Thank you for your edits. Please consider: [[Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars]]. [[User:Paul Barlow|Paul B]] ([[User talk:Paul Barlow|talk]]) 09:01, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

What template? I didn't use a template. Are you a regular? If so, then it is high time to preview, group, and summarize edits. [[User:Hu|Hu]] ([[User talk:Hu#top|talk]]) 05:19, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

:It's high time you get off your high horse and read the link provided. It means don't patronise regular editors with platitudes. You used a set of mechanical cliches, which is the equivalent of a template. If you want to read the total changes of a group of edits it is very easy to do so. I often have difficuly copy-editing in edit space, so often only notice spelling errors and the like when posted. Because of the computer I use it is easy to lose edits is not posted quickly. I do not appreciate my talk page being stuffed with patronising comments. [[User:Paul Barlow|Paul B]] ([[User talk:Paul Barlow|talk]]) 08:10, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
:Also, since your little homily is presented apropos of nothing, it's not even any use. [[User:Paul Barlow|Paul B]] ([[User talk:Paul Barlow|talk]]) 08:13, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

It is not a platitude to ask an editor, regular or otherwise, to use the tools provided so that editors can quickly determine which edits are likely to problematic, or which edits in a problematic set of edits are likely to be the cause. You have no need to get angry. If you have a computer problem, just explain without getting upset. [[User:Hu|Hu]] ([[User talk:Hu#top|talk]]) 17:12, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

==[[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|Proposed deletion]] of [[Clifford Geary]]==

The article [[Clifford Geary]] has been [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed for deletion]]&#32; because of the following concern:
:<b>A search for references failed to find significant coverage in [[WP:RS|reliable sources]] to comply with [[WP:N|notability]] requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links: <br><span class="plainlinks">[http://www.google.com/search?&as_eq=wikipedia&as_epq=Clifford+Geary Clifford Geary]</span> – <span class="plainlinks">[http://news.google.com/archivesearch?&as_src=-newswire+-wire+-presswire+-PR+-press+-release&as_epq=Clifford+Geary news], [http://books.google.com/books?&as_brr=0&as_pub=-icon&as_epq=Clifford+Geary books], [http://scholar.google.com/scholar?as_epq=Clifford+Geary scholar]</span><br> Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient [[WP:N|notability]].</b>

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be [[WP:DEL#REASON|deleted for any of several reasons]].

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the <code>{{tl|dated prod}}</code> notice, but please explain why in your [[Help:edit summary|edit summary]] or on [[Talk:Clifford Geary|the article's talk page]].

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing <code>{{tl|dated prod}}</code> will stop the [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed deletion process]], but other [[Wikipedia:deletion process|deletion process]]es exist. The [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion process]] can result in deletion without discussion, and [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion|articles for deletion]] allows discussion to reach [[Wikipedia:Consensus|consensus]] for deletion.<!-- Template:PRODWarning --> [[User:PhilKnight|PhilKnight]] ([[User talk:PhilKnight|talk]]) 13:23, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

==Copyright problems with [[:File:Garyheadhighest.jpg]]==
[[Image:Ambox warning pn.svg|left|48px|]]Hello. Concerning your contribution, [[:File:Garyheadhighest.jpg]], please note that Wikipedia cannot accept [[Wikipedia:Copyrights|copyrighted]] text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://garyfong.com/licensefree.html. As a copyright violation, [[:File:Garyheadhighest.jpg]] appears to qualify for [[Wikipedia:Deletion policy|deletion]] under the [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion criteria]]. [[:File:Garyheadhighest.jpg]] has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the ''[[Creative Commons licenses|Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License]]'' (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

:*If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at [[File talk:Garyheadhighest.jpg]] and send an email with the message to {{NoSpamEmail|permissions-en|wikimedia.org}}. '''See [[Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission]] for instructions.'''
:*If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at [[File talk:Garyheadhighest.jpg]] with a link to where we can find that note.
:*If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to {{NoSpamEmail|permissions-en|wikimedia.org}} ''or'' a postal message to the [[wmf:Contact_us|Wikimedia Foundation]] permitting re-use ''under the [[Creative Commons licenses|CC-BY-SA]] and [[GNU Free Documentation License|GFDL]]'', and note that you have done so on [[File talk:Garyheadhighest.jpg]].

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our [[Wikipedia:Copyrights|copyright policy]]. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators '''will''' be [[Wikipedia:Blocking policy|blocked]] from editing. Thank you. <!-- Inserted via Template:Nothanks-sd -->

==[[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|Speedy deletion]] nomination of [[:YoungBlood Services]]==
[[Image:Ambox warning_pn.svg|48px|left]] A tag has been placed on [[:YoungBlood Services]] requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under [[WP:CSD#A7|section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion]], because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the [[WP:CSD#Articles|criteria for speedy deletion]], such articles may be deleted at any time. Please [[Wikipedia:Notability|see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable]], as well as our subject-specific [[Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)|notability guideline for organizations and companies]]. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the [[Wikipedia:Article wizard2.0|Article Wizard]].

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding <code>{{tl|hangon}}</code> to '''the top of [[:YoungBlood Services|the page that has been nominated for deletion]]''' (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on '''[[Talk:YoungBlood Services|the talk page]]''' explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for ''speedy'' deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact [[:Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles|one of these admins]] to request that they [[Wikipedia:Userfication#Userfication_of_deleted_content|userfy]] the page or have a copy emailed to you. <!-- Template:Db-inc-notice --> <!-- Template:Db-csd-notice-custom --> [[User:Ironholds|Ironholds]] ([[User talk:Ironholds|talk]]) 11:08, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

It is Wikipedia policy that you don't need to have references to remove unsourced non-neutral Point of View edits such as your edits that I removed. Wikipedia is not the place to push your 45 year old personal agenda about the unification of the Canadian Forces. Your edit warring (repeated reversions in the face of policy) won't work. Get with the program, such as actually signing talk page posts, as has already been clearly explained to you. Start here: [[WP:FIVEPILLARS]] [[User:Hu|Hu]] ([[User talk:Hu#top|talk]]) 11:44, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Okay, so I understand I have not been following the proper procedures for making additions to wiki, my bad. I am reviewing what I have been sent to ensure I comply with them.

As far as an agenda, what he did, he did! Sorry but that's history! Have you ever even looked at any of those references, because my good man I have tons more! Both official CF publications and historical authors make the point much better then me.
So really, you just don't like what I pointed out, so you will do anything to keep your point of view on top.
I am currently am posting this silliness to a number of military blogs and assorted sites, far be it for you to simply look at some of those references, so maybe others more skilled can make the point better.
You are narrow minded, and seemingly spiteful, I did notice you tracking down every entry I ever made to undo them, regardless if they were correct or not. Funny how you have no idea about some facts, but because I made the addition you change them back.
I really am bothered by your revisionist views, your way or no way? Yes, that sets a really good example, especially chasing down all my additions, wow, really neutral there! <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[Special:Contributions/24.18.154.182|24.18.154.182]] ([[User talk:24.18.154.182|talk]]) 12:33, 2 March 2011 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

The word "demise" is non-neutral Point of View in this context which is against Wikipedia policy and further, in this context "demise" is simply not true. You don't know my point of view. You might be surprised. I might agree with the opinion behind your nonNPoV remarks; I might not. I haven't stated an opinion. However, it must be acknowledged that "demise" is a loaded word. The article states that the unification was "drastic and controversial" and both of those statements are undeniable facts and it is an excellent neutral summary of the unification. Further it points to the unification article itself where the facts and issues are discussed in more depth.

Your additions to the External Links are not references for the unification of the military forces, nor is that the way to apply references. At the very least start by summarizing your edits in the Edit Summary box. Read [[Wikipedia:Citing sources]] to understand how to put references in the articles. In the meantime read [[Wikipedia:Signatures]]. Four tildes <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki> is not very difficult and you have been asked quite nicely by another Wikipedia editor too. You even replied to the request affirmatively but continue to flout it. [[User:Hu|Hu]] ([[User talk:Hu#top|talk]]) 15:40, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

== Vandalism Charges ==

Hu,
You obviously want to make something out of my pointing out the errors of your article on Hellyer.
Stop calling all my changes vandalism, especially since you look foolish changing the appropriate ensigns for former ships on the RCN. Maybe if you had some knowledge on the subject you would realize the White Ensign was used by all the Commonwealth navies including the RCN until after unification in 1968. The White Ensign was used for sometime after that.
As far as one can see, your constant revisionist agenda is the only vandalism happening here. <span style="font-size: smaller;" class="autosigned">—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[Special:Contributions/24.18.154.182|24.18.154.182]] ([[User talk:24.18.154.182|talk]]) 06:51, 2 March 2011 (UTC)</span><!-- Template:UnsignedIP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be [[WP:DEL#REASON|deleted for any of several reasons]].

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{Tlc|proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your [[Help:edit summary|edit summary]] or on [[File talk:China-Hukka.png|the file's talk page]].

Please consider addressing the issues raised. If you start a chat, talk, or discussion, or make comments here, I will respond here and not on some other talk page. Similarly, if I post on your talk page, I'd generally prefer to continue the conversation there. Thus, we can avoid incomprehensible disjointed threads spread over several pages.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mount-Rushmore-High-On.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mount-Rushmore-High-On.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Babe Ruth-First Base.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Babe Ruth-First Base.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Pretty-in-pink-cd.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Pretty-in-pink-cd.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:30, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Please view http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._W._H._Abeyesundere.

I am sending you this as I am not sure how the "This article needs additional citations for verification" tag can be removed.

Since the tag was added more reference material has been listed to suffice the removal of the tag. I would appreciate your help in having it removed.

As I am not sure how to set about having this done, I am addressing this to you as you were one of those who edited the article sometime in 2007.

Given the fact that some of the events are several decades old the reference material listed is as much as is available with even the subject of the article being deceased. I have seen many articles with less reference material not having this tag attached to it.

Your help in getting this done is appreciated.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Gabor-magyarposta.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gabor-magyarposta.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:06, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What template? I didn't use a template. Are you a regular? If so, then it is high time to preview, group, and summarize edits. Hu (talk) 05:19, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's high time you get off your high horse and read the link provided. Paul B (talk) 08:10, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, since your little homily is presented apropos of nothing, it's not even any use. Paul B (talk) 08:13, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hu (talk) 17:12, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clicking on it in the novels section leads to a page that says, in its entirety, "Override this function." Please find out what happened and restore the article about the novel. Hu (talk) 00:22, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to have fixed itself seconds after placing the AdminHelp tag, so I am removing the tag in the hopes that it is truly fixed. Perhaps some database glitch occurred or perhaps some code was introduced into the system without proper testing. Hu (talk) 00:25, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Hu! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Bill Brooks (politician) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 18:54, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Clifford Geary has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Clifford Gearynews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PhilKnight (talk) 13:23, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Garyheadhighest.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://garyfong.com/licensefree.html. File:Garyheadhighest.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you.

The specific reason this file is up for deletion is because Fong licensed it under a "no derivatives" license, which is incompatible with Wikipedia. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 12:05, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on YoungBlood Services requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Paul Hellyer

[edit]

I've placed semi-protection on the article (no IPs and no newly registered users, though established users can still edit) and I've left a note on the IP's talk page advising him that it's not an appropriate claim to make without a reliable source. Hopefully that should cover things for now. Bearcat (talk) 20:43, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Hu (talk) 14:27, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So where are the references for your 'version' of Hellyers history? Looking forward to seeing your references. I have also obtained numerous other references regarding his subject. And please avoid using his book 'damn the torpedoes', it didn't do much for his arguments. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.18.154.182 (talk) 06:32, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Start here: WP:FIVEPILLARS Hu (talk) 11:44, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.18.154.182 (talk) 12:33, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Read Wikipedia:Citing sources to understand how to put references in the articles. In the meantime read Wikipedia:Signatures. Four tildes ~~~~ is not very difficult and you have been asked quite nicely by another Wikipedia editor too. You even replied to the request affirmatively but continue to flout it. Hu (talk) 15:40, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism Charges

[edit]

Hu, You obviously want to make something out of my pointing out the errors of your article on Hellyer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.18.154.182 (talk) 06:51, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
