Hello Node, don't delete the entire "Singapore Englis" article which was written by me. You are supposed to discuss any major changes to any article as per wiki rules.

Warning

You must desist from spamming my inbox and user page daily right now or I take up action against you through a moderator. You have the right to discuss whatever you want on any wiki discussion page. I have the right not to respond to any discussions anywhere unless I want to and on my own terms.

Cenwin88lee (talk) 08:50, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

I have nominated Koshijin, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Koshijin. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Kenilworth Terrace (talk) 17:12, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Human rights in Singapore

Hello, could I draw your attention to the fact that we are supposed to use the "minor edit" flag only for an edit which does not alter the substantive meaning. See WP:MINOR. For reasons not clear to me, you have substantially undone a careful rewrite of mine and flagged your change "minor". Alarics (talk) 19:44, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Many thanks for your comment on my page. I clearly misunderstood your intentions and I apologise for losing my temper. Alarics (talk) 08:07, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

FYI - Vegetarianism and religion

This is in regard to this edit of yours - I think you might want to have a look at the article Indian religions. The 2 major groups of World religions as per modern classification are Abrahamic religions and Indian religions, And Buddhism IS an Indian religion. Just because, most of the followers of Buddhism are outside does not make it not an "Indian religion". I hope now you got the point. Thanks for hearing. Arjuncodename024 17:24, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey, can you please come back here (Talk:Vegetarianism_and_religion#Explanation_for_my_edit.) and weigh in with a more extensive opinion, esp in the "Other sects" issue. Also it would be great if you can have a look at this disputed article and give your opinion. I am thinking about going for Mediation after hearing your reply in the talk page. Many Thanks. Spanish IPA

Hello!

I didn't know there was anywhere in Spanish that conserved the ‹h›, how interesting! Is that why the orthography still has all those "silent" ‹h›s?

The place this is all kept together is at WP:IPA for Spanish, so I'd bring it up at the talk page there. Your comments on my talkpage would be good to duplicate there, though it's going to be tough to mount a convincing case to change this. It's just so easy to tell someone to regard all /θ/s as /s/s in Latin America, much like WP:IPA for English transcribes ‹r› even where many speakers drop them. And then there's /ʎ/, which is merged with /ʝ/ for many speakers, distinct for others, and has other sounds (like [ʒ] or [ʃ]) for others.

Good luck, and I look forward to a debate! — ˈzɪzɨvə (talk) 19:36, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

RFC

Good job with the RFC. It's a shame it's come to this, and I was hoping he'd listen to reason as he's done on a few rare occasions in the past, but randomly reverting edits is just ridiculous. Incidentally, a user with very much the same modus operandi [1] has recently appeared on Wikitravel as well... Jpatokal (talk) 11:20, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Hello. I wonder if you could tell me what is the word for "dictionary" in Okinawan? Thank you. -- Wisconsus TALK|things 17:53, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the answer. I asked this, because I was willing to contribute to the Okinawan language project in the incubator. However, this time I have another favour to ask you. I noticed you've created logos in many smaller Wikiprojects. I would like to ask you to create one in Latvian Wiktionary, if you do not mind. I do not know how to make a transparent one, so I am contacting you. The text should be as follows "Vikivārdnīca. Brīvā vārdnīca". Thank you in advance. -- Wisconsus TALK|things 12:04, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia 10 Phoenix meetup?

Having a email button on your user page and disabling email isn't very nice. Alas, there are more important topics at hand. I saw your edit to the Phoenix page for the ten meetup and agreed, so I I decided to try organizing an actual one. Would you be interested in attending (at a different venue for course)? citation

for this -nd also derived from the word chavano which was coined by the people of Zamboanga[citation needed]

pls see this link http://www.zamboanga.com/history/ http://www.zamboanga.com/z/index.php?title=Chavacano

Sir/Madam, quilaya ba ta pone citation shorcut just right after the sentence? and all the citatiion and proves are all written just below the last page called as "Referecnes, Extenal Links" please try to read those documents.

confusing if not fully understand about the subject.. why? coz in that page, it doesn't only explain about one Dialects of Chavacano but with all the six(6) dialects of Chavacano. If we really try to read carefully and kinly, then we can even observe that these six dialects totally have different grammar system and even in spelling. and aside from that, their origin didn't came in just one place. like for example for CC, it originates in Cavite alone. TC from Ternate and ZC originate in Zamboanga City (then a Republic of Zamboanga).

and i think, thats what the author is trying to do now is to give to give the full idea and knowledge by expanding and gives intensive details to each Dialects. although for the case of CC, TC and EC, they shared the same spelling, grammar and pronunciation. while for the Cot.C, ZC and Castellano Abakay also shared the same spelling and grammar.. except for the Castellano Abakay (Davaoeño Zamboangueño) bcoz this dialect still has 2 sub-dialects and has inlfuences from japanese and chines.

the only reason why the Zamboangueño Language dominates in this article is becuase due ti its number of speakers or considering the most spoken dialect in the Philippines, the Lingua Franca of Zamboanga City and also Zamboanga City is the Birthplace of this said dialect called-Zamboangueño o Chavacano de Zamboanga. and also cosidered as Recognized Minority Language in Semporna, Sabbah-Malaysia.

Sir/Madam, i hope, i was able to explain well. thank you so much..;-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acer Cyle (talkcontribs) 09:44, 25 January 2011 (UTC) --I am Proud Zamboangueño Latino 09:46, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Re; Santa Claus edits

This edit was proselytizing, and inappropriate to the discussion. The article and discussion is read by children and younger persons, and you arguing that Santa isn't real did not address her question nor her concerns. It instead served as a soapbox for your opinions. You are entitled to them, but we are supposed to remain neutral while acting as editors here in Wikipedia. Also understand that while Wikipedia is not censored, we are neither a replacement for parental decisions, either. Towards that end, I would appreciate if you would redact/rewrite your post to reflect neutrality. If you could act quickly on this request, it would be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance. :) - Jack Sebastian (talk) 14:47, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure how it violates policy - care to explain that for me? First of all, it is the truth; second of all, even if you believe differently (which I doubt you truly do), I don't see what's wrong with me making such a statement. I made a factual response to an inquiry. You may be in favor of lying to children, but I however am not, therefore I refuse to redact my statement or allow it to be redacted by others unless there's a good Wikipedia policy-based justification or I am told to do so by a higher Wikipedia power. --ಠ_ಠ node.ue ಠ_ಠ (talk) 17:41, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I've ported this conversation back to your user talk page, as per the instructions regarding conversations on my talk page. Let's have the discussion here, please.
You asked how your comments violate policy. Simply put, they are an example of soapboxing, wherein you are not responding directly to a question posed by a (clearly) younger contributor, but instead are using it to launch a response to what you feel is a 'grave injustice' in the article - ie' lying to kids about Santa Claus. You compound this problem of soapboxing by disrupting the article (and discussion by reverting back in those comments removed) to fight that 'injustice'. We don;t allow this, as per WP:POINT.
Lastly, the reason why I altered the titling in the article was to make it less confrontational and more neutral. We are an encyclopedia, and not a stage for WP:DRAMA. If you wish the title to remain as you wish it, please use the discussion page to initiate a real dialogue about why it should be that way. Making inaccurate accusations of OWNership isn't the way to do it. If you feel at all uncertain about the points I have made to you, please feel free to use the template 'help me', or seek out the guidance of an administrator to confirm what i have said to you here, or simply ask me for more confirmation as to how to better proceed.
I don't want to sound harsh, but if you continue to engage in edit-warring and soap-boxing, I will be forced to file a complaint about your behavior at the administrator's noticeboard. I would prefer to not do this, but it is completely up to you. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 19:06, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I did warn you. If you make another personal attack, such as accusing me of ownership or censorship, you will be reported. You had better be very sure I am wrong before proceeding. Seek better advice than what you are probably getting now. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 06:02, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Added template for SuggestBot

Hi,

Thanks for being one of SuggestBot's users! I hope you have found the bot's suggestions useful.

We are in the process of switching from our previous list-based signup process to using templates and userboxes, and I have therefore added the appropriate template to your user talk page. You should receive the first set of suggestions within a day, and since we'll be automating SuggestBot you will from then on continue to receive them regularly at the desired frequency.

We now also have a userbox that you can use to let others know you're using SuggestBot, and if you don't want to clutter your user talk page the bot can post to a sub-page in your userspace. More information about the userbox and usage of the template is available on User:SuggestBot/Getting Recommendations Regularly.

If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me on my user talk page. Thanks again, Nettrom (talk) 19:24, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

Might be an odd q...

...and it's not my business at all, but can I ask what the hell all this stuff in Talk:Transnistria#Unrecognized.3F is? Like what caused this? I just came to see what people had to say about this snake-shaped Russian puppet and then saw, well THAT. Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable and I can completely understand if you have no desire to talk about it as that sort of message (no matter how bad the guy's English was) would freak anyone out. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie Say Shalom! 06:18, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm, you know I never realised that any Romance language, much less Moldovan (which I'll be honest I think of as being Romanian, but then again I don't know anything else about it) was written, by some at least, in the Cyrillic alphabet, fascinating. Yes, I see that did get somewhat heated, but not as much as say an Israel-Palestine debate (it'll be so weird when that is over with, what will people talk about?!) I know things can get pretty heated in Eastern European discussions (though I thought that usually happened a bit further to the west if you catch my drift), but I never realised they could get so bad in Romania and Moldova (I thought they were happy brother nations, in my American ignorance ofc =p) It does seem odd that they can't have a setup like the Serbo-Croatian wiki: http://sh.wikipedia.org/, but I guess that's a no no for some people? Maybe from earlier (over one post is just strange... alright, strangER), though I can't even start to believe that BS about paying money to track you down and such. It sounds A, creepy, B, Idiotic, and C, pointless. For one thing, posting that on the web, if anything did happen, he'd be the prime suspect, lol. This message is being sent to you because you have previously edited the Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) page. There is currently a discussion that may result in a significant change to Wikipedia policy. Specifically, a consensus is being sought on if the policies of WP:UCN and WP:EN continues to be working policies for naming biographical articles, or if such policies have been replaced by a new status quo. This discussion is on-going at Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (use English), and your comments would be appreciated. Dolovis (talk) 16:50, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Patrice Wilson

Thanks for putting the self-reference that Patrice Wilson made to himself as 'Fat Usher' taken from his YouTube response recording "Say What You Wanna Say", though he did it for self-deprecation value (let me make fun of myself before others make fun of me...) and as a tongue in cheek manner I'm sure ("you can talk talk talk... talk about me" - "the Fat Fat Usher"...) The 'Fat Usher' reference can now stay as far as I'm concerned. The resemblance is actually there of course. It's just that I didn't like the source that you had used on website "guyism". We shoudn't rely in Wikipedia on a site that makes poking fun its primary staple material. Such approach by a site cannot be reliable enough because of, putting it mildly, the dark sarcastic way of presenting things, making them unnewsworthy. Here I am quoting the referenced page which is totally undeserving for Wikipedia referencing under any Wikipedia standard. Immediately after the "Fat Usher" remark you have quoted, he goes on (refer to [2] : "Wow, what a hard-hitting interview! I'm surprised one of the questions wasn't, "Patrice, why is a man so handsome, talented, and well-endowed making other people famous instead of himself? My favorite part of the video (other than how terribly self-important it is overall) is how Wilson uses the last question to provide some sort of pseudo self-help seminar. Spouting nonsense about working hard to achieve dreams and never allowing people to tell you that you can't accomplish something should not come out of the mouth of a guy paid $2,000 to rap in the video of a 13-year-old girl with the perfect pitch of Marlee Matlin." You do understand my reservations about such a site and such terminology in reporting and in using as a reference material for Wikipedia. I may enjoy reading such stuff personally, just for some healthy fun and deprecation, we all like to bash others, but I refrain from using it as a reference in Wikipedia. werldwayd (talk) 21:01, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Oh congrats on graduating! I decided to graduate in December rather than last month. I finished my honors thesis last month and my advisor accepted it. So I was pretty stoked about that. I am looking into doctorate programs myself and preparing for the GRE. And I agree with you on translation/interpretation - not my bag. I am too much of a perfectionist with that lol. As for the Chavacano video - that was one of a few videos I showed during my presentation in pidgins & creoles class. And as for languages, I just finished 2 years of Modern Hebrew and I just started taking an Icelandic class this summer! --Chris S. (talk) 08:20, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Plautdietsch, which is a part of East Low German seems to get its own Wikipedia. The remainder of East Low German would seem to stay with nds Wikipedia. I hence ask you to join the discussion. Best wishes, Sarcelles (talk) 15:27, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

Moldovan language

Hello,

Thank you for your support, I'll review the bibliography soon and make some additions to the 'Linguistic aspects' section. Back then I also added some remarks in the article ( [3] [4] [5] ), and I think they can be further expanded, perhaps in a section about Moldovan self-perceptions.
