The annual Chembai Parthasarathy Ekadasi Music festival, in memory of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bagavathar, takes place in Kottayi in February-March. One of Chembai's disciples, [[K. J. Yesudas]] makes it a point to attend this event every year.
