Revision as of 20:51, 28 February 2015
Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.
This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page.
Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.
- Instructions for special cases
- G13. Abandoned Articles for creation submissions - see Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion/G13 for instructions.
To contest deletions that have have already been discussed (in particular, at Articles for deletion), or that are likely to be controversial, please make a request at Wikipedia:Deletion review instead. |

I, Giallino83, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Giallino83 (talk) 13:59, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Giallino83 This was previously restored back in june and it slipped back into G13 eligibility and deletion again. How are you going to prevent that from hapening again if the page is restored again? Hasteur (talk) 14:04, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- Giallino83 The band is clearly notable, so I'm inclined to restore the draft. We do need some assurance that you are going to do something to make the article acceptable though. There is no point to restore it if you aren't going to do any work (like the last time it was restored). --ThaddeusB (talk) 16:00, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Sorry! I'm Italian and just checked the Italian WIKI day by day, not the American one. I did an huge mistake. I thought the page had not been "accepted" for some reason. Pity on me! Restore the page. I'm ready to add an English bio for the band ASAP. Giallino83 (talk)
- Done --ThaddeusB (talk) 22:32, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
Added the article. Hope you like it. Will add new contents and picture within days. Giallino83 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 22:53, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
- The page appeared to have a copy of a blog entry. And now you have blanked it. Does that mean you want it deleted again? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:28, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- For the record, the page was restarted at Draft:Il Giardino dei Semplici (band). I deleted the confusing redirects and blank pages (someone accidentally moved it from wikipedia talk to draft talk instead of draft). --ThaddeusB (talk) 15:11, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

- The Wikipedia is not a platform for your recruitment, it is here to cover topics that have been covered in reliable sources. Tarc (talk) 14:36, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not done and will not be done The page was so unambiguously promotional that there's no way that we could restore it. I do have to warn you that Wikipedia is not like Linkedin, where you can create database-type articles with the intent to recruit people, so any page would have to be neutrally written and meet the WP:GNG policy. - Not done This was deleted as WP:G11, unambiguous promotion, and as such cannot be restored. It was actually so promotional that it was to the point where it wouldn't even be something we'd restore to the draftspace. I have no problem with you creating a new version of the article, but it must be neutral and it should also not be written completely in uppercase letters. clonazolam
This is a notable benzodiazepine which is related to other similar ones in that class of drugs. It is appearing more frequently as a designer drug of the research chemical class though it wasn't explicitly synthesized to get around drug laws as it's creation was documented by Hoffman La Roche in the 1980s. If etizolam and phenazepam and the myriad of other benzos with unique effects this one is notable too. Also since people are using it it helps described the basic known properties and chemical structures in an accessible place. If you disagree, please tell me why every other obscure non prescription benzo gets a page but only a few you approve of. With forum posts I can prove that it is being use recreationally, but those aren't particularly notable sources. But for safety safe there is no reason not to have a page. -Wgfcrafty (talk) 12:40, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clonazolam, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Joe Decker (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Yunshui 雲水 14:33, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Our "notability" guidelines generally are based upon the availability of specific types of in-depth, independent source material, and what is specifically needed there, particularly for technical/medical articles, can sometimes be a bit opaque. You can take a look at WP:GNG for the policy specifics, but in practical terms, for a drug, I'd suggest asking at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. That group is active and knowledgable about resources that may, if you are correct, help show that this topic meets our notability guidelines. The general consensus of the discussion, as Yunshui points out, is that it does not, so the burden of proof is now on you to show it. Best of luck, --j⚛e deckertalk 16:02, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
Option pool shuffle
The article Option Pool Shuffle [2] was deleted as considered "non-notable neologism". I contest this:
Firstly, non-notable: the Option Pool Shuffle impacts any startup or small company that is looking raise money from a VC. The Option Pool Shuffle can swing 10% of the value from one party to another (the VC to the Founders and vice-versa). Given that some $48 billion of VC investment [3] was made in 2013, and this has grown in 2014. The Option Pool shuffle has a c.$5 billion impact every year.
Secondly, neologism: the term has been in the use in the VC industry for many years. And a quick search yields the following articles that describe this directly: (1) http://venturehacks.com/articles/option-pool-shuffle (2) http://avc.com/2009/11/valuation-and-option-pool/ (3) http://www.bothsidesofthetable.com/2010/07/22/want-to-know-how-vcs-calculate-valuation-differently-from-founders/ (4) http://www.slideshare.net/WilmerHale/option-poolshuffle (5) http://www.reportally.com/cap-table-university/share-option-pool-shuffle
Please can you reinstate this article.

Botchamania
This article was previously deleted under guideline A7 in 2009 by an administrator who has retired from Wikipedia. Since then, Botchamania has exploded in popularity, even becoming recognized by mainstream and independent wrestlers alike. I have reason to believe that this is both credible and significant. -Sasukemario (talk) 20:34, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- Done I have restored the most promising version of the page to Draft:Botchamania since it did legitimately meet A7. Once it has been revised with sources, feel free to move it back to mainspace yourself, Sasukemario (or submit through AfC if you prefer). I won't scold the page protecting admin since he is no longer around, but let this be a good reminder to other admins that indefinitely page protection is not necessary and is counter-productive: things can gain notability over time. Instead, protect the page for a year or so (that is what I do). Such protection is sufficient to discourage 99% of problematic users while leaving the door open for legitimate recreation if the subject gains notability later. --ThaddeusB (talk) 20:49, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Article deletions via sticky-prod will not be unilaterally overturned; reliable sources need to be provided in order to overturn the deletion. Note that we need sources that have no connection to her to satisfy our notability criterion for inclusion, and that you cannot use her as a source for anything but the most uncontroversial information. I added seven links to the talk page, article was deleted before bringing those in as refs that establish notability. Happy for this to be taken to AFD for more time to improve article --- Aronzak (talk) 04:50, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- If GB fan has no opposition, I have no true issue with this being taken to AfD as opposed to a speedy deletion. However I do have to caution you Aronzak in that you only put WP:PRIMARY sources in the article, meaning that you used sources that are written by Lyon or one of his representatives. Primary sources cannot show notability regardless of what they assert- you need to show coverage in independent and reliable sources like newspaper articles about Lyon in order to show notability. Showing GB some non-primary sources would go a long way towards helping prove that Lyon could survive an AfD. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:54, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Robert Connor Dawes Fund
I recently attempted to create an article on Wikipedia on the Robert Connor Dawes Fund. As it was my first article I wasn’t sure how to go about it and published it before I had finished in the hopes that I could edit it later. I know this doesn’t seem like a smart idea but I just wanted to see if it worked first. As I finished typing it up in Word I saw the notice that it was going to be deleted. I have fixed up the article and added plenty of reputable third party references, which is what it was missing. I also proved that it was definitely a notable organisation. How would I go about getting it reviewed and possibly getting the page back up? Would I be able to send it to someone? -124.190.117.53 (talk) 05:28, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- Done @Daniella826: This was actually moved to User:Daniella826/Robert Connor Dawes Fund, where you nominated it for deletion via WP:G7 by blanking the page. I've restored it and tagged it for AfC, but the big issue here is that the only sources on the page are WP:PRIMARY, meaning that they were written by the fund itself. Notability can only be established by coverage in independent and reliable sources like newspaper articles about the fund. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:51, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- NOTE According to WP:G7, blanking in the userspace is not considered a deletion request. Also @Wtmitchell: as the original deleting admin. -- GB fan 12:06, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

11 London
Fully referenced from 3rd party sites, non-promotional language used, similar posts exist for other agencies, client base is of international standing e.g. clients include multi-billion dollar turnover pharmaceutical companies -Hunter190676 (talk) 15:06, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not done - sources such as linked in are not independent of the subject and the reason for deletion was no indication of importance, not prmotional language. As a company that just launched this month, 11 London is VERY unlikely to meet our inclusion requirements. You may request that the deleting admin (User:Deb) restore a copy for you in draft space if you like, but it would almost certainly be a waste of your time per WP:TOOSOON. --ThaddeusB (talk) 15:31, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
The company name may be new, but it is a relaunch of one that is 8 years old. If we remove references to social networks and just leave the other citations would that stand give the article a better chance? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hunter190676 (talk • contribs) 15:54, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- No, removed linkedin and the company's website (which combined accounted for 4/6 references) won't help. The remaining 2 sources are routine "company launches" announcements and don't establish notability per WP:CORPDEPTH. I can restore the article to draft space (where it will have to be approved by a third party editor before it can be returned to mainspace) if you want, but again it is almost certainly a waste of time. --ThaddeusB (talk) 20:03, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
Marcius Melhem
There is a page entitled Marcelo Adnet on an actor. If this page has significant importance, Marcius Melhem page also has. I know Marcius Melhem page has little information, but I am here to develop it. -Jhonas Boeno (talk) 15:27, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- Done - While the article technically met A7 as written, FreeRangeFrog could have exercised some discretion here given that 1) the subject is clearly notable and 2) there was a template at the top of the page requesting a translation from the Portuguese Wikipedia (which has plenty of sources). I'm sure he won't object to the page being restored to draft space and so I will go ahead and do so. The page can now be found at Draft:Marcius Melhem. Feel free to move it back to mainspace after it is better developed, or submit it the articles for creation to have an experience editor review it first. --ThaddeusB (talk) 15:37, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know that I'd characterize that as clearly notable, but I have no objection to it being restored if the creator feels the subject meets the inclusion guidelines. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 23:20, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Draft:Stormy Atmosphere
Good day,
On 20 February 2015 my article was deleted due to a suspicion of a copyright violation.
This is the link to an article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Silverray123/sandbox
About the copyright violations - It was a huge misunderstanding actually.
The text in the link http://progresja.com/events/mike-terrana-usa-2/?lang=en
was actually taken from the original biography of the band. The owners of the website were the ones who copy-pasted it when making the advertisement for the bands' tour with Mike Terrana in December 2014.
They don't own the copyright on that text, it's the band's original bio text.
I thought it's okay to citate few words from the original bio of the band, when I write about the band.
Hope that this explains the issue, therefore my article can be brought back from deletition and resubmitted.
Thank you in advance,
Silverray123 (talk) 12:04, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
<moved here from Wikipedia talk:Requests for undeletion> --- Ed (Edgar181) 13:13, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Silverray123:, no it is not acceptable to copy text from the band's official biography. I restored the page since there is definitely some original work there by you, but it will need to be completely rewritten to be acceptable as an article. Copying even one sentence from another source is a copyright violation. You must rewrite everything in your own words. --ThaddeusB (talk) 16:04, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that summarizes what reliable sources have written about in detail. That does not appear to include the CloudOpting project. Today, after 4 month survival on wikipedia, my page having URL: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suvigya_Sharma get deleted. It was really very shocking for me after reading "promotional material". Suvigya Sharma is my brother and he is renowned artist who got lots of national and international prize for his great artistic work. According to Wikipedia policy i had not put any promotional links instead i had kept links of renowned news channels in reference section which is supported by Wikipedia.
Even my page was patrolled by Wikipedia Team with green signal "Suvigya Sharma was patrolled by DragonflySixtyseven". It's not my intention to force you to change your decision after all you are senior authority of this prestigious online media. However as a user its my curiosity to know what is basic reason or where i lack.
I dare to post the short bio of my brother as i read several biography for renowned people. That's the main reason behind the publishing not for any promotion.
Thanks in Advance for your generous support. I am waiting for precious support which resolve my curiosity. -Atulkumar.1990 (talk) 16:46, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- Note: This page was deleted under speedy deletion criterion G11, indicating an page that was irredeemably promotional or blatant advertising. - @Atulkumar.1990: The amount of time the article had stood (6 weeks, not 4 months for the record) is not relevant. It looks like you started the article in draft space and when it was declined you copied it to mainspace. That is within your "rights", but it does mean the relevant history is not 4 months and also means at least one user found it unacceptable as is. That said, I do rather disagree with Yunshui's conclusion that it was unambiguous advertising, but do agree that it was promotional. I am going to restore it and return it to draft space. Jeremy is correct that writing with a conflict of interest is highly discouraged. However, if you use the draft process whereby a third party provides input and ultimately moves it to mainspace if it meets the requirements, then a COI can be tolerated. --ThaddeusB (talk) 20:46, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

because another person has mistakenly delete the content -Akchodvadiya (talk) 06:44, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not done It looks like the content was not accidentally or mistakenly deleted, it was deleted per WP:A7 as an "Article about a company, corporation or organization, which does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject". As such, it cannot be restored through REFUND and you will have to ask one of the deleting admins (Verrai and Deb) if they would restore the content. If they refuse, you will have to go through deletion review to seek restoration. Offhand I can see why it was deleted, as the article did not show how the company passed WP:CORP. It also somewhat comes across like you were trying to create a LinkedIn or CrunchBase type database entry, given the slight promotional phrasing and the links to all of the company's social media sites. I do have to warn you that we're WP:NOTLINKEDIN in that we cannot have an entry on every company, only the ones that pass notability guidelines. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:49, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below -Dchauvette58 (talk) 16:09, 26 February 2015 (UTC) I was looking through a page that listed local historical societies in the US and noted that New Hampshire did not have any societies listed. Having worked at the Manchester Historic Association (MHA) before, I edited the page and included MHA in the list. When I searched for the MHA in Wikipedia I did not find any listing for it. I have created a page for the MHA so that when someone looks for it, they can find it. I intend to add the sidebars including name of director, website, etc. when I can figure out how to do it. I was attempting to figure out the process when i published the site.
I do not know of any references yet for the MHA that I could make. I liken the site to many that I have seen concerning say a local high school or college. It is my belief that at some point those who know more about the MHA will begin to edit and add. Let me know what I need to add to make the site acceptable and more importantly, add the specific links showing me how to do it and I'll be happy to comply.

- Dchauvette58: Actually the page wasn't blank and did contain content, but the issue was that it was a copyright violation of the official website. Please understand that we cannot accept copyrighted material at Wikipedia and in order to use the text you must file a ticket at WP:ORTS that gives us permission to use this material. However even if the MHA is willing to give permission the material would still need to be substantially re-written because of how it was written. Phrases like "Conscious that the achievements of its past leaders were becoming fast fading memories" do not fit the neutral point of view policy on Wikipedia and can be considered promotional. This is kind of the catch of using copyrighted material- in most cases the material was written in order to promote the topic on their/its own website and as such isn't considered to be appropriate for an encyclopedic entry. I took a look at the article and arguably it didn't meet G11 (advertising), but it definitely did meet the other deletion reason, A7 (no indication of importance). CardFlex may be notable based on my search, but mostly because the FTC sued them. If you insist on creating an article, you can start over in draft space at Draft:CardFlex and submit it for review through the articles for creation process which reduces the problems with conflicts of interest by having a third party review the article for neutrality. However, any unbiased article on the company must cover the FTC lawsuit, so perhaps you would be better off not having an article. --ThaddeusB (talk) 16:53, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

- Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I do have to warn you that notability is WP:NOTINHERITED by the company having worked with notable persons (it's generally assumed that firms of this nature will work with someone who is notable), so it's still entirely possible that the page may be nominated for deletion in other formats. The best way to prevent this from happening is to find sources that focus on the company and not on the people they've represented. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 02:56, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

- @Saamhimself2: Hey Sam. This page is only for requesting undeletion, that is the restoration of article that have already been deleted; a request to not delete a page that exists but is tagged to be deleted has no place here. When you saw the speedy deletion template placed in the article, it had a button in the middle center that said "contest this speedy deletion" and linked to the article's talk page. That is where deletion should be contested and I see you actually used it. In any event, the speedy deletion was declined.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 14:22, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- This is a good opportunity to remind Flat Out and anyone else reading that it is not a good idea to tag articles with A3 within a few minutes of creation. Quite often, new users hit save to make sure it works and a quick tagging for deletion can discourage them finishing the article or even cause them to give up on Wikipedia entirely. There is no rush to delete a blank/near-blank page (it does no harm) - it is much better to wait for at least an hour of inactivity to make such a speedy nomination. --ThaddeusB (talk) 15:36, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- @ThaddeusB: I created {{Uw-hasty}} for informing patrollers. It doesn't get enough use so since you (like me) are concerned with this issue, I thought I'd let you know about it, if you weren't already aware. (We also have in our arsenal {{hasty}}, which I created for use when a page has been tagged but has not yet been deleted, and {{CSD5}} which is for when you are going to possibly fix the initial entry yourself.) Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 18:40, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

- @Saisundarlatha: Done - restored to Draft:Master Kumar where you can work on it. The only claim of WP:Notability seems to be as an actor, and I doubt whether he meets the requirements of WP:NACTOR. A lot of the gossipy personal material and promotional language needs to be cut - Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a social-networking or gossip site. Good referencing is required - see WP:Verifiability, summarised as "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source". This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... We are just starting this page and we plan to make it a full source of information for Plasti-Dip users world wide. The first sentence was just a test since we have never created a WiKi page before.
Please do not delete this page. I will keep updating the content as much as I can. "Save page" button below -PlastidipS (talk) 19:18, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Not done @PlastidipS: There are a number of problems here. First, the article declared it was aimed at helping users of Plasti Dips. That isn't what Wikipedia is for - this is an encylopedia, not a how to guide. Second, the article said where to buy the product - that will almost always be considering an attempt at advertising whether or not it was intended as such. Third, your username implies group ownership and will need to be changes. Finally, if you have a conflict of interest here, you should read WP:COI and strongly consider not proceeding. If you understand all of the above, I suggest you create a new draft article at Draft:Plasti Dip and use the articles for creation process to get input from experienced editors without the threat of rapid deletion. (I have verified the subject is likely notable; that is, it fulfills our requirements for inclusion.) See also WP:Your first article for straightforward advice about writing on Wikipedia. --ThaddeusB (talk) 20:09, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- @PlastidipS: The article's content was also a blatant copyright infringement of the product's website. If you do create another article, you must not copy and paste copyrighted text again (yes, this is true even if you own the copyright – because we would require you to release the text to the world under a suitably free copyright license or into the public domain, before it could be used here, even if it was text that was appropriate for pasting here, which it was not).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 20:25, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

I would have moved this to draft space, but it is a copyright violation from the organization's website. Wikipedia cannot hold copyrighted material without a formal copyright release, and in any case this is not a place for organizations to tell the world about themselves by posting copies of their own material. Article was deleted on the basis it failed WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL, which it did at the time but the player has made his debut in a competitive match (2015 AFC Cup) for a professional team Persib Bandung, so the article would meet the notability requirements. - @Dis Pater 24: Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about music. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning musicians or music groups will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject.
