白斑軍艦鳥（學名：Fregata ariel）為軍艦鳥科軍艦鳥屬的鳥類。廣佈於印度洋至太平洋中部以及南美洲東岸，[2]多棲息於海島以及築巢於樹上。該物種的模式產地在太平洋的雷恩島。[3]
亞種
- Fregata ariel ariel，分佈自印度洋中部至太平洋中部。[4]
- Fregata ariel iredalei，1914年由澳洲鳥類學家Gregory Mathews命名，[5]分佈於印度洋西部。[4]
- Fregata ariel trinitatis，1919年由巴西動物學家Alípio de Miranda-Ribeiro命名，[6]分佈於大西洋西南部，可能已經絕種。[4][7]
外貌描述
白斑軍艦鳥為黑色大型海鳥，翼長而尖,尾深叉。該鳥喙長，呈鈎狀[8]。繁殖季的雄鳥為棕黑色，頭頸部、肩胛和上背部有藍、綠或紫色光澤，瞳孔和鳥喙為暗棕色，翅膀下有一月牙形白斑，喉囊為明紅色，腿為粉色。雌鳥同樣大體為棕黑色，但全身無光澤，胸部和前腰腹部有一大片延伸至後頸部的白斑，肩胛的覆羽邊緣亦為白色，眼眶周圍有粉紅色的裸露皮膚，鳥喙為藍黑色或粉紅色[9]
