Bayou Plaquemine Brule (pronounced "PLA-kuh-min BROO-lee", translated to "burnt persimmon bayou" [1]) is a waterway in the Mermentau River basin of south Louisiana. The bayou is 75 mi/121 km long and is navigable for 19 mi/31 km of the lower course. [2]

One of the first settlers of the area was Michel Comeau. [3]
