This appears to be inaccurate, since both [https://people.com/archive/in-toon-with-tots-vol-47-no-8/ this article] from ''[[People (magazine)|People]]'' and [https://web.archive.org/web/20090619095331/http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/ap/gtartakovsky.html this] CartoonNetwork.com profile on Tartakovsky claim that the film was created while Tartakovsky was at Cal Arts. Furthermore, Mike Manley's book, ''Best of Draw! Volume 1'' includes the following exchange at the very top of pg. 136:
