July 2009 Newsletter

Anybody wants to start working on July 2009 Newsletter ? -- Tinu Cherian - 10:27, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here are several items that could be covered in the newsletter.
Great list...looking forward to see the newsletter. Similar to what Signpost is doing, how about adding a WikiProject report for India workgroups. I would like to request a little writeup of WP:CHENNAI if possible. It goes well with the WP takes Chennai event. Karnataka would be a good start...with them having the largest number of FAs. May be you can interview their FA writers. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 03:31, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, they have all retired, the most prolific being dineshkannambadi (talk · contribs) after Fowler&fowler (talk · contribs) went to every one of his FACs and FARs and posted long essays of 50kb trying to prove that the article was the worst ever, that every sentence was wrong, etc etc... and as hardly anybody supported him (the other KN guys having become too busy), he quit, taking with him about 70% of the FA productivity. Is anybody interested in copy editing or adding more content to July 2009 Newsletter ? I am hoping to deliver it by the weekend ! -- Tinu Cherian - 07:50, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I made a few small changes. Ncmvocalist (talk) 18:21, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It would be a good idea to add links to the current Collaborations of the month:

Perhaps this can even be a regular feature in the newsletter. Comments or objections ? Abecedare (talk) 18:35, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Added the above WP:INCOTM and other things. Can somebody do a final copy edit and go ahead before I bomb them on the talk pages ? -- Tinu Cherian - 05:47, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please review my changes and take a final look before the newsletter is delivered. Great work! Congratulations to the editors (and copy-editors) who put this together—quite a collaboration. Happy editing, [sd] 02:21, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think we are ready to go now ! Thanks all... Watch ur talk pages now -- Tinu Cherian - 13:40, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doing... : My pet TinucherianBot (talk · contribs) is currently busy with the delivery of the newsletter ! -- Tinu Cherian - 14:43, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Liaquat Ali Khan GA Sweeps: On Hold

I have reviewed Liaquat Ali Khan for GA Sweeps to determine if it still qualifies as a Good Article. In reviewing the article I have found several issues, which I have detailed here. Since the article falls under the scope of this project, I figured you would be interested in contributing to further improve the article. Please comment there to help the article maintain its GA status. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Happy editing! Vandalism of India pages by User By78

The user By78 is using Wikipedia to spread his bias and has made numerous edits to India articles that cite sources which are inaccurate, outdated or biased. His edits have a fundamentally anti-India character to them and he must be closely watched.

See : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Edits_by_User_By78

Vedant (talk) 21:45, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you provide some differences or examples when he has shown a strong anti-India character. And for other users [1], his contributions. While his so called youtube page might be strongly anti-Indian (isn't it funny, China is perfectly awesome, India is the worst country in the world), some of his edits are correct as there should not list of missile under development listed, as they should probably be tested before they are included in a list with other countries missile which have been fully tested. And should we bring him here to get his opinion on this accusation? Deavenger (talk) 22:14, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
