Featured Article promotion

Congratulations!
Thanks for all the work you did in making Hair (Lady Gaga song) a Featured Article! Your work is much appreciated.

In the spirit of celebration, you may wish to comment on another Featured article candidate... or perhaps review one of the Good Article nominees, as there is currently a backlog. Any help is appreciated! All the best, – Quadell (talk)

Nadia Ali FLC

Hello Legolas, thanks for your efforts at WP:FLC and I hope you're having a good vacation. You left a lot of notes at Nadia Ali discography's FLC which it appears have been resolved. If you have the time, could you revisit and let us know your current thoughts? Many thanks. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:01, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, is your oppose to Radiohead discography still active? The Rambling Man (talk) 19:07, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thirdly, your comments at List of awards and nominations received by Kamal Haasan appear to have been addressed, if you'd be kind enough to revisit?! The Rambling Man (talk) 19:09, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have replied to Radiohead discography and my oppose is still there. As for the others, I will comment shortly. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:57, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's Me :D

The Half Barnstar
I award you this Right Half of the Barnstar for your extraordinary work in collaborating with me to bring List of awards and nominations received by Madonna to Featured List status. Bluesatellite (talk) 01:26, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey boy, sorry for a very late reply. I'm no longer editing in Wikipedia due to my business in real life. I'm so surprised that you have finished my work and promote it to FL status, you did it more than Lead :D, thank you. Bluesatellite (talk) 01:26, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He he. That was a really long list and a pretty difficult lead. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:57, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sales discrepancy

Hey, would you happen to why there is such a discrepancy in albums sales between Billboard and the RIAA for Shania Twain. Billboard says she sold 34 million albums while the RIAA says 48 million certified units. I know Up! adds double of what it really sold, but even if it would be left at 43 million. Which one should we trust? -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 15:59, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Overshipment. Her label didnot have a crystal ball to predict that sales would go down teh drains compared to what it was in the late 90s and early 2000s. Hence her certifications are nowhere near her sales. Both are trustable. Her SoundScan numbers are correct, while her actual sales would be somewhere near 36 million albums, counting the BMG music club sales, which are not counted as part of SoundScan. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:57, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hey, If you are interested in creating a WikiProject:Rihanna, I would be greatfull if you give your vote here. Thanks Tomica1111 (talk) 15:30, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Count it in. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:57, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

Hi, Legolas. I understand that you are very busy and having a great vacation, but it would be really nice for you to take a look at this. I am in no hurry, so don't feel rushed. I am currently doing a major expansion to the "Love the Way You Lie" article right here. I was wondering if you can give me thoughts on a possible Did you know? taken from the draft.

The draft cites an interview with Vibe as a source. This is my first DYK so it would be nice for you to give me a pointer, as I see that you have nominated a few DYK's yourself and having a triple crown. Again, if you are busy, I completely understand. Thanks, —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 22:47, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing, I proposed an Eminem WikiProject. Could you put a vote in for Oppose or Support? Thanks for your opinion. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 18:02, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm would love to. "Stan" is my favorite song. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:08, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of accolades received by Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World/archive1

Hi there! A little while ago you made some great comments on my first FLC, List of accolades received by The Young Victoria, greatly helping promote it to FL status. My current nomination (found at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of accolades received by Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World/archive1) is currently needing reviews. Would you be interested in looking it over? I realize you're on vacation, so no worries if you're busy. I'm just confident the article can make it to FL, and want to ensure enough editors see it. Thanks very much, and please let me know if you ever need any FL help. Ruby2010 comment! 03:04, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2011 July newsletter

We are half way through the penultimate round of this year's WikiCup; there is less than a month to go before we have our final 8. Our pool leaders are New Zealand Adabow (submissions) (Pool A, 189 points) and Russia PresN (submissions) (Pool B, 165 points). The number of points required to reach the next round is not clear at this time; there are some users who still do not have any recorded points. Please remember to update your submissions' pages promptly. In addition, congratulations to PresN, who scored the first featured topic points in the competition for his work on Thatgamecompany related articles. Most points this round generally have, so far, come from good articles, with only one featured article (White-bellied Sea Eagle, from Scotland Casliber (submissions)) and two featured lists (Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story, from PresN and Grammy Award for Best Native American Music Album, from Another Believer (submissions)). Points for Did You Know and good article reviews round out the scoring. No points have been awarded for In the News, good topics or featured pictures this round, and no points for featured sounds or portals have been awarded in the entire competition. On an unrelated note, preparation will be beginning soon for next year's WikiCup- watch this space!

There is little else to be said beyond the usual. Please list anything you need reviewing on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, so others following the WikiCup can help, and please do help if you can by providing reviews for the articles listed there. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews generally at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup- points are, of course, offered for reviews at GAC. Two final notes: Firstly, please remember to state your participation in the WikiCup when nominating articles at FAC. Finally, some WikiCup-related statistics can be seen here and here. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Ask

Hi. Hope you are enjoying Holidays. Should i include this in 4? Jivesh Talk2Me 15:21, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Take your call on this, you should know better. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:08, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is needed to show that both parties agreed that they still have an amicable relationship. But what is keeping me pondering is whether i should include the fact that her dad criticized hoe 4 is being handled. Jivesh Talk2Me 09:19, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Her daddy is not a label head or an industry prognosticator, hence his upsets don't hold a candle to her career or 4 at all. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:53, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you genius. Lol. Jivesh Talk2Me 09:54, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

American Life

Finally I have completed the American Life article and references!! Took a couple of months and spent a bit of money on Madonna books. If it isnt too much to ask for could you look through it and mark any room for improvement or add any new information, I would really love this one to be a GA. PS, hope your enjoying your vacation :-) --FeuDeJoie (talk) 22:33, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A quick comment of mine is that the lead claims that the album was met with generally positive critical response, when it clearly received mixed reviews at best.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 22:59, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see some ref issues (broken book citations, unformatted refs etc.) Overall, a great job :) Novice7 (talk) 06:01, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Feud, nice work, but still some content is lacking like more of the composition, the background and the recording infos. Don't nominate it now, I will haul it over shortly. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:08, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

The highest grossing tours in history page needs a bit of changes, Kiss being one of them. There farwell tour in adjusted dollars grossed around 205 million, check the official wikipedia page for reference.

Hello

Hello Lego! Nice to see you back! How was the trip/vacation? Well, I have a small question. How do we use the phrase "peace of mind" in a sentence? "Yoga gave him a peace of mind" or some other way? Novice7 (talk) 10:53, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Trip was fine, going away again soon. For the phrase you can use it like, "Practicing yoga offered him peace of mind". — Legolas (talk2me) 11:14, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Back to work, I guess? Glad to know the trip was fine :) Thanks for clearing my doubt Lego =) Novice7 (talk) 11:32, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, one more question. Martina McBride released a single titled "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" a few weeks ago. Some fansites claim that the album would also be titled I'm Gonna Love You Through It. The song has already charted on the Country Songs chart, and if, the album is also titled I'm Gonna Love You Through It, how can I identify the primary topic> I've read before that the album is usually the primary topic... Thanks, Novice7 (talk) 11:54, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the album is always the precedent topic, hence wait for official confirmation. — Legolas (talk2me) 11:58, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Avi! See ya around :) Novice7 (talk) 12:02, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Madonna UK year-end sales

You have engaged in edit-warring on the articles Hard Candy, Celebration and Confessions on a Dance Floor. As pointed out on the discussion page of each article (which you have so far ignored) www.ukchartsplus.co.uk are not an official UK charts website and therefore cannot be used a valid source for end-of-year sales (their own website makes it clear they are not part of the UK's Official Charts Company). The British Phonographic Industry track sales of records in the UK as they are the official recording industry authority. They certify records based on tracked sales and also prepare official end-of-year charts for the industry. They are the only source that can be used for such claims. 88.104.25.59 (talk) 12:06, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The UKChartsPlus publishes the Year-end charts in accordance to the OCC, this is the same chart that is published in Music Week, in NME and in Mojo also. The BPI do not certify records based on track sales, they are strictly on shipments. Get your facts straight before making unnecessary edits. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:09, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
UKchartsplus.co.uk actually state on their own website that the end-of-year charts are their own publication (http://www.ukchartsplus.co.uk/year_end_2010.htm). They are an unofficial charts website who are run by "four chartwatchers" (i.e. music fans). They have nothing to do with the Official Charts Company, Music Week, or the British Phonographic Industry, and are therefore not a valid source for sales claims. And it is you who should get your facts straight before you start edit warring. Again. 88.104.25.59 (talk) 12:14, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you want I can direct you to WP:CHARTS where you can clarify this for once and for all. And no, the BPI is for shipments not sales. Again, get your facts right. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:17, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid you are still wrong and WP:CHARTS is not applicable in this matter because there is nothing there about year-end charts which is the issue here (nor is UKchartsplus.co.uk on the approved list of sources). The BPI track both shipments and sales, and their Top 40 all time best sellers will show this. Robbie Williams' "I've Been Expecting You" has been certified 10x Platinum by the BPI (3 million copies shipped by 2004) but actual sales are only 2.56 million as listed in their most recent top 40 all-time best sellers list in 2009 (http://www.bpi.co.uk/assets/files/top%2040%20albums.pdf).
