    Shortcuts

    Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in two cases. The first case is restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions (G6) or stale Articles for creation drafts (G13)), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. In the second use case, this page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be "userfied", i.e., restored as a draft or emailed to you; this way, the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). Be clear as to which namespace is intended, when requesting the restoration of a deleted article.

    This means that content deleted after discussion – through deletion processes – may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process but through deletion review instead. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided.

    Do not request that pages or media deleted under speedy deletion criteria F7, F9, F11, U5, A7, A9, A11, G3, G4, G10, G11 or G12 be undeleted here.

    Comments of the editor that recommended a soft delete was as follows:

    "The reliable sources that are included in the article only contain brief very mentions or are transcripts of interviews, neither of which are of use for demonstrating notability."

    There are multiple high quality secondary sources listed in this page. It is true that some articles contain a brief mention, but in some articles the mention is more than brief - such as [1]Bloomberg where the subject is a significant participant in the issue being reported on and is named in the lead sentence of the article. Some articles have a direct quote by the subject but others are quoted too New York Times, but some only have a single quote, and that is from the subject. And several source articles are about the subject: LA Times article has the name of the subject in the title of the article LA Times and The Street.com uses in its title "HotJobs Founder," which is a direct reference to the subject.

    I cannot find anywhere in WP:BIO Wikipedia:Notability_(people) where it states that transcripts of interviews cannot be used to demonstrate notability. I could be missing something, but these are transcripts by the major new organizations themselves, Fox and CNN, not third parties. They are of live televised interviews from a period in time when these news companies did not publish their video content online.

    No doubt the page had not been updated in a long time and could have been improved with more references, but multiple Fox News interviews, together with NY Times, Bloomberg, and Business Week articles indicate some level of notability in business. Additional improvements could include references to more articles and books, including Chapter One of this widely used marketing text book Marketing: Real People Real Choices 2003, this trade magazine Human Resource Executive, and non-English major media publications such as this: Sina.com.

    Comments of the editor that deleted the page was as follows: "being a CEO with no other notable qualities does not satisfy WP:GNG"

    This does not appear correct. The subject has academic credentials, see Google Scholar. Subject has two scientific publications in leading peer reviewed journals and 40 citations in major journals and books, ranging from a citation in the International Journal of Quantum Chemistry to multiple citations in articles published in Nature. In "Hard facts and soft centers," Natures´ author, a leading scientist, states "In their pioneering study, Boylan and Philips....Nature: Hard facts and soft centers. [2]

    Hello, my attention was brought to this page because it had an AFC tag on it so it showed up as an expired draft to be deleted on our "CSD G13" list of pages to be deleted which is generated daily by SDZeroBot. Once I removed the AFC tag, because it wasn't a draft article, the page looked blank. I see now that there was some content on it in Chinese but it was hidden by the code on the page so the page appeared blank and empty. Our unofficial policy is to delete blank pages as long as they aren't newly created so I deleted this as a test page. I have no problems if you want to restore this page but please do not tag it as if it were a draft article or it will come up for deletion again in six months. I don't know of a way to tag a page for AFC review and have the bot ignore it, this is how it selects pages eligible for G13 speedy deletion. I'm sorry if my actions caused any inconvenience.     Good evening, I had planned on conducting an improvement of this entry pending receipt of a book published on Constable McGee. I have a rough draft of the manuscript by the author, but I'm uncomfortable citing it as it is not the final published source. However, I did not appreciate the initial candor and subsequent interactions with a third party whether intentional or unintentional from a previous query related to the restoration request. I volunteer my time as everyone does, and make sure to interact with everyone cordially.     i guess it was my misunderstanding, yet, kindly restore it as it is our school page, there are several other schools too with similar page like St John's, Marhauli, Varanasi.

    Your argument is "Whataboutism" and that does not hold water. I will not restore it at this time, though this doesn't prevent another admin from doing so.     After I submitted my article about Ciaotannia for review,(yesterday evening), Wikipedia put a notice on my sandbox saying in part, " Review waiting please be patient this may take eight weeks or more since draughts are reviewed in no specific order there are 2020 pending submissions waiting for review. If the submission is declined then the reason we posted here in the meantime you can continue to improve the submission by editing normally." I expected a wait of 2 months before I had a reply.

    Instead, this morning I had an email, saying my article was flagged for rejection.. and when I looked for the article, it was already deleted.

    How is it that my article somehow jumped the queue of 2020 pending submissions and was flagged and then deleted forthwith? Was that done by a person or a robot? "This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals."

    Anyone who actually read my article would be aware of this.

    Are we to believe that Wikipedia's goals are in alignment with those of the Gay Kingdom of the Coral Sea?

    The message I received by email took me to a page that said, "If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted." However, when looked, the page was already deleted and there was no "button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion" to push.

    I suspect the page was deleted automatically; it was done so quickly. (The wiki email to me arrived at 20.44 9th of March, but the content said, "Again, welcome! Cahk (talk) 09:44, 9 March 2024 (UTC)," (around the time I submitted my article.

    Contrary to what the message said, I think my article IS closely related to Wikipedia's stated goal of "to create a free encyclopedia; indeed, the largest encyclopedia in history, both in terms of breadth and in terms of depth. We also want Wikipedia to be a reliable resource. —Larry Sanger[2]" Without my article about Ciaotannia, Wikipedia will not have the breadth and depth enough acknowledge CIAO People or the book written about them and their country, Ciaotannia.
