History
Founded in October, 1946, Shanghai Zhenru High School, later to be renamed Shanghai Yan'an High School in July 1954, was built in Zhenru Township, Jiading County. After the war and the liberation of Shanghai in May 27th, 1949, the school decided to move to No. 601, West Yan'an Road. At that time, the school included both high school and middle school department until the high school department moved to the current campus in 1998, leaving the middle school part still at the old campus. The middle school part was thus renamed as Shanghai East Yan'an Middle School, since the old campus is in the east of the current one. In 2002, the middle school part was again given the original name, Shanghai Yan'an Middle School, and the two departments were again in unity with each other. In 2006, Shanghai Yan'an High School opened its International Department, starting to enroll international students.
