Please explain

Please can you explain this tagging. It makes no sense to me. - Sitush (talk) 07:27, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ah Okay! The tag introduced by me to the article was about clean-up, reorganize, removing unsourced claim/an opinion someone desperately wants to be true. The line, Maithils brahmins are one of the two chief divisions of brahmins is baseless as reference cited doesn't support this claim. No results found in reference cited for the 'chief divisions of brahmins'
The lead section highlights the title, Maithil brahmins, but as it goes to description into history section, it cites the contribution/work of Maithils, not Maithil brahmins who inhabited the former kingdom of Mithila(Not all Maithils are Maithil brahmins). Again, The Maharajah of Darbhanga Raj, a neighbouring state doesn't match any texts of the book Ethnology cited as reference.
Later, The unknown maharajah of Darbhanga raj presided over their caste association, Whom and what caste association? Actually he presided over the Maithil Mahasabha and it was an orthodox group not a caste Association(accordingly reference provided)..
I invite you to reorganize the texts of article accordingly references available or put the maintenance tag back. AnupMehra 10:52, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Udumalai Narayana Kavi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Can you explain please?

Could you explain the reason behind your reorganize tag on this page? I'd be happy to improve it, but I don't know what specifically you were referring to. Geo47 (talk) 08:52, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ah sure! The article seems to be a biography of a living person(WP:BLP). It misses lead section(WP:LEAD). The present content of the article could be placed under section 'Career' attributed to the person individual, biography is being written for. And, it is supposed to mention achievements in the ascending order unlikely present one, as 'He is a graduate of Waimea High School and Drake University'(No source for it. Most probably, he finished high schooling at Waimea High School and graduation from Drake university. If correct, then need to be re-written or removed, as biography of a living person needs additional citations for verification.), following 'He was first appointed to the Senate'. Hope, it resolves. If doesn't, please write a comment. Thanks! AnupMehra 09:32, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I understand now. Thanks for the reformatting. I just made some grammar fixes but they're minor. Also, I've never seen candidate names italicized before (as in the discussion of the candidates he's defeated). Is that the proper formatting? Geo47 (talk) 00:30, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Um, I'm not sure. Actually I've no idea. As those names (probably) are still waiting to fall under wiki notability guideline, for articles to be created, placing them inside boxes, highlights red, something not so cool. Whether they should be italicize or mark bold or left natural, as they are defeated candidates doesn't sound legit. It is not about them, but an another person whom they contested with. I'm leaving it up to you, whatever goes more real with wiki projects. I've seen some articles where candidates name were italicized, not sure whether they were appropriate or looking for an edit. And an another thing, have you some source regarding, Kouchi's marriage status? I noticed you changed 'was' to 'is'. Are you sure he's still into marriage not divorced? The source says, 'Ron and his wife, the former Joy Tanimoto, have two sons'. Cheers! AnupMehra 07:50, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. Thanks for the explanation. And yes, the source is his campaign website. In English, the word "former" before a wife's name simply means that she was formerly known as Joy Tanimoto before she replaced her maiden name with her husband's name (Kouchi). Geo47 (talk) 15:49, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Damn! I apologize for my misconception of the word, 'former'. You might would like to pay a visit to this link link2, which says, 'Senator Kouchi graduated from Waimea High School in 1975 and attended Drake University in Des Monies, Iowa.' contradicting to 'Kouchi received his high school diploma from Waimea High School and his Bachelor's degree from Drake University (in Des Moines,Iowa).' High School diploma is not graduation, but bachelor's degree is. Right? AnupMehra 16:54, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it's the other way around, but that's actually a good point that I didn't catch. It says he received his high school diploma which means that he graduated from high school. However, in both sources, it says that he only attended Drake University which, to me, implies that he didn't graduate (or else they would have said "graduated from Drake" or "received his Bachelor's from Drake". We can't know for sure, so I'll go make the change to your original wording now. Nice catch! Geo47 (talk) 08:32, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Ashoka's policy of Dhama (August 29)

Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Please view your submission to see the comments left by the reviewer. You are welcome to edit the submission to address the issues raised, and resubmit if you feel they have been resolved.

Yeah it sure is. I've been thinking about title, thought Ashoka and his Dhamma would be more appropriate and real than present one(with rectified typo 'Dhama'). AnupMehra 06:51, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Nadile Sultan may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "()"s and 2 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. Chadhar

Hi, I appreciate that you are trying to save Chadhar from deletion but it seems clear to me that you do not yet fully understand our reliable sources policies. Things like discussion forum posts, books published by Gyan, British Raj sources from the 1880s and completely irrelevant lists of surnames simply will not do the job. Of course, you are welcome to search further for sources but the chances of you finding them online are pretty slim - I'm good at sourcing and have done those checks. I even mentioned the Gyan book at the AfD, although not by name. B. S. Nijjar & someone else both quote an 1880s Raj source but other than that, there really is nothing out there. - Sitush (talk) 16:17, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! You just reverted my edit again. Citing one of the sources is not reliable. Please delete the respective unreliable source, why the other one? Explain? It might be a human error. AnupMehra 16:21, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) AnSI is not usually thought to be reliable because it just takes huge chunks from old Raj books - it was a political exercise and the level of scholarship was generally appalling. However, I cannot see the page that you have just cited and would appreciate some more info about that one. - Sitush (talk) 16:23, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
here it is, pg.282. AnupMehra 16:26, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot see that (User:Sitush/Common#GBooks may explain why). That AnSI source is mostly just a list of names, linked to when a name occurred in a census, even if it was wrongly spelled or wehatever. Raj censuses were not reliable and in any event it is not enough to source that x, y or z appears in a source - the source has to discuss them, give them some sort of meaningful coverage etc. - Sitush (talk) 16:31, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and just in case you are doing this - snippet views are not acceptable. A lot of people try to us them and they very frequently take things out of context. Can you possibly quote the relevant paragraphs from the book? It is unlikely to be very long. - Sitush (talk) 16:34, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It might be just a list but if reliable, should be kept. Yeah the url of the respective page has kind of fragment view. And, perhaps we can not(or should not) ignore the book tagging 'Gbook'. It's a real book. If snippet view makes a change, then books should be cited without the url? There would be no question anymore thereafter, I guess. 1,[1]. Please have a look at them, meanwhile I dig more. Update the ref serction of the article, if they are reliable source. Thanks! AnupMehra 16:43, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There are some more reliable sources, but the online preview is not available. Like, 1, 2. I do not think it should a reason for not citing them. If it could be one, then tons of other articles should be get deleted along with this one. AnupMehra 17:01, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WP:OSE. And I suggest that you read the opening nomination at the AfD before sending us off to see search results for "chadhar surname" on Google. - Sitush (talk) 18:14, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! Thank you very much! You're talking about an AfD, what we already are doing here. It would be perhaps much better If we discuss one thing at one place. AnupMehra 13:32, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

deletion

You placed a deletion tag on this article. I am not clear what you intend. Do you want to move it to "Ashoka's policy of Dharma", which is how we normally spell the word in WP. If so, I can do it for you--just let me know on my user talk page. If that is your intent, you will also need to change the spelling of the word wherever it appears in the article--I can also do that for you efficiently.

There are a few other problems with this article:

  1. the links you have put in do not necessarily go where you intend . For example, liberality redirects to Liberalism. which is a different political concept. Our article on harmony is exclusively about music-- please check all your current links.
  2. Additional links are needed for other words at the first occurrences. TAll names of people and places need to be linked
  3. The article is written as an essay, not an encyclopedia article. The tone needs to be mroe formal: we usuall omit connecting phrases "To understand the various aspects of the policy of Dhamma and the reasons for its formulation it would necessarily need to sketch the historical background against which it became possible for Ashoka to enunciate it." does not really add anything: the heading you use "Historical background" says it by itself.
  4. We do not use FULL CAPITALS in articles for headings.
  5. The contents of the article iss overwhelming positive, as if it were meant to promote his vision of society. Surely there is some negative or less partisan commentary also.
  6. We already have an article on Edicts of Ashoka. It may need to be expanded.
  7. The section, text of the edicts is unclear--which particualar inscription is it, or is it a synthesis of multiple inscriptions? DGG ( talk ) 14:57, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I left you a msg on your talk page related to the problem specific. And about the other concerns listed, are as follow:

  1. Yesterday I made an attempt to fix 95 dab errors pointed by 'DPL bot' using dab solver. It seems, there's still some error(s) exist and need to be fixed manually. Thanks for bringing it up, I'll try rectifying.
  2. Regarding this one, I'm wondering if there's some bot fixing up this kind of thing. It is kind of time consuming, I'll do it though once I get time enough.
  3. And yeah some lines need to be removed, or re-written as per Wikipedia style of writing.
  4. Um, I'm sorry but I didn't get it exactly, what do you mean by, 'FULL CAPITALS IN HEADING'? Let me guess, For eg. There's a heading 'Dhamma causes', another 'Contents of Dhamma'. Do you want me to re-write 'Contents of Dhamma' as 'Contents of dhamma'?
  5. The negative aspect never grown enough to be written by authors/historians. There's no reference(s) available regarding this perspective. However, there were few concerns and I tried to sum them up. As the policy faced reluctance from a particular sector of society, called Brahmin class, as the policy talks about abolition of sacrifices. And few more.
  6. The article Edicts of Ashoka deals with inscriptions of Ashoka. While the article, Ashoka's policy of Dhama deals with a particular policy termed 'Dhamma' by Ashoka, one of the greatest ruler of Indian sub-continent. It can be summerised as an earliest attempt of Emperor Ashoka to unite people belonging to different regions and religions under one rule through this policy. The policy had a significant impact and it has been argued if it was the prominent reason which led to the decline ofMauryan empire. Ashoka used medium of Edicts to propagate his, this policy. The article 'Edicts of Ashoka' has its own imperfection. The article relies on minimal references, and the article Edicts of Ashoka, interprets that Ashoka used medium of Edicts to propagate the idea of Buddhism. Yesterday I left a msg on the talk page of article seeking need to re-write the article. I'll do it my own, once I get time enough to do it. The article Edicts of Ashoka is a part of the articleAshoka's policy of Dhamma, and it is notable enough to have it, its own article. result for 'Edicts of Ashoka', Edicts of Ashoka, Google books search result,Search result for 'Ashoka's policy of Dhamma,Ashoka's policy of Dhamma, Google books search result. It would be kind of tedious to put both article into one.
  7. The section, 'Text of edicts' has inline citation(s), One seeking more info. regarding texts could dig the reference(s) cited. I didn't wanted to enlarge the size of the article any bigger. AnupMehra 18:08, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Chander (surname), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shining (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Chander (surname)

Please can you rewrite Chander (surname), which you recently created. Some of the sources are poor and in any case you have completely misrepresented them in statements such as the name referring to a "production house". - Sitush (talk) 18:19, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I've just noticed that you have even spelled the name wrongly throughout and that is despite me only recently pointing out your error regarding that in relation to the Chadhar AfD. We already have Chandler (surname) and that is where any content that survives your clean up should go. - Sitush (talk) 18:23, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Did you read both articles? i.e. Chandler (surname) & Chander (surname). Both are two different article on a single topic, One is a disambiguation page, while other deals with history and origin of the subject of the article. And Yeah, The newly created article waiting for review needs improvement and some better sources added. Like, production house should be replace by manufacturing unit or something alike. Thanks for your suggestion, I'll try improving/rectifying. The problem is I'm kind of busy these days, i.e. over study load. By the way, I'll do it once I get time enough to do it. Just wondering the time you wasted leaving me a 40-50 words msg on my talk page, You could try improving the article and leave your comments in edit summery. Nothing, but just a thought! AnupMehra 13:47, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do you know what? I was going to help you out because you clearly have some competence issues and I thought that I could assist you through the maze that is Wikipedia. But not after your latest replies, sorry. I know a lost cause when I see one. - Sitush (talk) 20:07, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, you were not. You were kind of stalking me. You're actually comparing a disambiguation page and an article page. You might, would like to read this. And about Chander and Chandler concept, read this. Or this one. Hope it clarifies your concept. AnupMehra 13:31, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ashoka's policy of Dhamma

I have restored this article; please do not play around with CSD tags if you don't know how to use them. GiantSnowman 14:11, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The present article was created under a typo errored title, 'Ashoka's policy of dhama' (It should be dhamma). I asked it peoples at #en.wikipedia Irc channel regarding renaming the title of the article. They suggested me to read WP:MOVE and there's nothing like renaming on Wiki but Moving. So, I moved the article to the title it should have correcting that typo, 'Ashoka's policy of dhamma'. Later Wiki had one article under two different names, one of which was a typo. I was meant to delete that typo title, User Marklug onto #en.wikipedia Irc suggested me to use that particular template to delete the page. I did. Didn't thought both pages would be deleted. SO, it is the story! AnupMehra 14:20, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ralph Nevins

Dear Anupmehra, Thank you for reviewing the page. You state that in the Ralph Nevins page there are not reliable source as coverage in news or magazine. This is what I exactly did before submitting. I added two reference to the "ASHRAE Journal" and to a book. There are more reliable sources than just news. Moreover, the subject of the article died many years ago, where it is difficult to find digital records of news and magazines. The book is an independent and reliable source. Best, Stefano — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stefano Schiavon (talkcontribs) 14:57, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Perhaps you are talking about this one. Actually I did not say they are not reliable sources, but the subject of the article requires additional independent reliable sources to verify the content of the submission. Presently, the submission heavily depends upon two affiliated sources. If he is notable, he must have been published in various news papers, magazines, journals, books, etc. Try searching news archives, Google news archive, Wsj archive, Nyt archive, Times archive, Guardian archive, etc. There might be many more. Some claim(s) are unsourced, like He spent a year in the military and joined the faculty at Kansas State University as an instructor, I suggest you to either remove or cite them. His published works could be cited using Google books. Just search and update references section, and re-submit. Hope, It solves. If doesn't, please leave me a comment below. AnupMehra 15:43, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for taking your time to evaluate the creation of the article on the International Federation of Pedestrians. My submission referenced above was rejected by you with the following comment: "It requires additional reliable sources to verify the content of the submission. The section Mission should be re-written in compliance with Wikipedia neutral point of view.". The Mission of the organization by definition is not a NPV - this section just states in a neutral and factual way, what is the Mission of the organization. How should I proceed with this - many articles on organizations (NGOs for example) in wikipedia do state what is the Mission of each of those organizations. Considering the lack of reliable sources: the article already cites four reputable International Organizations as sources: Union of International Associations, The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC), the Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety and Walk21, also cites "Google Scholar" and "Google Books". When it will be considered enough? Thank you. Mario J Alves (talk) 09:02, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, The submission heavily relies on the primary/affiliated sources(4 out of 7 sources are, official website). Reference no.3 cited in the history section is the google books search result, You need to cite the particular book and the page no.(s) which support the content of the submission. Reference no.4 cited, again in the history section is a a book, but it doesn't verifies the content of the submission, as there's no page no. mentioned, It doesn't either have a preview to perform verification. Similarly the Mission section deals with aim of IFP, but the only reference(again primary source) cited, states visions/principles of International Charter of Walking, it doesn't say a thing about IFP, like IFP promotes or supports the visions of ICW as claim made in the article. Wikipedia requires third party, secondary reliable sources to verify content of the submission. The article also requires significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject to verify notability of the subject. On Wikipedia, notability is a guideline to decide whether a topic can have its own article or not. Just add some additional third party, secondary reliable sources, enough to verify the content of the submission and establish notability, and re-submit. I tried to answer all queries, if there's still some remain, feel free to make a comment below to this. AnupMehra 12:46, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

CN Times

Hi there! I'm curious to know why this article on CN Times Books was rejected for reading more like an advertisement than an encyclopedia page. It merely states facts about the company. Perhaps you could give me an example so that I can use this to help me rewrite the article best.

Thank you for looking through it, and I look forward to your feedback! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CN Times Books (talkcontribs) 12:18, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! The article is not written in compliance with Wikipedia neutral point of view. Re-write the article from neutral point of view and re-submit. You might be interested in reading How to write a better article. There's some references listed under references section. But you need to cite them. References on Articles for creation/Kiuwan

Hi Anupmehra,

Thanks for your review.

Could you please elaborate the problems you see in the article references? I have just made some adjustments to them and plannig to resubmit shortly.

Your feedback will be helpful.

Thanks again, J. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Javier.salado (talkcontribs) 12:44, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Javier.salado: Hello, Perhaps it is this article, you're talking about. Here, History and How it works section is unsourced. Please provide reference(s) and cite them in the body of the article to verify the content of submission. And please refrain make writings like, "available for download from GitHub.", as what last reviewer commented, it could be argued that it looks more like an advertisement than an encyclopedia entry. You should to read Wikipedia neutral point of view. Neutral point of view stress representing fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without bias, all of the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic. Fix all these issues, before you make re-submit. Hope it helps, if doesn't, leave me a new query just below to this line. AnupMehra 13:46, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Anup, thank you for your comments. I have rephrased some of the content to have a more neutral point of view. Regarding the references of the sections you mention, there are not many references besides the published articles about this particular application and the documentation and website of the application itself. I have added these references to those sections. they are definitely verifiable, another thing is what you, or other reviewers, may think of their reliability. In my humble opinion a reference to the source is very reliable. I'll wait for your comments and re-submit for revision shortly — Preceding unsigned comment added by Javier.salado (talkcontribs) 13:53, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Javier.salado: It is not what I or other reviewers think, but Wikipedia guidelines and policies. See, What Wikipedia think of reliable sources, independent sources and reliable source examples. If you've improved the article, re-submit it to articles for creation. Someone would review it very soon. Please note that, the Articles for creation process is very highly backlogged, be patient. Questions about rejection of the draft based on providing unreliable sources

Dear Anup Mehra

Hope your day was fine. I primarily research and source data on anthropology, Buddhist and Taoist death rites. As part of my work I created an article about Ang Jolie Mei, a female funeral director in conservative Singapore. I am sending this message to bring your attention to that article draft , which you rejected by citing lack of unreliable sources. I request your attention to the article one more time. I had provided sources of print articles published about Ang Jolie Mei. The articles were only on print and not all have online access. All the publications that ran the story were owned by Singapore Press Holdings and MediaCorp, which are the national media groups in Singapore. If you insist, I can present scanned copies of the print articles, which I had mentioned as sources. I request you to assess the article one more time.

Regards Petson Peter AKA Writer Wrench

Have a nice day :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Writerwrench (talkcontribs) 02:09, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Writerwrench: Yeah kind of, guess you had as well. I just revisited the submission page to figure out if I've been done a mistake. Nope. The submission relies on some news paper articles(without urls) and two YouTube videos. Personal Life and Advocacy section is unsourced. Style guides aren't crystal clear on how to cite a CV printout and same CV data online in a format acceptable for WP text. Chicago Manual of Style and other standard sources didn't help but APA style was recommended by the "Ask A Librarian" site. So will add that reference plus others, and more Wikilinks. Extra research routes you gave are good to know. JaneFaber (talk) 07:08, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anup Mehra, Thanks for your inputs on timeframe. could you please help me understand specific examples of issues with references so I could fix it.

Please find below the url for my article- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Goagar/sandbox

Also I have taken care of two issues below. Could you please let me know if it looks OK now or needs further improvement?

Comment: Wikipedia is not considered a reliable source. Better directly use the sources listed to support the particular content.

"In 2009, Neev raised $500,000 from Basil Partners, a venture capital fund focused on opportunities in SMEs catering to IT/ITeS and technology sectors. The fund primarily invests in Indian/Asian companies that seek to expand into global markets or US/European companies that have an India/Asia centric offshore-based model." seems to be copy-pasted from here. Please re-write them.

@Goagar: Thanks for the article link, The first comment relates to Earlier citation style, Wikipedia is not considerable a reliable source, hence one Wikipedia article could not be used as a source to cite in support of claim/statement made in some other Wikipedia article. It is advised to directly use the sources listed in Wikipedia article to use in other Wikipedia article. For more info. see WP:CIRCULAR.
Second comment is related to Wikipedia copy-paste policy. It says, As a general rule, do not copy and paste text from other sources. That's why I asked you to re-write what I found copied-pasted from other sources. If there's something else copied-pasted, re-write them in your own words.
I see some new sources cited in the article. Topic seems to be notable. Re-analyzing the article. I'll leave you a comment there. AnupMehra 20:30, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anup, I have found some additional sources from CNBC and Amazon. Could you please advise if these could considered as reliable published?

This is from CNBC TV, Rajeev Suri: http://thoughtleadership-guru.blogspot.in/2012/08/saurabh-chandra-neev-technologies.html

This was created by Amazon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7QlmnrTK3Q&feature=player_embedded

@Goagar: AWS link is likely to be accepted as primary source. While the other one, not sure if not edited by the blog publisher, It would be much better if you could provide the direct link associated with the authentic publisher. Such as, direct link to the CNBC Official YouTube channel or website. AnupMehra 16:31, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anup,

Certainly...i will try to search for direct link for CNBC one.

Thanks!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Goagar (talkcontribs) 10:12, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Anup,

I could not find the direct link for CNBC one. This video was created and posted on Rajeev Suri's YT channel and there is no other known source. Rajeev was a CNBC Young Turk.

Just wanted to check if it would be appropriate to re-submit the article with higher probability of creation with the Amazon reference ?

Articles for creation/Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights (LICADHO)

I have edited and resubmitted the proposed article for creation referenced in the subject line (LICADHO).

Your points re not establishing notoriety were well taken. In the initial section, I added several mentions (with citations) of the organization's prominence - citations in local media, citations in the international media, op-eds written by LICADHO's director, etc. Hopefully this is sufficient.

In terms of the background info about LICADHO, I kept most of the sourcing as LICADHO's own page. This is because it's fairly mundane stuff - where they work, how many offices they have, etc. This sort of info is mostly easily gleaned from the organization's own page. Hopefully this is sufficient for publication. There may be more out there, but a lot of it is in Khmer and is difficult to cite.

hello. i have questions about your review of the sci fi summer con atlanta article. there were 2 messages in the review, one that the sources werent good enough, and two that i needed to cite sources in the article itself not just in the reference section. is that correct?? the sources i gave point to exactly information that i described, so how are they not reliable references? and, why do i need to cite sources in the body text if i fill out the reference section?? isnt that the point of a reference section?? so, i have trouble right now understanding what or why the reference problems were described, so i need help with that. thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.179.85.129 (talk) 16:59, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Articles must be notable as per Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Wikipedia doesn't publish personal opinions or original research. So, it requires significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject to establish notability and verify the content of the submission. Please read WP:RS to learn about reliable sources. You should to read, Wikipedia reliable source examples as well for further clarification. And why you need to cite the sources in the body of the article, it is because Wikipedia's Verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. That is why it is necessary to cite the respective reference in the body of the article to support the particular claim/statement made in the article to help Wikipedia readers to understand the content of the article. In short, Citations are used to identify the reliable sources on which an article is based. Does it help? AnupMehra 17:46, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Holy Incense: The Jewish Prescription at the time of the Temple

Dear editor, You mentioned that my article on the Holy Incense, User:Davidbena/draft article on Holy Incense , was rejected because it sounded more like an essay than an article fit for an encyclopedia. In this assessment, you may be right. May I kindly ask you, though, to give me a brief example of how I can change the current style into a style that you are looking for. I will re-edit the entire work and after I have met your criteria I will re-submit the article. I only need an example to follow, so that I will know specifically how to improve the article.

Were there any aspects of the article which are good and acceptable, or is the style completely unacceptable and needs rewriting?Davidbena (talk) 17:31, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

re: rejection of article on Wildfire Communications

Hi -- regarding this rejected article ... My friend (and, in the interest of full disclosure, fellow co-founder of the defunct company whose tech product is a progenitor of widely used systems today) had a fairly to-the-point article (I felt) which you rejected on the grounds that it read like an advertisement. The company is no longer in business, and only a 15+ year old version of the product is available for people to use. The issue might be that I personally added a link to one (the only? I don't know) company offering subscription service to the product any more. Is this the issue, or would it suffice to add more information on the product's functionality and how it is compared to modern systems such as Siri and Google Voice? Thanks in advance. DulcetTone (talk) 01:45, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@DulcetTone: The only issue is, the submission is not written in compliance with Wikipedia neutral point of view. For instance, ...product is still available from Virtuosity.com. Alternatively you can also see, How to write a better article. AnupMehra 17:32, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain why you find that sentence is not neutral? The product is still available from that supplier, and I am not aware of others. If you find that portion of the article is somehow promotional, I think it would be easy to remove it or make it less specific by omitting the one provider we know of. Thanks in advance for any more information on your finding. edit: oh and I will read the NPOV article, too... perhaps I'm guilty of not being proactive with the information you've already provided.DulcetTone (talk) 19:18, 18 October 2013 (UTC
@DulcetTone: Hello, please read WP:NPOV & WP:NOTADVERTISING. And I'm not that much active on Wikipedia as earlier. So, I might reply late(even more than than present one. Sorry! but I can't help with this.). I'd suggest you to live chat and get your queries solved with more experienced Wikipedia editors and reviewers here. Also, the "Product Packaging and Deployment" section is unsourced. You should either provide references or simply remove them. AnupMehra 16:23, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
