Small poke
Just want you to know that a few small changes will be implement to MOS:TV, based on the most recent rewrite discussion, in case you would like to voice any opinions regarding them before they are implemented. Once those are done, the next section to cover will be the first "Image" section, with the first "Lead" section and everyone's favorite topic, "Plot", on deck. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 05:41, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

Disney Channel ratings opinions
<small>First, Nyuszika, thanks for the help above.</small> Anyway, can you and IJBall, since he's had a lot of opinions on this subject, offer your feedback on this? Why do you suppose ratings for Disney Channel shows—or at least some as, without taking a glance at other shows, past or present, and refreshing my memory, I can't really say for sure—seem to always jump up and down, even for really popular shows like K.C. Undercover? For example, take a look at here. Using the last five episodes, we go from 1.18 for July 24, then up to 1.88 for August 7, then up to 1.97 for August 14, then down to 1.31 for September 11, and now down to 1.11 for September 18. Nickelodeon's ratings appear to be more consistent for the most part—again, I can't say for sure as I'd need to take a glance over its other shows, past or present, to refresh my memory. : I attribute it mostly to a combination of a young audience (i.e. one that doesn't stick to a "schedule" like an adult audience would) and multiple viewing options (e.g. either watching an episode later off the DVR, or just watching later on Disney Channel as they rerun episodes a million times, or on Disney Channel online). --IJBall <small>(contribs • talk)</small> 13:42, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

::: Yeah, not sure what's the difference with Nickelodeon. One thing I've noticed is that instead of removing old episodes, Watch Disney started restricting them again to those with a TV provider login (they start off as restricted, then available to everyone for a while, then back), at least for Backstage. I don't think it's visible on the website, but the API lists a 2031 expiry date for those episodes. Of course, they might pull them manually before that date. Dunno if you've already seen it, but if you haven't you might be interested in this... Cheers! --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:27, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

@IJBall: I haven't seen the trailer yet, but I've heard about season 2 and it's already in the article. nyuszika7h (talk) 16:28, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
The trailer mentions two new characters by name (but unfortunately doesn't ID the actresses playing them...). --IJBall (contribstalk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:30, 9 August 2016‎ (UTC)
@IJBall: Yeah, I guess we'll just have to wait until August 12 to confirm it (though someone else has tried to add Ember's actress earlier – unsourced, of course). Also this suggests the second season will have 6 episodes, though it's not verified and the release date is close anyway so we'll also find that out for sure soon. nyuszika7h (talk) 16:58, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Four Tilda's

Hi @Nyuszika7H, I been aware of the four Tilda to create a signature for some while, since the get go, but there is some code in my browser that stops certain abusive JavaScript and that stops the four tilda working. Generally before I would double edit, to fix it, but it takes so much. The way the code runs on WP is not conjusive to good security on the client, and I'm not removing the HTTP pipeline filter that protects me. This is four tilda working scope_creep 13:10, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

(edit conflict) @Scope creep: The expansion is done on server side, so I doubt that's causing an issue. Try going to your preferences, clearing out the "Signature:" box (or set it to "scope_creep" [without quotes] if you wish to have it lowercased), and make sure the "Treat the above as wiki markup" box is not checked. nyuszika7h (talk) 13:13, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
I thought server side as well, like asp.net, but I tried to fix it two years ago. I'll take a look. I don't know how the quotes appeared. scope_creep 13:18, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
@Scope creep: There are no quotes in your signature, just wanted to clarify that you don't need to include those. nyuszika7h (talk) 13:19, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
Coolio. That is now working fine. Scope creep (talk) 13:28, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Re: Backstage

Now that makes things even weirder. I'm the one who added the credits there, and I can clearly confirm he was credited as RT! Amaury (talk | contribs) 17:10, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

@Amaury: That's strange. I have episodes from three different sources (I don't have a legal way to watch most foreign shows here without waiting for syndication, and one source stopped and the other skipped some episodes, so...) The first two episodes are from iTunes, where he's credited as "Randall Thorne". Episode 9 is from Disney UK, where he's credited as "RT!". I just confirmed on Watch Disney, and there he's indeed credited as "RT!" in episode 1, 2 and 9. Someone would need to check in Canada, but unless we find that he's credited as "Randall Thorne" there, we should probably go by the original broadcast as usual and add hidden notes about this situation. nyuszika7h (talk) 17:28, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
I watched them when they aired on Disney Channel, which I'm sure gets their copies of the show directly from Canada, the original broadcaster, where I know for a fact it was RT! I was going to have you look on Putlocker, but it looks like they show Randall Thorne as well. I'm willing to bet that's why you only saw one episode as RT! That one was from the Canada airing, though it is strange that another region would change the credits of a show they acquired. Amaury (talk | contribs) 17:47, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
@Amaury: It's really strange, because I'm pretty sure the iTunes episodes are from the US region too, so it's strange because they usually follow what Disney US does, with one-hour specials and stuff, but in this case they didn't. On both Disney US and UK, he's credited as "RT!", so it's safe to assume it's the same in Canada, I guess. nyuszika7h (talk) 18:04, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Honestly, I think I'd advise just boldly redirecting that to List of Sofia the First episodes. I don't see anything there that is worth keeping, especially as it is entirely unsourced. And it's not worth WP:PROD'ing or WP:AfD'ing either. --IJBall (contribstalk) 04:38, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

@IJBall: At first I thought it's some weird pilot that happens to have the same name as an episode, but now I saw the date and realized it is about the episode and has absolutely nothing except the short lead and the plot... So yeah, thanks for the hint. nyuszika7h (talk) 09:16, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Table of contents

can you help me with the table of contents 76.170.9.79 (talk) 06:29, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

It doesn't show up until there are at least four headings in the article, because it's not really necessary at that point. Someone else added one, but I don't think it's needed yet. nyuszika7h (talk) 09:35, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
For the record, you can "force" a table of contents with either __TOC__ or something like TOC left. But, as you said, it's generally not a good idea if there are less than four sections in an article. --IJBall (contribstalk) 13:59, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

AWB?

Hey, Nyuszika7H, you have WP:AWB rights, correct?... If so, I might have a job for you at Kett Turton. --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:08, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

@IJBall: Yeah, what do you need help with? nyuszika7h (talk) 16:19, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
There's a bunch of extraneous code in Kett Turton's Filmography table that doesn't need to be there. It would be a pain to remove manually – but this is just the kind of thing that AWB is for!! So I was hoping you could take care of it. TIA.. --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:21, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
@IJBall:  Done I just used the regex search and replace in the edit toolbar (under "Advanced", the icon on the right side), and for the episodes I was too lazy to write a regex and there weren't that many so I did that part with manual cut-and-paste. nyuszika7h (talk) 16:38, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
I'm a Mac guy, so I don't have access to AWB, though I've toyed with the idea of getting a cheap PC laptop just to play with it!... --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:13, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
@IJBall: I mean on the normal Wikipedia edit toolbar, I didn't use AWB. nyuszika7h (talk) 19:51, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
Huh... I'll have to take a closer look at that!! --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:51, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
@IJBall: Actually, you may have to enable it manually: tick "Enable wizards for links, formatting, tables, citations, and the search and replace function" at Preferences § Editing. – nyuszika7h (talk) 19:53, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

OK, I did have the Edit toolbar enabled the whole time. But I would never have noticed the button for "Search & Replace" unless you had told me exactly where to find it! They really need to advertise that feature better! because before today, I used to copy text into MS Word to do 'Search & Replace' and then paste it back into Wikipedia edit windows – I really wish I'd know about this feature earlier!! (Grrrrr!) --IJBall (contribstalk) 13:14, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

WP:RS

I'm somewhat curious since when did we start accepting Facebook as a reliable source for BLP info? See 45 Hell in a Bucket (talk) 12:13, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

@Hell in a Bucket: A verified social media account is an acceptable source for information about the subject themselves. Please read WP:SOCIALMEDIA. – nyuszika7h (talk) 12:20, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
THanks for pointing that out. Hell in a Bucket (talk) 12:57, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Hey, Nyuszika7H – how are you seeing the premiere of The Lodge "early"? Is the show having an online "preview" release? – If so, that info should probably be added to the article... --IJBall (contribstalk) 13:52, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

@IJBall: It was released on Disney Channel UK's website and YouTube channel on September 8, 2016, and I asked someone from the UK to get it for me. There is already a footnote in the air date column for the episode, though it might be worth a mention in a "Broadcast" section as well. nyuszika7h (talk) 13:55, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Done --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:05, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
One request: now that you've viewed the premiere episode, can you look over the article's 'Plot' section please? It looks overwritten to me, and I'd like to know how much of what's in that 'Plot' section is verified by the premiere episode... Thanks! --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:08, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
It seems like pretty much everything was mentioned in the episode, except perhaps Skye's age (but that's mentioned in other sources [46] [47]). It does have grammar issues though, I'll fix those a bit later. nyuszika7h (talk) 14:48, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Actually, I guess it's a bit too much, though I'm not entirely sure which details were mentioned as not everything was clear due to the lack of subtitles. Also, I can't really tell what should go in the "main" plot summary and what should go in the episode summary. nyuszika7h (talk) 16:32, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Once it premieres here in the U.S., I'll take a look at it. I also run everything I watch through Closed Captioning, so I shouldn't miss anything even with the British accents... --IJBall (contribstalk) 14:13, 17 September 2016 (UTC)

Liv and Maddie Viewership

Any chance you could find a more reliable source, even as an archive, for the viewership of these three episodes? As far as I know, that's not really a reliable source (Son of the Bronx):

Any chance you could find information/sources, even as archives, for these episodes?

By coincidence, it's the same as episode 27, haha, give or take whatever the third number is before rounding. Amaury (talk | contribs) 06:05, 24 September 2016 (UTC)

I'll try. Technically, it's on a blog, but you could argue that it's reliable because there's no reasonable doubt that it's written by Douglas Pucci who also used to publish ratings on TV Media Insights before that site became defunct. nyuszika7h (talk) 08:49, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
