Darrell Trent Smith (born September 15, 1979) is an American former professional football tight end in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oklahoma. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL draft. He was also a member of the San Francisco 49ers.
Early life

College career
[edit]Smith played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners from 1998 to 2002.[3] He was redshirted in 1998. He was part of the Oklahoma team that won the national championship in 2000.[4] Smith caught 61 passes for 564 yards and six touchdowns in 2001, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors.[5][6] He recorded 46 receptions for 396 yards and five touchdowns in 2002, garnering first-team All-Big 12 recognition.[5][7]
Professional career

He was placed on injured reserve on August 25, 2003. He was placed on the physically unable to perform list on August 30, 2004. Smith was waived by the Ravens on September 3, 2005.[2]
