Animax Hungary is a Hungarian anime TV channel, and the local branch of Sony Corporation's international Animax network. Animax Hungary and it's other central-european counterparts has replaced the A+ channel in Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia in April 11, 2007. This was Animax's first major expansion to Europe.[1][2][3] Current programs are either dubbed to the local languages of each country, or they are in japanese with local subtitles.

A+ (Anime+, Anime Plus) originally launched in December 4, 2004, and was broadcast in Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia either via cable or satellite TV systems. It was acquired by Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) in October 2006. All programs prior to this aquisition was dubbed to the local languages.
