- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. GrayStorm(Complaints Dept.|My Contribs.) 17:18, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
Founding date
[edit]Does anyone have a source for Meta Platforms, Inc. being founded on January 4th (located at the top of the page in the details pane)? I've seen other sites claim February 4th as well as the Wikipedia article for Facebook the service here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook Copertina5 (talk) 20:47, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
Requested move 29 October 2024
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: not moved. Consensus not to move per WP:NATDIS. (closed by non-admin page mover) Raladic (talk) 05:10, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
Meta Platforms → Meta (company) – Although its official name is Meta Platforms, its overwhelmingly WP:COMMONNAME is Meta. PhotographyEdits (talk) 16:00, 29 October 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 04:26, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Popcornfud (talk) 16:13, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Comment See this previous discussion, which resulted in the current article title. Note that Meta (company) represents a WP:PDAB. 162 etc. (talk) 17:30, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- That was a different discussion about moving away from an incorrect name. And that discussion was years ago, we now have more RS to use in this discussion. PhotographyEdits (talk) 23:18, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:NATURALDIS. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:17, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose While just "Meta" is a WP:COMMONNAME in internet searches, we must determined that this article is also a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the name "Meta", which is likely not in case (Meta Greek prefix is also equal in this case due to long-term significance). Take the case of Paramount, while it mostly refer to Paramount Pictures and its parent company, we cannot determined which one is the Primary topic. 103.111.100.82 (talk) 21:15, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
- This is irrelevant here, because I'm still supporting tre use of parentheses disambiguation. PhotographyEdits (talk) 23:19, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Support per COMMONNAME.--Ortizesp (talk) 17:20, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:NATDIS. Arnav Bhate (talk • contribs) 18:44, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. --Coolcaesar (talk) 19:12, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Do you mean "Meta Platforms" is the common name, or something else? PhotographyEdits (talk) 12:52, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- At two years since the corporate name change, the company has already displaced the Greek prefix as the most common usage in the English language. I would support a move to Meta and moving the current article there to Meta (disambiguation). --Coolcaesar (talk) 23:57, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
