Your file uploads

Hi Hilldoug750057. You seem to have recently uploaded a number of TV station logos as non-free files, but many of these have been removed by a WP:BOT per WP:NFC#Implementation and WP:NFCC#10c. The "problem" is that although you're adding Template:Non-free media data to each file's page, you're failing to provide a non-free use rationale for the articles where you want to use the files. The "Non-free media data" template can be used to provide general information about a non-free file's provenance, but it's not a non-free use rationale per se. If you're going to use this template, you're going to also need to use Template:Non-free media rationale with it to avoid your file uploads from being flagged as possible Non-free content use policy violations. You can see how these two template are used together by looking at the "Non-free media data" template's documentation page. For reference, there are other non-free rationale templates like Template:Non-free use rationale that can also be used instead of the "Non-free media data" and "Non-free media rationale" template combination; so, there are a couple of ways to "fix" this problem. Anyway, please go back and recheck your uploads for missing rationales; otherwise, they will be removed by bots and ultimately end up deleted as orphaned non-free use. I fixed the issue for a couple of the files, but there are probably many more that you uploaded which need to be checked. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:51, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:KARP.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:KARP.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:25, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. In particular, please do not remove {{Orphaned non-free revisions}} tags as you've done on 10 file pages. They're there for a reason – the old revisions need to be hidden by someone with the proper rights to comply with copyright laws, etc. Bsoyka (talk · contribs) 18:36, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of information

That was intended and per policy. Detail like that is usually considered trivia unless there is some sort of notable significance to the song beyond it just being a routine format flip. In addition, how you did so is original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. ViperSnake151  Talk  02:39, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:The CW Twin Cities Logo 2022.jpg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. The Quirky Kitty (talk) 22:03, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. Just updated it. Thank you for being a respectful person and reaching out to me about fixing this issue. Many others would just delete my edits and posts without explaining what I did incorrectly. Hilldoug750057 (talk) 21:10, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
