Hello all, |
|||
I recently stumbled upon the article wife selling, and it definitely needs a rewrite: |
|||
* Intro is too long, too general, and lacks references. |
|||
*While this may have been practiced /is perhaps still practiced, it wouls likely be good to differentiate a little. In most parts of the world, it is no longer possible to "sell a wife", to get a divorce, cover for debt, etc |
|||
*The part on the Roman pater familias is inaccurate at best, and likely wrong. |
|||
In short, the article needs looking at. Likely a rewrite/correction of most of the article. Eptalon (talk) 20:32, 30 August 2023 (UTC) |

WikiProject Feminism was featured in a WikiProject Report in the Signpost on 7 March 2011. |
A new "is AfterEllen a reliable source" discussion (July 2023)
The last one was in July 2020.
New discussion at WP:RS/N > "Is AfterEllen a reliable source for BLP reporting?".
Presented as a question about use in a BLP ... come see where it goes. Pyxis Solitary (yak yak). Ol' homo. 02:20, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
Center for Reproductive Rights
Center for Reproductive Rights article is anemic and out-of-date. It is not reflective of the organization's significance in the fight for abortion rights. The list of cases "in recent years" was from 2013, ten years ago. Meanwhile CRR has dozens of cases currently open, including the highly publicized Zurawski v. State of Texas with 15 plaintiffs who were harmed by the state's anti-abortion law. CRR operates in a number of countries.
Google searching "Center for Reproductive Rights" (entire phrase in quotes) gets 600 hits in NYTimes, 500 in AP News, over 400 in Washington Post. 600k hits on the web in general.
Wikiproject Feminism was listed on the talk page for this article. I also posted at WikiProject Abortion Article improvement & creation requests but that project seems moribund with almost no activity. -- M.boli (talk) 14:35, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
Requesting Copyedit Help at Alliance Against Sexual Coercion
Hi, I found this article via the Random Article link. I've been trying to improve it and I looked into the history and it looks like it was started as a part of a class wikipedia article creation project. It needs more copyediting and work but I am not sure I am able to do everything it needs. Thank you for any help you can give? I hope what I have done so far is useful. Wife-selling needs a review..
Hello all, I recently stumbled upon the article wife selling, and it definitely needs a rewrite:
- Intro is too long, too general, and lacks references.
- While this may have been practiced /is perhaps still practiced, it wouls likely be good to differentiate a little. In most parts of the world, it is no longer possible to "sell a wife", to get a divorce, cover for debt, etc
- The part on the Roman pater familias is inaccurate at best, and likely wrong.
In short, the article needs looking at. Likely a rewrite/correction of most of the article. Eptalon (talk) 20:32, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
