Wanted to make you aware of this deletion discussion and particularly the side discussion on call sign suffixes in the Philippines. It's very hard to get down to the bottom of their situation. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 03:57, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Quick question... Why are there two channel numbers listed on this page? Is the BEAM mux (27) a separate license? Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 05:17, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- It may be possible that NTC assiged this station to have a separate digital TV channel, similar on what was done for TV stations in Metro Manila. They may be using their analog-assigned channel (Channel 26) and utilized it as a digital station. -WayKurat (talk) 06:58, 8 April 2022 (UTC)
- Is that legal to do? I see DWKC is the same thing... Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:54, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
- I'm really not sure but as far as I know, all analog channels will be returned to the government once the shutdown deadline occurs in 2023. -WayKurat (talk) 07:39, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Having a 'year' in lead in some Philippine TV series
Hello and happy Easter @WayKurat, just a question, do we still need to have the year in the beginning of the lead on a Philippine TV series-related article? Because an annoymous IP editor keeps on removing it and stating this on the edit summary that; "the 'year' in the lead should be only for movie articles".
Here's the diffs from what happened earlier:
- Special:Diff/1083163966 - diff removing the year from the Viral Scandal article
- Special:Diff/1083164061 - my revert that brought back the 'year' in the lead and stating on the summary that the person should discuss it first.
- You may also check this message I've left in the TP of the IP user here from several days ago
I know most Philippine TV series articles have the 'year' in the lead and because since the IP keeps on removing it, it could potentially lead to edit warring if I revert that IP's edit 3 times. I'm not sure if the 'year' in the lead of the article needs to be removed already or not Thanks! VictorTorres2002 (talk) 12:04, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Hello
Here is the reference wherein Awra Briguela was born in 2004, meaning I will minus the year 2022 from his age today. [1] So that I will include him in the birth section of the 2004 in the Philippines, and removed from 2003 in the Philippines. I will add it anyway as a reference to the page of the subject. Thanks. Vandalism on the Ang Iglesia ni Cristo page
A certain Wikipedia user is vandalizing the Ang Iglesia ni Cristo article and keeps on insisting the program aired on ABS-CBN in the year 1986 even if the official magazine of the Iglesia ni Cristo has already mentioned that the program only began airing on the said network in 1990. I have also read in the 75th anniversary special commemorative issue of the Pasugo: God's Message magazine that the program aired on Radio Philippines Network in the aftermath of the People Power Revolution.
I will need your help to protect the page from further vandalism. Thank you. Vgyu 04:46, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Vgyu: Yes. I'm also aware of that vandal. That user is using the 2001:4454:0:0:0:0:0:0/32 and 2001:4454:200:0:0:0:0:0/40 IP ranges. They are also involved in vandalizing the Family Rosary Crusade (TV program) article. -WayKurat (talk) 05:14, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Mariano Yenko
Hi WayKurat. A couple years ago back in 2018, you made this edit related to the non-free use of File:PBA Commissioner Mariano Yenko.jpg in the article's infobox. There's still nothing in the article related to Yenko's death; so, the article is still being treated as a BLP. This, in turn, means that the file is still being flagged for review as a possible violation of WP:NFCC#1. Were you ever able to find any reliable sources that can be used to verify Yenko died in the late 1980s as the file's non-free use rationale claims? Without any way of verifying Yenko's death to update the article accordingly, the file's non-free use in the article is always going to be an issue and the file may be deleted per WP:F7. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:58, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: I think we had this discussion before last February. It's very difficult in finding online sources to prove that this person is already dead, as it has limited press coverage back then. The league also have not mentioned on what year did he died, making it more difficult in finding articles related to his death. But during the 25th year anniversary program of the PBA in 2000 that when they are honoring past league commissioners, he was mentioned as "the late Col. Mariano Yenko". -WayKurat (talk) 07:13, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- This file did seem familiar for some reason. Apologize for repeating things. We're still stuck though since without being able to verify that Yenko died, it's hard to justify the non-free use of the file in accordance with item 10 of WP:NFCI. Moreover, it will be hard to establish he meets any of Wikipedia's notability guidelines based on the single source currently cited in the article. Recently, there's been some major changes made to WP:BIO (particularly to WP:NSPORT) so now at least one example of significant coverage needs to be cited just to give the subject the benefit of the doubt that they are notabile. Lots of one sourced stubs have ended deleted at AfD based on this change; so, any RS you can find about Yenko would be helpful (even if they don't discuss his death). -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:27, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- A member of WP:TAMBAYAN was able to find an article about Yenko being posthumously inducted into the PBA HOFin 2011, and I think that's enough to establish that he's deceased. I added a link to that article to the file's non-free use rationale and also added related content to the article. I tweaked the categories a bit, but it would still be better if Yenko's DOB and DOD could be narrowed down at least to the year of each. There might also be more content about him in old newspapers or books since he appears to have also been a colonel who served in the Philippine government per this and this during the 1950s. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:51, 14 September 2022 (UTC)

I think, if I remember rightly, I had a welcome message on my Tagalog talk page after noticing someone disrupted a Tagalog page with English language content added to an article. Ideally, this talk page of mine can be restored with just the edit made by Lam-ang who I think was the one who welcomed me there and keep the protection set as you've implied after page deletion. A welcome message is all that I deserve after cleaning up in 2019. cheers, Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 22:38, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Iggy the Swan: Done. Sorry about that. That crosswiki vandal did a lot of edits on your tl.wiki talk page that I had to resort on deleting the entire whole talk page. -WayKurat (talk) 01:11, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
- That's very true, along with at least one other crosswiki vandal who has also done the same thing multiple times over several months.
