Tagged as no permission --Rlandmann (talk) 19:51, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Deleted as blatant copyvio, one of several by this user from a variety of Flickr sources --Rlandmann (talk) 20:02, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
It looks like a scan of a cd-cover, so I'm doubting it's PD. Q T C 09:01, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Tagged as lacking source and license data for the original image within this derivative work --Rlandmann (talk) 20:11, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Blatant copyvio of this. Asenine 10:34, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Sourced here, no PD assertion. Asenine 10:37, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Blatant copyvio of a blatant copyvio... --Rlandmann (talk) 20:17, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Blatant copyvio of this, no PD at source. Asenine 10:41, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Claims permission, but no OTRS link present. Asenine 11:16, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
States 'free use authorized' but no OTRS. Asenine 11:22, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- No idea what OTRS stands for. Mrs. Kiester released this photo to accompany her biographies, as printed in her books, and alongside articles in other media. In order to accertain the availability of use, I contacted her via her email posted on her publisher site. She responded, allowing use, and sent another copy of the photo. Any further question can be directed to me on my talk page. JAGUITAR (Rawr) 14:48, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
States PD, but no source to clarify. Asenine 11:23, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
The source is now on the picture. It comes directly from Admiral Farragut Academy who has give me the PD rights for it. Afuller2028 (talk) 19:21, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
No GNU/CC license at website. Asenine 11:24, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Looks to be a professional publicity-type shot. I can't (in a ten second search) find the same image online, but I did find this thumbnail. J Milburn (talk) 13:01, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I have already stipulated in both the Summary and License that I am the owner of this photograph. I have also permitted its use on other websites besides Wikipedia. It has also been used on other websites with and without my permission, but as I posted it as free use, I have no problem with its additional distribution elsewhere. Are you saying that my Summary and License were somehow incomplete? If something is missing, please advise and I'll happily correct it. Thanks. X4n6 (talk) 06:38, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Imprecise source provided. I don't read Bulgarian, but I doubt that it is licensed under GFDL- I can't see anything that looks like a GFDL notice on the site. J Milburn (talk) 13:09, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Looks very much like a publicity photo. J Milburn (talk) 14:06, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Image is dated 1936. Unlikely the uploader is the author. J Milburn (talk) 14:12, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Image taken from a book printed by Curt Rabitzsch, Leipzig. I guess it is free. Best --Weissmann (talk) 14:14, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- We need to know who the author of the book was, so that we can work out if he's been dead for 70 years yet. If not, this image will not be in the public domain yet. --Rlandmann (talk) 23:25, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Author of book was Gustaf Kossinna. He died 1931. Best --Weissmann (talk) 12:50, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Dud source, looks like a thumbnail image from a commercial site. Probably not freely licensed. J Milburn (talk) 14:44, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Small size, no meta-data. Possibly taken from elsewhere. J Milburn (talk) 15:13, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Uploader claims to hold the copyright, but I'm close to 100% certain that this is a professional promotional shot. Probably a case for speedy deletion, but I thought I'd list it here just to make sure. GaryColemanFan (talk) 17:57, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
There is a trademark in the image, so this is highly unlikely to be GFDL. Asenine 20:09, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- Trademark and copyright are two distinct concepts. An image can be trademarked but still freely licensed. In any case solid proof must be gived that this logo is GFDL. -- Bryan (talk|commons) 22:01, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
The uploader has uploaded a same version (To be speedy deleted after this discssion) with other information. (s)he added a link to a external website. OsamaK 22:26, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Uploader has a historyof uploading copyrighted umages under public domain licenses and this seems like another likely case. Up until recently it had no source information, and even now it barely has any, appears to have been taken professionally and is of a man who has been dead for several years now. The likelihood that this is the uploaders own work is remote. — –– Lid(Talk) 22:36, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- It should also be noted that the image description cannot possibly be true. It states that the image is of Smith at a dark match during a pay-per-view event. He is shown holding the Intercontinental Championship, which he won in the main event (not a dark match) at SummerSlam 1992. Prior to the next pay-per-view event, he was fired. This was his only reign as Intercontinental champion, so the image cannot come from another pay-per-view. I believe that this is a copyrighted image of SummerSlam 1992.
