Small articles
Hello. Please consider refraining from creating several small articles at a time. It's confusing to readers. Will all these thirteen houses, for example, likely grow to be good articles? -- Perfecto 02:02, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, in fact. I intend to expand upon them as soon as I've double-checked all of my information. Some will have less information than others, but as the fourth book in the series will be out in a few months, there's no telling how much more information may be learned then about any or all of the Houses.

I'm a big fan of this series, and yet... it is not quite as important to literary history as, say, the Lord of the Rings trilogy. There are a LOT of articles, as was pointed out above, and your answer was hang on, they were going to get expanded. Several months have went by and the articles are still mostly stubs. I had suggested a while back that some of the articles be merged, for example, the 12 houses could be merged into one article, the several noble houses could be merged, and all the characters except the top 6 or so into minor characters and so forth. - Just because it's not as large a fandom doesn't mean there isn't a demand for the information -- and I am going to get to expanding everything to include all the information I consider pertinent. It just takes a long time to go through each book. I think you can see that, in the few months that have passed, I've made quite a lot of progress. I suppose I just don't see why there's such a pressing need to condense everything. I may well need or want to condense things in the future, but I'd far rather wait until I've actually gotten everything up, and then see what articles can be merged together, rather than doing it now, when I've still got three books to get through (one of which only came out last week and I haven't even read yet), and then have to undo it later when I've new information to add. If you've read this series, you know how very many characters there are; there is a minor characters page, where I'm putting all the ones that really aren't of consequence, but I think to add in all the ones but the top six or so would make that article itself ridiculously large -- probably well beyond the maximum character limit. And cutting out all that information would, I think, be a mistake. I aim to make these articles as comprehensive as the ones for larger fandoms are; just because there are fewer people seeking this information doesn't mean they should get any less.
