Request on 04:42:45, 18 September 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Ada Wan

Hi Wiki, I do not understand why this article is being rejected because it is not significant enough. As I see Wikipedia is a platform to share knowledge and information and there always will be some topics or articles that are not interesting or significant for others. Please assist me. Thank you.

05:52:13, 18 September 2019 review of submission by Ka1591915

I would like to request assistance with this page because the topic covers a prominent cultural practitioner of the Hawaiian community who deserves to have his story told. Could I please receive some additional information as to why this was rejected? Ka1591915 (talk) 05:52, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ka1591915: - it was rejected because the sources weren't suitable. To prove notability you need sources that are: in-depth, reliable, independent (which also rules out interviews) and secondary (newspapers, books etc). The Genealogy documents, the census and kaananiau's site are all primary, and also aren't in-depth (on Nunes himself) or fail independent (in the case of the site). The interview is also not independent because most of the content would come from a non-independent source. The obituary causes warnings to crop up all over my laptop so I've not seen that, but even as a good source, it wouldn't be enough on its own. Have a look at WP:GNG for a good summary of what you need. Nosebagbear (talk) 16:06, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The following article is an introduction to readers to know about Al Salam Bank in Bahrain. and all the information in the article are informative and does not advertise anything related to Al Salam Bank. Could you kindly advice me on how can I improve the article pleas. Thank you! MaroonFrogbh (talk) 06:12, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is Anwaar from www.maroonfrog.com. We are a Marketing Agency based in Bahrain. @Shaikh7977741665: - Wikipedia isn't a "how-to" guide (WikiHow might work), but also the tone isn't correct - we don't use "We" or "our". There's also a concern that this would be a US-centric article: documents would range heavily region to region. Finally the article doesn't have any references. I don't understand the "declination reason" for my article submission denial, can someone actually give me some help in the help desk? Help that I can actually understand so that I can correct it? Can anyone help me? Briannaburns123 (talk) 00:35, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Briannaburns123: - of course. Inline citations are the little blue numbers that appear at the end of sentences in many articles (e.g. Fairness Project). In most articles, they are only needed for potentially controversial or disputable statements or quotes. However, for biographies of living persons, stricter rules apply. Any potentially contentious material, at all, needs to have an inline citation.
Conveniently, you've already written your sources in a suitable format. I've cut the first one from the bottom and used it as an inline ref.
It's worth knowing you can name references. For example, I've named the example inline reference so it reads <ref name="De La Soul"> at the start of the citation. If you want to use that reference again, elsewhere in the article, you just need to write <ref name="De La Soul"/> instead of writing out the whole citation again. 01:47:11, 19 September 2019 review of submission by MikeyMikeyMike

MikeyMikeyMike (talk) 01:47, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I was provided this reason why the article I submitted wasn't approved:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability

Is it purely a judgement call if a topic is notable?

What tips can you provide in order for the article to be published?

If the topic isn't notable, which article should I incorporate my article into?

@MikeyMikeyMike: - notability is a general policy that applies to Wikipedia. There are specific guidelines for various topics. Companies and organisations use corporate notability.
If a draft/article is on the edge of notability it can be a judgement call, but a clearcut rejection that this received (and supported by me) is fully in line with the rules.
Firstly, you've used external links, whereas references should be one of the various methods you can see at referencing for beginners
I did however look at all of them. And all the sources/links failed on 1 of the 4 requirements for any source designed to show notability: reliable (generally reliable publication with editorial control); independent (no reason to be biased, such as an involved writer, or interviews); significant coverage about Engin itself (roughly 10+ lines that aren't quotes); secondary (newspapers, books etc). The corporate notability link above has a good explanation of each.
I'm not sure there is enough sourcing available to be found to demonstrate corporate notability Nosebagbear (talk) 08:57, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote an article on Wikipedia and it got rejected. The reason is because the article is not significant enough for inclusion on wikipedia. However, Wikipedia is a platform for many topics and articles, there will always be articles that will not be significant or important, if my article get rejected because it is not significant to the person who reject it, then I think its sort of unreasonable to do. 05:50:21, 19 September 2019 review of submission by LoLo0732

I request to edit draft:Johann_Brieger since he is a notable Austrian diplomat. The creator of the original topic did not offer major citations of media coverage besides primary sources and a shortened CV. Nevertheless, there is more than enough international media coverage that justifies an English wikipedia article.

Therefore, I want to reopen the article and add further sources, for example - by the government of Mauritius about Dr. Briegers recent visit: http://m.govmu.org/English/News/pages/NewsDetails.aspx?ItemId=5893 - by an independent Mauritius newspaper about Dr. Briegers recent visit: http://www.mauriceactu.mu/2019/07/30/maurice-et-lautriche-renforcent-leurs-relations-bilaterales/ - an article by The Diplomatic Society about one of his hosted events: http://www.thediplomaticsociety.co.za/archive/archive/2568-austrian-leadership-programs-alps - an article by the South African Development Community: https://www.sadc.int/news-events/news/sadc-and-austria-agree-areas-collaboration/ - an article by greentech.at: https://www.greentech.at/en/largest-solar-thermal-systems-south-of-the-sahara/

Thank you & best regards

17:48:43, 19 September 2019 review of draft by Oilisgood

We have a page for the Barjeel Art Foundation in the UAE and it has been denied publishing. I am trying to figure out what is wrong with the submission. The guidelines say to make sure it uses sources from multiple sources outside of the foundation. It appears we have and I do not know what is wrong on this front. Some references to name a few in the page are: - The National - The Guardian - New York Times - Whitechapel Gallery - Myart Guides - MORI Art Museum - Sharjha Museums - Casa Arabe - NYU Abu Dhabi

I am also trying to figure out what the difference that delineates something being an advertisement and it being a wikipedia page. The page should contain information about the foundation and what they do. The page contains facts and no opinions. So, I am unsure what the issue is.

Is it structure? Should we break things up into more list and categories? I am really at a dead end on where to go from here. :(

Thanks for your time and consideration on this issue.

Oilisgood (talk) 17:48, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Oilisgood. Please clarify what you mean by "we". Do you have a connection to the foundation that you have not disclosed? --Worldbruce (talk) 19:25, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Worldbruce. My connection to the foundation is that I took a class from Sultan Al-Qassim a few years ago at NYU and I do see him at events in the art world from time to time. But, I do not work with nor collaborate with him. I meant the we in the sense of people like me who are passionate about Modern Arab Art. (I'm a Cloud DevOps Manager at my day job) I am unsure how this content is going to get populated and out there if not by people who carry interest in the subject matter at hand. I would not want all of my Modern Arab Art information to come from someone who has zero connection to the Arab Art world. I can understand your concern about me being paid to do this. But, I promise you it strictly comes from a passion in the field. And the Barjeel is a very important piece of the puzzle that is the Arab Art World in general. It is a central hub for many people who navigate this area of the art world. I'd like to see it have a page so that it can be referenced when linking up different artists and their work. No compensation, no kickbacks. Just passion and interest. I don't know how else to say it.

Hi, I made changes to address all of the reviewer comments and thought I resubmitted for a re-review. This is my first article so I'm not familiar with the system. It's not clear to me what state the article is in. Is it in the queue to re-review or do I need to do something else to get that to happen? Thanks. - Craig Wikicraigbez (talk) 23:31, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Wikicraigbez: No, it's not in any queue right now. I could tell you how to resubmit it, but first I want to ask @Dan arndt: on what he thinks and if his plan was really to reject the draft, because this looks rather like a decline reason. @Dan arndt if your intention was indeed to decline, it looks like an odd bug in the script for me. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 05:08, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Victor Schmidt mobil, you are correct in your assumption- it wasn’t my intention to reject the draft but simply to decline it. Unfortunately there is/was a bug in the assessment script. Happy for the draft to be resubmitted if the issues about notability have been addressed. Dan arndt (talk) 05:15, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed the template so that it looks and works like it was intended. @Wikicraigbez If you think the draft is ready for re-review, there is a blue "Resubmit" button. Yust click it. The rest you should already know. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 05:54, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bewithstartup (talk) 03:38, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Bewithstartup: - you don't actually state what your question is. For the moment I've assumed it's a query about why the draft was rejected.
The draft was rejected correctly - the sources given are either not independent/reliable or, in the case of a discography, don't cover the subject in enough detail.
Musicians have specific criteria they need to satisfy to show their notability (any criterion is sufficient). They can be seen at musician notability. I don't believe Mr AJ currently meets these, though he may in the future. As such, tweaking the content wouldn't fix that issue. Nosebagbear (talk) 12:18, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I was just wondering why the page was rejected because I submitted other sources besides Instagram. If I get rid of Instagram and the information cited from Instagram that I included, would that make it more reliable?Gettechy (talk) 22:38, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gettechy. It was rejected because the subject is not notable (not suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia). No amount of editing can fix that problem. Wikipedia is not for advertising, promotion, or public relations. --Worldbruce (talk) 22:45, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thank you for taking your time in addressing my concern. How do I submit an article after making the recommended changes? On my article there's a STOP sign. I'm not finding a submit button like once before. Thank you. Sophisticatedcheese (talk) 01:54, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 06:38:47, 23 September 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Floyd1965

Hello Wikipedians,

I had created a draft which I wanted to publish but was declined because according to the reviewer the submission read more like an advertisement. Can anyone go through the link and suggest me what all is required to make the page more credible and neutral?

SubhraKant Sahoo is an Indian short films actor but people when search on wiki SubhraKant Sahoo then he not found him . So Add SubhraKant Sahoo's article to Wikipedia

Wikiodia09 (talk) 11:32, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As repeatedly pointed out to you, he is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia, you have provided zero reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 11:35, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for taking your time reading my request. I'm looking to submit my article after finally making the recommended changes. The article was rejected in July, but I believe that it is an article worthy to be submitted to Wikipedia. Quality sources were eventually found and again, I made the recommended changes. Thank you.

Hi, my first couple of submissions for an article (TITAN Sensor) were reviewed relatively quickly (within 24hrs), but it has been 6 weeks since my last submission and I have not heard back. I have made some changes since then to try to improve the article. I would like to move forward with the goal of ultimately getting the article approved. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are a lot of college players on wikipedia why not him as well? 75.102.139.38 (talk) 17:58, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Because he fails WP:NHOOPS: to be deemed notable, a basketball player must have appeared in one game as either a player or head coach in the original American Basketball Association, Liga ACB, EuroLeague, National Basketball Association, National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (United States), Lega Basket Serie A, Women's National Basketball Association, Greek Basket League and Israeli Basketball Premier League, have been selected in the first two rounds of the NBA draft, or have won an award, or led the league in a major statistical category of the Continental Basketball Association or NBA G League. Hello Wikipedia and Team, I have submitted all the notable proofs and news / media resources that I am having and assure about the personality - Goldy Hunjan or Goldy Hunjan Makeup Studio to be authentic. As I have got services from him and he is really an awesome personality known for his artistry skills. Done various events at government colleges and institutions. I just wanted to know with your permission, what more / exact notable proofs (as wiki declines with a message about more notability) are required to get my very first article on wikipedia as a contributor. I seriously wanted to contribute for the potential worthy person Goldy Hunjan as he is truly the best.

Please help me... Smehra2801 (talk) 18:27, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to publish an entry and I've been asked to cite more published sources. Many of these sources are not available online. How do I verify sources that are not online? I can send PDFs. Is that permissible? If so how do I do this?

Also I've been asked to provided more newspaper articles. Should I provide multiple citations for the same fact?

Hello, could this be reviewed? I believe it should be included on Wikipedia Gameofdrones967 (talk) 03:01, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gameofdrones967. Rejection is meant to be final, to convey that the topic is not notable (not suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia). No amount of editing can fix that problem. There is no option to re-submit the draft because volunteers do not intend to review it again. You may wish to explore alternative outlets, with different inclusion criteria, for your writing. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:07, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
