No black goo

It says now that Jake Gyllenhaal at the end is "encased in a black substance" at the end - it looked to me more like some kind of crystalline lattice, as if he had been cocooned like people in the "Alien" films. I'll leave it to somebody else to fix that.Paulturtle (talk) 21:47, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

Having just sat through this B-movie a second time (the joy of a cineworld unlimited card) I still didn't see anything remotely resembling "black goo" in the capsule at the end. Just a lattice, reminiscent of a cocoon from the "Alien" films, and presumably made from the alien creature metamorphosing/absorbing Jake Gyllenhaal.Paulturtle (talk) 00:10, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

Agree with the possible lattice theory. Definitely not a black goo. Someone needs to stop with this fetish for goo. I think until proven otherwise, "black substance" would be the best way to go. And the Soyuz capsule is definitely unmanned. It's just Sho being devoured at the end. Maybe watch it a third time. The substance is not black, the "black" you see is a dark grey. And that is only the color of half of the depicted substance that you see in the shot(s)-- it's an off white. The substance is definitely not crystalline as it moves with David as he struggles. Some of the strands even vibrate with his movements. Quite right, Calvin is clearly eating somebody else behind Sho. It's clearly a manned Soyuz craft and I added a link to it (I was surprised that they were still in use - they are the same vintage as the American Apollos from when I was a kid). That bit is all a bit confused - I guess Sho might have tried to break into the Soyuz with his spanner thinking he was about to be left behind (he was out of radio contact as he tore off his earpiece when he got into the sleeping pod). It's just occurred to me that Jake Gyllenhaal tries to signal with a torch to the Soyuz as it approaches; he would hardly do that it was unmanned, would he?Paulturtle (talk) 14:56, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

"Venom" fan theory

I'm getting tired of removing false information from this article. The interview notes that Reese and Wenick were joking. They only thing they said to "support" the theory was saying it wouldn't be a bad prequel.

In fact, when asked if they're of the belief that Life would make a great prequel to a Venom film, Reese agrees, saying, "It would, wouldn't it?"

This is not the same as saying they "had interest" in doing it nor does it support the fan theory. Please stop adding this information especially with the erroneous wording that they "had interest in retroactively making Life a prequel to Venom" because they do not say that at all.
