Francesco Guidolin
Kobbie Mainoo's Height
Hi, i corrected the height of Kobbie Mainoo recently, most sources have this wrongly down as 175cm, when in fact is more 183-184cm. There are several stories confirming this and a video of a presenter asking him about EAFC football game mistaking his height, they do a live measurement on this show, Cole Palmer taking the measurement and clarifying this. So please update his measurement to the correct measurement as it seems most computer games and websites are basing their work off of his wikipedia info.
Please don't call me a vandal. All information I have inputted is fact and most of it is sourced or linked to sourced Wikipedia material. Guidolin's managerial statistics is based on www.soccerbase.com. But don't worry I shan't bother you again.

Here are a few links to back this up:

Hello Mattythewhite,
Hi Matty its Jamie McAllister here, please can you change my photo, i am not happy with this one. <small><span class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by Maccajaz (talk • contribs) 21:34, 26 June 2015‎ (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned -->
Why did you revert the IPA in the football player's articles? --BigBullfrog (talk) 17:58, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
:BigBullfrog I've only removed them when they've been unsourced. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:42, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
::Unlike English, languages like German, Dutch, French, Spanish, and Portuguese have very consistent spelling-to-pronunciation rules. Therefore, when transcribing names from these languages using IPA, one only needs to follow the MOS:PRON and Help:IPA (H:IPA-DE, H:IPA-FR, H:IPA-NL, etc.). According to the conventions of Wikipedia, IPA transcriptions for these languages do not need sources unless they are strange or exotic (e.g. Mbappé). So, the IPA for Benjamin Pavard and Stefan de Vrij is correct. These pronunciations do have sources (e.g. interview videos), but it's not necessary to add them in articles. --BigBullfrog (talk) 15:04, 21 December 2024 (UTC)

"Scores and results list…"
Philippe Coutinho
Hi Matty. In international goals tables, why are you removing the full stop from the sentence "Scores and results list Templatonia's goal tally first, score column indicates score after each Template goal"? As far as I can tell, it's a complete sentence with a subject, a verb and an object and per MOS:CAPFRAG should go with a full stop. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:11, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi Mattythewhite
:Robby.is.on Maybe, but the way it's worded doesn't feel to me like a properly constructed sentence you'd find in regular prose. If I were to word it like a standalone sentence it would be something like "The scores and results columns list Templatonia's goal tally first, while the score column indicates the score after each Template goal". Mattythewhite (talk) 16:57, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
I'm new to editing wikipedia articles and all I really wanted to do was change the picture used in the article. I have found a few other pictures that would be more accurate for this footballer
::I see what you mean. The sentence leaves out articles and also the word "column" once for brevity (you might find this discussion on English Language & Usage Stack Exchange interesting). Still, the sentence includes the essential components subject, verb and object and I'm pretty sure that means it needs a full stop. This is also reflected in our manual of style at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players. == ENFA stats ==

Hi, do you still have access to enfa.co.uk player stats? Earlier this year you helped by extracting the career stats for Leon Leuty and I am just coming towards the end of developing an article for his teammate Jackie Stamps, alas, I also can't easily find his career stats. If you have access, will you be able to upload this (and fix any erroneous data in the infobox)? I'm looking to push it towards GA. Thanks. Hi! Thank you for keeping an eye on the statistics and my edits. The Carl Pentney stats are retrieved from the match reports at Maidenhead United's Pitch Hero website, apart from the Bath City match on 18 August 2015, which was covered by Bath Chronicle.
:Bungle Hi, I do indeed. I'll try and do this in the next day or two. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:22, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
:Bungle Done! Mattythewhite (talk) 22:01, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
::Thanks, that's great. I assume Burton aren't included because they weren't in the football league at that time (as in, is it typically to include only football league apps only)? He seemed quite prolific during his time there but I think they may have been non-league, perhaps. :::Bungle It's fine to include appearance and goal data for non-League teams; I hadn't noticed that there was already a source for the Burton stats in tharticle, so I've now restored them to the infobox and added them to the table. Hi. I am only a very occasional contributor and have no idea how this process works. You removed my edit saying there was "no reliable source". I'm not sure why you think a source is necessary ; the season statistics speak for themselves, and are available for all to see on the 2007-8 season page for Derby - 14 games after Carroll began playing, during which he let in 38 goals, and the club set a new Premiership record for the lowest ever points total. If you need a cross-reference as a "reliable source" it would be this Wiki page : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007%E2%80%9308_Derby_County_F.C._season . I don't know how to use that in a way which is acceptable to you.

Hi Matty - I was reverting a previous change that had removed a couple of words from an already cited quote that meant the quote was no longer accurate annd made no sense. The addition was part of the article cited for the entire sentence and as such would be covered by that citation. I'd normally have changed this under my own username (User:AndrewMcQ) but I've mislaid my password after a longish absence from editting. Would you revert or should I?

Boreham Wood F.C.
I've added a link to prove that the club have turned full time and highlighted quote from that article from the chairman below:

"Hunter went on “Going to a day time training programme three days a week, is tantamount to turning Meadow Park and Boreham Wood into a full time football club for the first time in our history.."

Response
Hello, you sent me a message yesterday regarding putting capital letters on common nouns and having the same link in the info boxes. I'd just like to offer an explanation and if it satisfies you then great and if not then i'll listen to your advice. Regarding the capital letters, I have only been doing this in info boxes because the word promoted or relegated is in brackets and is not in a sentence. If it were I would not be putting a capital letter at the beginning of the words. I also think the info box looks more visually aesthetic with capital lettered words, otherwise i find the word (promoted or relegated) looks out of place as generally every other word in the info box has a capital letter. Secondly, regarding having the same link, I have only been doing this because clubs that are promoted and relegated obviously change league and thus the league and last season league link are different. In these cases there are two links. The problem I have is there is then a lack of consistency with clubs that stay in the same league as they only have one link, because as you say duplication is occurring. Thus personally I think it is better to have two links on all, rather than one link on some and two on other or one link on all and then having some league links you can't access.

Kind regards

I'm not sure what comment you're referring to. The only changes I made were all common knowledge facts regarding Bayern's historic performances in the competition, that were easily cited by the main source of all the information that was already contained in the existing citations.

However, even more interesting is that none of the other information in that section has a citation at all whatsoever. So, clearly it seems your motivation to remove my comment comes from somewhere else.

But, if you want, you can even look at wikipedia's own source of basic facts on that very competition (which also happens to not be cited).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_Cup_and_UEFA_Champions_League_finals

In the future, you may want to realize citations are only for things which aren't widely recognized & easily documented common knowledge facts. <!-- Template:Unsigned IP --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.243.82.229 (talk) 00:16, 28 March 2017 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

I know, you are a "fan" of leagues being written in intro, but this user also: 1 - needless creates a redirect ("AS Monaco" instead of the correct "AS Monaco FC"); 2 - blanks their page whenever they receive a message, so I feel they don't want to interact "all that much" and thus I will not be bothered to do so.

; Aims

After discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Yorkshire in April 2008.

Specific aims for the project are:-

*To complete tagging and assessment of all Yorkshire related articles (See below)
*To recruit more active editors (See Member News)
*To bring our top level article Yorkshire up to Featured article status
*To bring all other top priority articles (currently 15 with 2 at FA) to at least Good article status
*To set up a weekly or monthly selected article improvement drive (See this month's feature below)
*To produce a regular news letter for circulation to members

and apropos of the above a 2010 New Year article improvement drive/collaboration is being organised.

;Priority Articles

The top priority articles that have been identified to date are as follows -

* Bradford • East Riding of Yorkshire • Henry Moore • Kingston upon Hull • Leeds • North Yorkshire • Ripon • Sheffield • South Yorkshire • Wakefield • West Yorkshire • William Wilberforce • York • Yorkshire • Yorkshire and the Humber

The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.

;Place list
This month I would like members to focus their attention on the List of places in Yorkshire article. It would be good that each time you look at an article on a place in Yorkshire that you also check if it is in the list article. You can easily get to the list article from a place article if it uses the Infobox UK place template as there is a link at the bottom of the template. If it is not present then add the appropriate link to the list.

*Moves<br />Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. Otherwise the archives, to-do lists, assessment comments and GA reviews get lost and the image may be deleted as it has an incorrect FUR. == Ffs im done ya happy? ==

So you ban me for 2 weeks for doing right but accidentally putting the reference with another because i was scared if i took the other away you would ban me (im not the best at refs -Eric Dier-) every time i try doing good ive stopped people trolling, doing bad edits ive always been helpful but you there every time waiting 10 years you've wasted of your life on wiki not helping good people but stopping them well you have your wish im not gonna edit anything about football again well done for not helping the good side of the community..
Edit- This not hate or "harassment" im simply saying well done and goodbye.

Infobox stats editing
Hi, I see an IP (168.181.182.54) has been enthusiastically editing infobox stats totals upwards, i presume this is for all games rather than league totals although they never cite a source. I have a feeling this is the same user as 179.106.3.250 who did the same thing last week. A shame they are putting so much effort into the wrong infomation! Shall I just go ahead and revert 168.181.182.54's edits, or would you like to take a look first (you already reverted Ruud Gullit)? Thanks. PS while trying to check Cafu's totals I spotted his career stats box is a bit messed up (the Palmeiras bit below Zaragoza), I'm not very good with the formatting of those tables (tried and failed!) so if you have a chance could you possibly fix it? Crowsus (talk) 10:54, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
:Pretty sure the figures are entirely made up. They've been using a few different addresses, think I've reverted them all now. I'll take a look at Cafu and see if I can fix the table. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:01, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

Why have you reverted all my recent edits?
All I was doing was adding the 2017 EFL trophy win to players profiles. Not sure why it has been removed.- skybluecm
:As I explained on your talk page, the content is unsourced. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:46, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
I thought it was self explanatory. I linked to the efl trophy final '17 on all of them which acts as a reference? If not I will re add them.

No flags beside teams
Hello,
Recently I added flags next to certain football teams that were in the emirates cup in 2007 and 2008 and you promptly removed them. I had said that flags were always added next to teams and you responded with "Since when".
Please refer to any page on the Champions/Europa League from any season or even look at the 2009-2015 Emirates Cup pages and you will remark that there are flags beside each team. <!-- Template:Unsigned IP --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.98.86.129 (talk) 04:43, 6 April 2017 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

The information I put in to his early managerial achievements was cited by the links already put in. I'm getting rather annoyed with the Wikipedia police. I'm not a vandal and only add information which is accurate.

Hi Matty. I'm involved in a bit of an edit war with User:Efc1878 over something simple as timestamps. What can be done about this user who appears not to be able to grasp the concept of correct timestamps? Do I keep reverting them or report them? I've left a good few messages on their talk page already explaining about timestamps and he (guessing it's a male) has been adding the correct timestamps over the last few days. However, he has reverted me when I tried changing the international timestamps which were incorrect. I'll bring it up at WT:FOOTY I suppose. I still haven't joined the project yet, must do that now! Kobbie Mainoo's Height

[edit]

Hi, i corrected the height of Kobbie Mainoo recently, most sources have this wrongly down as 175cm, when in fact is more 183-184cm. There are several stories confirming this and a video of a presenter asking him about EAFC football game mistaking his height, they do a live measurement on this show, Cole Palmer taking the measurement and clarifying this. So please update his measurement to the correct measurement as it seems most computer games and websites are basing their work off of his wikipedia info.

Here are a few links to back this up:

IPA

[edit]

Hello Mattythewhite, Why did you revert the IPA in the football player's articles? --BigBullfrog (talk) 17:58, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@BigBullfrog: I've only removed them when they've been unsourced. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:42, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unlike English, languages like German, Dutch, French, Spanish, and Portuguese have very consistent spelling-to-pronunciation rules. --BigBullfrog (talk) 15:04, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@BigBullfrog: Sounds fair, thanks. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:29, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Scores and results list…"

[edit]

Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 11:11, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Robby.is.on: Maybe, but the way it's worded doesn't feel to me like a properly constructed sentence you'd find in regular prose. If I were to word it like a standalone sentence it would be something like "The scores and results columns list Templatonia's goal tally first, while the score column indicates the score after each Template goal". Mattythewhite (talk) 16:57, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you mean. Seasons greetings, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:51, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ENFA stats

[edit]

Hi, do you still have access to enfa.co.uk player stats? Earlier this year you helped by extracting the career stats for Leon Leuty and I am just coming towards the end of developing an article for his teammate Jackie Stamps, alas, I also can't easily find his career stats. If you have access, will you be able to upload this (and fix any erroneous data in the infobox)? I'm looking to push it towards GA. Thanks. Bungle (talkcontribs) 13:18, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Bungle: Hi, I do indeed. I'll try and do this in the next day or two. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:22, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bungle: Done! Mattythewhite (talk) 22:01, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that's great. I assume Burton aren't included because they weren't in the football league at that time (as in, is it typically to include only football league apps only)? He seemed quite prolific during his time there but I think they may have been non-league, perhaps. Bungle (talkcontribs) 22:14, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bungle: It's fine to include appearance and goal data for non-League teams; I hadn't noticed that there was already a source for the Burton stats in tharticle, so I've now restored them to the infobox and added them to the table. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:53, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ian Wolstenholme

[edit]

You might want to add Ian Wolstenholme to your watchlist; you created the article in 2015 and it has been repeatedly vandalised ever since. I have given it a full overhaul. GiantSnowman 19:50, 30 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
