lives of 27 million people of the USSR. “The National Interest” published an article by Putin “The Real Lessons of the 75th Anniversary of World War II” in which he writes that Russians celebrate this holiday because “We have a responsibility to our past and our future to do our utmost to prevent those horrible tragedies from happening ever again.
There are many sources to remember it. Russian State Military Archives creates documentary films, сollections on war epic topics. Archives of Ministry of Defence contains 10,951,948 official records about the War. The Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow has a Hall of Remembrance and Reconciliation where 2,600 million crystals are hanging from the ceiling like tears of mothers. There is Monument “The Tragedy Of Peoples” on Poklonnaya Hill.
Peoples all over the world are united by the Immortal Regiment movement when thousands of families go to parade and carry the portraits of their great-grandfathers and grandmothers died for the sake of future generations.
