Kassandreia or Cassandreia (Greek: Κασσάνδρεια, former name Valta or Βάλτα) etymologically means "town in the swamps." It is the capital of the municipality of Kassandra in the center of the peninsula. Relatively unknown because of its zero tourist attraction but full of life in winter.
