What is going to be the criteria to move it to the mainspace? <small><span style="background:Maroon;color:Gold"> &nbsp;BIGNOLE&nbsp;</span></small> <small>(Contact me)</small> 19:29, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

:I think everyone can discuss it. Like what exactly is covered? Do we take a "MCU" approach where each film/TV series has a 3 paragraph structure of a) simple plot b) development c) connective material? Do we have all that info, but spread out in various other sections? Do we include some type of cross over cast table, or use something like I initially created? I think once we determine that, get it structured and c/e edited to our liking, we could maybe move it to the mainspace. The sources and notability I believe are definitely there to be passable for a mainspace article. It just has to be created. Does that help answer your question? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:49, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

::My thoughts on this... I wouldnt include Supergirl or other potential series until they are actually confirmed to be connected... the potential Ray Palmer series actually became the team-up show... But I also question whether "The Arrow Universe" is an appropriate title for the page... has it been called that in any reliable sources? Perhaps "The CW DC Television Universe" or something like that? Not really wild about that name just throwing out another suggestion.. I don't know... but "Arrow Universe" doesn't seem right to me. ::::Just as a suggestion for moving it to the main space, how about if the teamup show becomes a thing and is released. I would say 3 live action and 1 animated would be enough to warrent a page, especially considering all of the crossovers they seem to like to do.--<span style="color:#00FF00">Ditto51</span> (<span style="color:#FF0000">My</span> <span style="color:#0000FF">Talk</span> <span style="color:#FFFF00">Page</span>) 22:11, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

:::::My question is because unless there is reliable sources discussing the universe, having notable shows exist in the same universe does not make the universe itself notable. The notability guideline discusses that individual entities do not make a sum notable. So, we need to worry more about finding sources to expand on the idea of the universe, and worry less about how many "existing" shows need to occur before we can move it into the mainspace. If the page is just going to be a general housing of all the connected shows, then a navigation box can easily do that for us, because we don't need to repeat ourselves on every show page and then again on a central page. My fear is the page just becomes a housing ground for giants lists of who appears where. That's why I'm asking us to understand when it should move, but I can see a rush to push it into the mainspace (not that you personally would just rush in Favre) just because there are several inter-connected shows, but when no one has actually commented on the universe itself (Spanneraol touches on this when it's assumed to call it the "Arrow universe"). ::::::I understand that concern 100% Bignole, and hope to prevent it from that, but just make the draft a nurturing space. I just had a general concept of what the article could be the other day and just wanted to get it crafted somewhere. :) I'm not looking for this to be a couple of days editing thing and then it's ready. It will probably be time, maybe until the team up series is released, and a bunch of coverage (hopefully) on the universe is released. <s>And if acceptable with those involved here thus far, can we start moving this over to the Draft talk? == Crossover Sources ==
The CWverse Name.
Before I speak up about this I just wanted to let you all know that I am NOT in Support of the name "CWVerse" I am committed to calling it "Arrowverse" even though Arrow has ended.
Do the press releases for The CW go into detail about guest characters? If they do then can they be used as sources for the crossover appearances. If not then can reviews or recaps be used to source it. As long as they are reliable of course.--<span style="color:#00FF00">Ditto51</span> (<span style="color:#FF0000">My</span> <span style="color:#0000FF">Talk</span> <span style="color:#FFFF00">Page</span>) 22:04, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

However the subheading about when the name "CWverse" came out seems to be incorrect.
Isnt the universe called The Arrowverse??
The shared universe is being called by both fans and gaming news sites as the arrowverse. Even Greg Berlanti called it the Arrowverse in an interview about The possibility of Supergirl crossing over "into the Arrowverse". I know this is still a draft, but still. The Ouroboros, the Undying, the Immortal (talk) 06:23, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

In 2019 before Crisis On Infinite Earths was aired the CW came out with a Comics come to life Sizzle Reel that had that name in it. https://comicbook.com/dc/news/dc-tv-sizzle-reel-the-cw-arrow-batwoman-legends-supergirl-flash-/
Untitled spin-off series draft
Now I don't know how reliable Comicbook.com is but if you look at when this article got uploaded it also has a date in July 19 2019.
Shared Elements Section
Shouldn't we amend the subheading a bit to reflect that fact? Maxcardun (talk) 9:31, 7 July 2021 (UTC)
Should we right down which series are crossing over or something? As with Vixen and the spin-off series, it will be harder to tell which series everyone comes from if you only watch one of the four.--<span style="color:#00FF00">Ditto51</span> (<span style="color:#FF0000">My</span> <span style="color:#0000FF">Talk</span> <span style="color:#FFFF00">Page</span>) 13:21, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

I need to actually read these articles closer. There is in fact a mention there but not putting down the 2019 date. Maxcardun (talk) 8:12, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

Serial Box shows
::Crossing over as in say Barry appearing on Arrow or Oliver appearing on Flash. With another 2 shows it may get even more confusing as to where some characters are crossing over from, especially since Heat-Wave and Stein started on Flash and are going to the spin-off and Atom started on Arrow, so where would they be marked as crossing over from?
::Something else I just thought of as well, if Heat-Wave appears in a rouge-centric episode on the Flash, would that be a crossover like Oliver appearing on the Flash? Or would it just be considered a recurring character thing?
::Overall that table will get confusing, fast and it will have to be decided if a character returns to their starting show, would it be added to the table or not?--<span style="color:#00FF00">Ditto51</span> (<span style="color:#FF0000">My</span> <span style="color:#0000FF">Talk</span> <span style="color:#FFFF00">Page</span>) 15:23, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

I think we should cut the section about upcoming Serial Box shows. There's been no news about that in nearly 3 years, and Serial Box doesn't even exist anymore. --Dsethlewis (talk) 22:16, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
:::Personally, because of all that, I would say that we shouldn't be chronicling cross-overs to that detail. I think acknowledging crossovers between series should be enough, because this page needs to be based on the universe as a whole and not individual links within the universe. If you're going to do a table, I would think that you would have a list of characters on the left column, and then going across you could just list the different shows with a "yes" or "no" for whether they have crossed over period. This, instead of listing every single crossover event would be easier to navigate and easier to update than trying to micromanage every single appearance in each series. <small><span style="background:Maroon;color:Gold"> &nbsp;BIGNOLE&nbsp;</span></small> <small>(Contact me)</small> 15:39, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
:I agree.. Serial Box has a new name, so it technically still exists.. but they have no mention of the shows on their website anymore so it's safe to say the project did not happen. Spanneraol (talk) 22:29, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

Crossover Definition
::::That could also get messy though... We could always do something like what has been done here and then just keep that section for the official crossovers they want to do every season.--<span style="color:#00FF00">Ditto51</span> (<span style="color:#FF0000">My</span> <span style="color:#0000FF">Talk</span> <span style="color:#FFFF00">Page</span>) 15:45, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

I figure that I should make a talk page out of this before anyone makes a concrete move on this subject. I noticed that we are counting the final appearance of Oliver Queen on the Flash under the "Crossover" Category. While this is a notable event, I feel as if it shows a certain bias seeing as how Batwoman in one form or another and Nia Nal from Supergirl also made an appearance at some point. To lessen the potential Bias seeing as the episode was a single one, we can either remove this episode from the crossover list or we could include Mask Of The Red Death and Wildest Dreams in the Category. Or perhaps amend the 2023 Crossover Events to a single name and perhaps put the Episode names under the show they are crossing over from. Maxcardun (talk) 03:24, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
:::::I don't like the season bit, because that will just become too cumbersome when you have 3 and 4 shows with multiple seasons. If you took that example, and removed the seasons and leave it as simply the shows across the top, then that is what I was referring to. ::::That Reference you pointed out is NOT the CW, those guys at "Comic Book" will say anything. Again I'm trying to point out that Batwoman/Ryan Wilder also had one of these spots in a big way. When we think about it we can probably ignore Nia's Episode from this season since she is not in fact "Supergirl", and it would probably fall in line more with the time Ray first made an appearance on The Flash. What I'll also mention is that this still doesn't answer how to deal with recurring characters being spun-off and then returning, such as Heat-Wave and Captain Cold, as they don't have a backdoor pilot where as Barry was intended to have one.--<span style="color:#00FF00">Ditto51</span> (<span style="color:#FF0000">My</span> <span style="color:#0000FF">Talk</span> <span style="color:#FFFF00">Page</span>) 17:07, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

:That's why I suggested my solution to the table, because we wouldn't need to worry about that level of detail. We could just say they have appeared in Show X, and Show Y, and Show Z. Before I speak up about this I just wanted to let you all know that I am NOT in Support of the name "CWVerse" I am committed to calling it "Arrowverse" even though Arrow has ended.

However the subheading about when the name "CWverse" came out seems to be incorrect.

In 2019 before Crisis On Infinite Earths was aired the CW came out with a Comics come to life Sizzle Reel that had that name in it. https://comicbook.com/dc/news/dc-tv-sizzle-reel-the-cw-arrow-batwoman-legends-supergirl-flash-/

Now I don't know how reliable Comicbook.com is but if you look at when this article got uploaded it also has a date in July 19 2019.

Shouldn't we amend the subheading a bit to reflect that fact? Maxcardun (talk) 9:31, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

I need to actually read these articles closer. There is in fact a mention there but not putting down the 2019 date. Maxcardun (talk) 8:12, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

Serial Box shows

[edit]

I think we should cut the section about upcoming Serial Box shows. There's been no news about that in nearly 3 years, and Serial Box doesn't even exist anymore. --Dsethlewis (talk) 22:16, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree.. Serial Box has a new name, so it technically still exists.. but they have no mention of the shows on their website anymore so it's safe to say the project did not happen. Spanneraol (talk) 22:29, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Crossover Definition

[edit]

Maxcardun (talk) 03:24, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To" has been referred to specifically as a crossover episode. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:10, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A crossover is when two shows crossover with each other. Olivers appearance was a guest spot.. it was NOT a crossover since nothing crossed over. Spanneraol (talk) 22:03, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Reliable secondary sources refer to it as a crossover. Therefore, it is a crossover; our own personal defintions are irrelevant. -- Alex_21 TALK 00:19, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That Reference you pointed out is NOT the CW, those guys at "Comic Book" will say anything. If we're giving attention to this one guest spot when Oliver comes on, why not Ryan? It's not like either was a Major Event since both their shows concluded some time ago. Maxcardun (talk) 14:23, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter, sources used do not have to be only from the primary source. Do you have any sources stating that any of your mentioned examples are crossovers? If not, it violates WP:OR and WP:SYNTH. Wikipedia bases its content only on reliably sourced material, not your personal opinions. -- Alex_21 TALK 20:55, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Don't you threaten me talking about violations, I didn't touch your precious article about this, that's why I started this conversation. At any rate since it seems no one calls the other two instances a "Crossover" despite the actual occurrence and another "Comic Book" Article stating from The Director that the episode serves "In A Sense" as the Final Crossover event, not a Crossover event, the prime definition sadly seems to me to be up in the air, and like a lot of things in the CW in the end apparently belongs to the people who take some kind of ownership of it like you and Favre1fan93. So I guess we have no control in the end for a proper civil consensus, and two separate articles explaining the same thing. One here and one in The Flash Season 9 Maxcardun (talk) 17:32, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please remain civil, I have not threatened you in any format. If you source you provided calls it a crossover, "in a sense", then it's a crossover, "in a sense". It seems to be that you are indeed the one trying to force their point of view against Wikipedia's core policies and against sourced content. Do you have any sources that specifically say it is not a crossover? Or is it simply that you don't like it? -- Alex_21 TALK 20:49, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"in a sense" is not a crossover... and outside of bloggy fan sites like comic book do you actually have an official source calling it a crossover? It wasn't Panabaker calling it that in the article, it was the writer. Spanneraol (talk) 21:34, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, just to clarify my understanding on your position on sources: do you believe that Wikipedia's content should be supported only by primary, "official" sources? Is that the only acceptable type of source, in your eyes, to support the addition of such content? -- Alex_21 TALK 03:43, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Expanding upon my reply, ComicBook.com is actually far from some "bloggy fan site"; if you'd taken the time to read their About page, the site is part of Paramount Global and lead by an extensively experienced editorial team. This site is probably as reliable as you can get; that's why it's used in over 4,600 Wikipedia articles. -- Alex_21 TALK 08:01, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, the new EW cover story about the end of The Flash includes "nine official mega crossovers" in the article, but does not name them. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:50, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That would indicate "It's My Party and..." doesn't count, because otherwise the number would be ten. O.N.R. (talk) 07:24, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And that would be WP:OR, as you're personally assuming what doesn't count. -- Alex_21 TALK 07:32, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Superman & Lois crossover

[edit]

Superman & Lois has never crossed over with an Arrowverse show, so I don't think it's appropriate to mention otherwise in the infobox even if the show began production as an Arrowverse show. Feel free to revert me if you think otherwise. Linkin Prankster (talk) 11:59, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
