Akpowfu is a town in Nkanu east L.G.A of Enugu state, Nigeria. It is made up of three main villages. Obodo Uvuru, Ndiuno and Ajamee Uno. It is being ruled by Igwe Dume Nnamoko a.k.a uvuru one of Obodo Uvuru. It has two main streams, Iyaba and Etavu.

Akpowfu is surrounded by some villages like Amagunze, Akpugo and Oruku and they are very rich in culture and tradition. One learned Italian Kenechukwu Nnamoko in his article insisted that one day Akpawfu will produce its own governor in order to get social amenities.
