You may want to participate in the discussion on the [[Columbia University]] talk page, about "Barnard jokes," since you were the one who tagged an article by that name for deletion. Best, [[User:Matanariel|Matan]] 01:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

I'll state again that almost all "serial killers" don't spend most of their time killing people. It's a non-argument since most of us don't spend all of our time doing any one thing. Again, Ted Bundy didn't spend 2 out of every 3 minutes killing people. I'll also state again that the terms we're discussing are not mutually exclusive. Kaczynski is BOTH serial killer and terrorist (and white, and male, and a mathematician, and a convicted felon, and a hermit, and an anarchist . . .) He can be many things at the same time. The ambiguity of many terms is undeniable, which is why I buttressed my argument for labelling him a serial killer with more than a single definition or reason. Don't know where "bad faith" comes into play when using a defined term that fits. No snark here, but I have no idea what one means by saying ". . . it seems to me that to consider him a serial killer to be a sign of bad faith." I'm not dealing in faith, rather, I'm dealing in accurately describing the man with a relevant term. <small>—The preceding [[Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages|unsigned]] comment was added by [[User:Wooden Bear|Wooden Bear]] ([[User talk:Wooden Bear|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Wooden Bear|contribs]]) 19:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC{{{3|}}})</small>

I've added the "{{tl|prod}}" template to the article [[Philanthropist]], suggesting that it be deleted according to the [[Wikipedia:Proposed deletion|proposed deletion]] process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "[[Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not|What Wikipedia is not]]" and [[Wikipedia:Deletion policy|Wikipedia's deletion policy]]). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at [[Talk:Philanthropist]]. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion|Articles for Deletion]], where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the [[Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion|speedy deletion criteria]]. &mdash; [[User:SebastianHelm|Sebastian]] [[User_talk:SebastianHelm|(talk)]] 04:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

You and [[User:Canadian-Bacon|Canadian-Bacon]] seemed to have been slightly confused in wether or not to revert [[User:203.10.59.63|203.10.59.63]] on [[Universe]]. I can almost assuredly tell you that it is spam. See [[:Category:Wikipedia:Sock_puppets_of_Universe_Daily]] for many of the spam URLs that [[User:Universe Daily]]'s socks and proxies like to use. Visit a few. You'll find they're an almost identical forum that has been repeatedly spammed. I doubt the list is definitive anymore, but keep an eye out for it. Hi, I need some help. I found vandalism on Wikipedia, but don't know how to fix it. The image of campers playing in the pool on the Young Life page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Life) was changed to have a silly face over the face of one of the people in the pool. It looks like this was done on 03:05, 8 October 2006 by Dylantogrye. I'm new to Wikipedia and don't know how to fix it. I was reading the article about Troy, the movie. In the "External links" section there was the link "Troy at Box Office Mojo". Clicking on Troy would redirect to the appropriate page at BOM. However, clicking on Box Office Mojo, would redirect to the same page as Troy. When I tried editing the contents I found out that I had no idea on how to correct this. Normaly, it should link to the internal article for BOM.

== Help for the Celine Dion CD pages and Discography ==
The message I posted was
"This company has a long history of poor labour relations. It currently has a large amount of part time & temporary staff.
Typically when a temporary staff member hands in their notice they are removed from the roster for the period of their notice. Effectively once part time staff hand in their notice they are fired without pay.
"

For the Celine Dion Cd pages there are very little references. In most wiki pages we are asked to put references and for example in the D'elles CD there are absolutely none. My other problem is that in the Discography I think that the sales are not very accurate. According to the global chart (Ill use the CD D'elles again) it is said to have sold 500,000 copies in its first week while the official global chart it says only 133,000 [http://www.mediatraffic.de/albums.htm]. I know some countries are not included but I doubt that a French CD sold almost 4 times the amount outside the countries listed on the United World Chart. Apperantly it shipped 0.5 million globally that amount but then the heading should be abulms shipped not sold. Anyways sorry for such a long message I just needed to inform someone. Thanks

:That was an error on my part -- since the link was "<nowiki>[[United States|American]]</nowiki>", I mistakenly thought the text read as "a United States..." However, it obviously read as "a American" and your edit was right. I missed this, because I only saw the code and had a brainfart at that moment. I probably also jumped to conclusions because there recently have been people editing that very part of the page into incorrect grammar.

Ironic that you're accusing me of overreacting when you seem to have crowned yourself "Miss Grammar" here on Wikipedia, and yet you actively troll recent changes to incorporate errors that others have been astute enough to catch and to fix. Perhaps you need to re-assess your skills and your holier-than-thou attitude before spending your time (despite your claims to be busy "in real life") making Wikipedia worse than it was before you got online. <small>—The preceding [[Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages|unsigned]] comment was added by [[User:129.33.49.251|129.33.49.251]] ([[User talk:129.33.49.251|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/129.33.49.251|contribs]]) 21:29, 17 August 2006 (UTC{{{3|}}})</small>

This was simply the culmination of weeks of seeing accurate, thoughtful work being undone by self-appointed Wikipedia queens who've decided, for no justifiable reason, that they know how things ought to be around here. This is a shame, since it surely drives away those such as myself who are careful to make only grammatically and factually correct edits to articles. <small>—The preceding [[Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages|unsigned]] comment was added by [[User:129.33.49.251|129.33.49.251]] ([[User talk:129.33.49.251|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/129.33.49.251|contribs]]) 21:41, 17 August 2006 (UTC{{{3|}}})</small>

And I just noticed this paragraph that I accidentally reverted off of this page:<blockquote>Anyway, how can someone mistake changing "a" to "an" for vandalism? Did you think I had actually written "Lance Bass wants to suck cock and be defecated on in space" (like one of the previous editors) instead of adding the letter "n" onto the word "a"? You sound a little too trigger-happy to be correcting vandalism.</blockquote>Who said I thought it was vandalism? Can't I try to correct what I (mistakenly) think are grammar issues? Again, all I did was read the front of the wikilink instead of the end of it. That was the genesis of my error. -- [[User:Omicronpersei8|Omicronpersei8]] ([[User_talk:Omicronpersei8|talk]]) 22:10, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Omicronpersei8 I need your help. I am working on a research project at Boston College, studying creation of medical information on Wikipedia. You are being contacted because you have been identified as an important contributor to one or more articles.

This is Steve Niles. You have a page dedicated to me and my work, but recently a disgruntled person named Matt Busch has taken it upon himself to add a factually incorrect account of a personal issue in my life. I would like it removed. Is that possible? Matt Busch himself is posting this and it is not relevant to my career and like I said is factually incorrect and only being posted because Busch lost his girlfriend.

It appears that you are responsbile for a bot that reverted my edit on [[John Howard]]. This is highly unsatisfactory and completely breaks Wikipedia as it is intended to function. Please turn off the bot or fix it to ensure that it only reverts known malicious editors. Please advise a.s.a.p. when you have restored my ability to edit this article.

Insofar as the bot may be a useful tool, there is insufficient documentation as to what authority the bot operates under and how to counter its unwanted actions. If you are going to operate this bot - it is VERY UNSATISFACTORY to also have a notice on your home page advising that you may not respond to messages. If you wish to operate the bot you should be available to account for the actions of the bot. --[[User:Wm|Wm]] 03:19, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

So why is that article, filled with speculation, 'some sources say' with citations to tabloids and etcetera not worthy of being edited? I read a lot of articles on here, and the steven seagal one is not up to snuff. I don't even care about steven seagal, but i do care about wikipedia having pages like this. <small>—The preceding [[Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages|unsigned]] comment was added by [[User:72.26.94.95|72.26.94.95]] ([[User talk:72.26.94.95|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/72.26.94.95|contribs]]) 05:10, 18 August 2006 (UTC{{{3|}}})</small>
:From what I can tell, the controversy is over your deletion of sections. The best way to go about fixing the article would be to try to edit the existing sections into sanity, or at least include edit comments with your deletions. Warning If you received a vandalism warning from me and don't know why, you are probably browsing with an IP address used by many different people. You should not be concerned, as the warning was probably not meant for you. Hi Omicronpersei8,

You may want to participate in the discussion on the Columbia University talk page, about "Barnard jokes," since you were the one who tagged an article by that name for deletion. Best, Matan 01:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wooden Bear (talkcontribs) 19:00, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Philanthropist, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Philanthropist. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. — Sebastian (talk) 04:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing vandalism

[edit]

Hi, I need some help. I found vandalism on Wikipedia, but don't know how to fix it. The image of campers playing in the pool on the Young Life page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Life) was changed to have a silly face over the face of one of the people in the pool. It looks like this was done on 03:05, 8 October 2006 by Dylantogrye. I'm new to Wikipedia and don't know how to fix it. Possible error in Wikipedia's internals

[edit]

Sorry to bother you again, I feel but you are the only one it makes sense complaining to :)

Thank you for you time. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Outsid3r (talkcontribs) 01:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Regarding Omicronpersei8's departure

[edit]

I spoke with him on AIM shortly after he left, and while he said he might return to leave you guys a note explaining what was up, I have not seen him back here at all. So I will simply pass on what he said to me.

The first message I got regarding his departure was on 2006-12-03 "(02:48:22 PM EST) Omicronpersei8: chris, I'm going inactive indefinitely on Wikipedia."

He proceeded to explain to me that while in school he had become addicted to Wikipedia, spending almost all of his free time here. He did not say if his grades were being affected but reading between the lines I gather that they were (I could be wrong).

I responded saying that while we will miss his hard work here, his own life takes priority over Wikipedia, period. So please wish him a fond farewell, but don't pressure him to return to Wikipedia. If he does it should be by his choice.

And so I will leave him with this; it's well deserved. --Chris (talk) 18:40, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Help for the Celine Dion CD pages and Discography

[edit]

For the Celine Dion Cd pages there are very little references. In most wiki pages we are asked to put references and for example in the D'elles CD there are absolutely none. My other problem is that in the Discography I think that the sales are not very accurate. According to the global chart (Ill use the CD D'elles again) it is said to have sold 500,000 copies in its first week while the official global chart it says only 133,000 [1]. Thanks

WP:CVU status

[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Ashida Kim, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Dude

[edit]

An editor has nominated Dude, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dude and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 01:01, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

reg installing vniper

[edit]

Hello, Hope you see this. I just got approved for Vsniper. I run Ubuntu, and am not an expert at it. I needed help and I see that most of the commands for Knoppix and Ubuntu, being similar, I am going to use your guide. Is there any difference at all if I use your guide for UBUNTU?? Thanks. Survey request

[edit]

Hi, Omicronpersei8 I need your help. I am working on a research project at Boston College, studying creation of medical information on Wikipedia. You are being contacted because you have been identified as an important contributor to one or more articles.

Would you will be willing to answer a few questions about your experience? We've done considerable background research, but we would also like to gather the insight of the actual editors. Details about the project can be found at the user page of the project leader, geraldckane. Survey questions can be found at geraldckane/medsurvey. Your privacy and confidentiality will be strictly protected!

The questions should only take a few minutes. I hope you will be willing to complete the survey, as we do value your insight. Please do not hesitate to contact me or Professor Kane if you have any questions. Thank You, BCproject (talk) 19:00, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
