Excessive details must be removed
TV ratings are notable--yes. But they must be left to their individual pages. Sure, Wizards may be a big part to her career, but it does not imply that she must have all the details about Wizards in her career section though. The career section is simply a summary of her career. And this does not include TV ratings and the sort since they are not really RELEVANT to her career, but only to her shows. Another thing is that filming details should be left alone their own articles since it has nothing to do with the evolution of her career. Same with the tv ratings. You can't just simply say "the tv ratings made her attain roles out of Disney" because that would lead to suspicion on where did you get that info. Then, you can't just simply say that "THE WIZARDS MOVIE WAS THE MOST-WATCHED DCOM IN HISTORY" so? It should be left to its own article since the record it achieved is not only credited to Gomez. I hope other editors will read and understand this. Kikkokalabud (talk)
- While I do agree with you on the 'tv ratings' I think that information such as: "The show debuted on October 12, 2007. The series has an average of over 4 million per-episode[1] and the show's all-time highest viewership of an audience of over 6 million.[2]" should be added. Didn't she sing that song? 12.218.12.255 (talk) 00:05, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Lemony_Snicket
- No she didn't. She did the physical performance, the vocals were performed by another person. --NrDg 18:29, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

IT'S NOT SELENA GOMEZ AND IT DOESN'T SOUND A THING LIKE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.70.92 (talk) 02:12, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Selena sang in her Christmas 'O8 video greeting acapella. It's not possible that she has some sort of amplifier or any other technological stuff. Her voice there is good and sounds like her record. Why would she record an album if the singer is not her? It would be useless and pointless to release the record without crediting the real singer. So most probably, she sang the songs in her record and this song.
That is sooooooooooooooooooooooo not her! I'm a total righter not a total wronger. Did u buy her cd? Uh no! well ur wrong! That's not her! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.171.0.148 (talk) 15:56, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
IT ISN'T HER IF YOU'VE EVER SEEN GET A CLUE STARRING LINDSEY LOHAN AND BRENDA SONG THE SAME SONG IS IN THE BACKGROUND —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.174.166.195 (talk) 00:11, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
Okay I think people need to calm down here. I have no doubt Selena Gomez can sing the song, but the singer Julie Griffin has an album by the same name with the song on - here a link to it on Rhapsody - Rhapsody.com. If you have listened to Selena's other singles you might realise the voice on 'If Cupid Had A Heart' sounds different to all her other songs. Anyway I think you are straying from the point - Selena Gomez is a good singer - you should all be focusing on that not on petty issues like did she really sing the song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RockTheWorld09 (talk • contribs) 16:48, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
i dont think whether or not she sang the song is "petty", and no, i dont think she sang it. BUT she has a gr8 voice, so i doesnt matter if she did lip-sync on one song. ROCK ON SELLY! *dream on*dance on* 00:14, 1 December 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Taylor Lane (talk • contribs) I am not sure whether or not she sang the song, but it didn't sound like her. But, either way, I don't think it needs to be mentioned because, if she did sing the song, she only sang part of it. 8:42, 19 January 2010--Mackenziealice (talk) 15:43, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Selena's personal life
You should of added about Her brakeing up with Nick Jonas.her mom had her at 16 if you dont believe me add it up her mom is 32 now which would make her 16 when she had her.I dislike the show but I like her I have Her poster on my door my friend is obessedwith her —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.229.42.85 (talk) 16:59, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- This article is about Selena Gomez, not her mother. No reliable source (gossip sites are not reliable) makes mention of any relationship with Jonas and the principals deny it. --NrDg 20:42, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
"brakeing up?" Oh, yes. You seem very credible. I believe you. < / sarcasm > You must not have been following the news too closely; there has not been any confirmation of a relationship between them. They made that video and then from that fans and journalists feeding off of fan frenzy began creating a relationship between them, much like with many male-female friendships in Hollywood. If there is something that Selena does, other than a quote, that could possibly, and reasonably, include the age of her mother when she was born, then I'm sure it will be added.75.179.161.245 (talk) 01:39, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Shouldn't the fact that she wears a promisary ring and is saving herself until marriage be mentioned? It's obviously an important aspect of her personal life to her.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.71.29.190 (talk • contribs) 16:18, May 29, 2009 (UTC)
On June 5th, 2009 Selena Gomez twittered, "I'm gonna move to Indiana. Is that cool Indiana?" Therefore, she is moving to Indiana. I got that from her personal Twitter account. That is really important because moving is a big change, especially moving across the country. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emg123123 (talk • contribs) 20:59, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Moving is not very important, and i honestly don't think shes moving just because she said so on Twitter. Frehley 21:37, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think you completely get twitter . . . I can't figure out how to explain how you know, but she WAS joking. There are certain things she says on Twitter, though, that could be put in here as fact, though they are not really encyclopedic.75.179.161.245 (talk) 04:32, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
In the newest article of Seventeen, Selena Gomez did admit to dating Nick and implied that he broke up with her and having a feud with Miley last year. Not sure if you want to add that... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.11.186.170 (talk) 19:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Besides basketball, Selena Gomez is also a big fan of soccer. She is known to be a big fan of Real Madrid C.F.. Her favorite soccer player is Cristiano Ronaldo, who is one of the best soccer players in the world, also playing for Real Madrid. He happens to be Selena's second big crush after Shia Labeouf. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryanthegreat10 (talk • contribs) 03:23, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

Can someone update the page showing she is 18? 69.14.91.247 (talk) 20:07, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
- Age calculations are automatic based on birthdate. At this time, she has only been 17 for a couple of weeks.—Kww(talk) 20:09, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
SHE IS NOT 18!! SHE'S 17! SHE TURNED 17 ON JULY 22ND!!!!
You are mistaken she turned 18 Last July STUPID! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.171.0.148 (talk) 20:40, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
No, ur wrong. in the first season of WOWP she was referred to as 14 years old. That was 3 years ago. Thus, she should be 17, turning 18 next year. DUH —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.35.179.194 (talk) 01:15, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

I propose we delete the controversey section as it is short and poorly written. Plus it's not much of a controversy - just girls wearing bikinis. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.11.186.170 (talk) 18:55, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Selena Gomez discography
I am proposing a new article entitled Selena Gomez discography. With several charting singles, now a debut album, participation in soundtracks and compilation albums and music videos, Selena Gomez has plenty of information for her own discography page. I however need conscientious, please share your opinion. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 23:27, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Only two of her solo songs have charted. --Randolph3 23:31, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Tell Me Something I Don't Know, One and the Same, Magic and Send It On on the Hot 100, New Classic under the Bubbling Under Hot 100 and Cruella de Vil on the Pop 100. That's five charting singles. Other discographies like Mitchel Musso's have less. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 05:13, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm all for it. Shes going to be releasing more music in the future anyways. It'll make more sense to release it now.Sunshine ☼ (talk) 19:15, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's a pretty good decision for her own Discography page. She has released singles (all of which are charted too), done songs for various soundtracks and she's now even debuting her album. It makes pretty good sense for a discography page.
- She already has many songs, and I think that she needs a discography page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.145.138.183 (talk) 03:15, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
With this I believe a discography page may be made, feel free to help and edit. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 20:55, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose. 5 soundtrack appearances, 7 music videos, and 4 singles. Only two of her songs have charted. Keep it merged to this page for now. When she has more charted singles, perhaps then an article can be created. But not now. POKERdance talk/contribs 21:31, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- One and the Same, Send it On have also charted. Besides, charted songs aren't the only requirements needed. She has made enough music so far with soundtracks, singles and her album. So a Discography page can and should be made. --GalaxyTurboTwister
- I think it should be done. She has been involved in several music projects, many of which have charted. The only thing I have a problem with is that her new music is under name "Selena Gomez & The Scene", so would her discography page have sections for The Scene and solo projects? Akcvtt (talk) 02:00, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- Strongly oppose this. A discography page for 4 singles and 5 soundtrack appearances? Broken up and fragmented into a weird little pieces because she has never done an entire project on her own, so you are going to have a little table for TV show songs, and a little one for soundtracks, and one for done with a group, and one for this and one for that? Makes no sense at all to me.—Kww(talk) 02:07, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think we should once her album comes out--Debbie rocks (talk) 00:04, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think it should be done. She has now 7 singles, 11 soundtrack appearances, a debut-album and 7 music videos...! other singers like Demi Lovato have not more singles. (sorry for the englisch, I'm from germany.)-- 84.150.202.197 (talk) 15:07, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think that her discography should have it's own section. Ashley92995 (talk) 22:07, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- Selena gomez Discography —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gagawiki (talk • contribs) 02:52, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- I definately think that Selena Gomez should get her own discography page. Not having many charting singles, as some people are saying, isn't a good excuse not to give her one. I know some artists on here with no charting singles yet they get they own discography page. Besides if she had a discography page it would be able to give more information on her singles, albums, and contributions to soundtracks.--RockTheWorld09 (talk) 16:21, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Birthplace and race
Why dibt Hi!!! Though not a bid deal, one fact is incorrect. Selena is Mexican, definitely. And her MOTHER is half-white and half-Mexican. She is just Mexican. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Angellebrad (talk • contribs) 18:24, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- I have heard that her mother, Mandy, was full Italian American, while the dad was Mexican American. And also, many biographies state she was born in NYC but moved to Texas as a baby? (PEOPLE.com says she was born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, which is what this article uses as a source.) ★Dasani★ 23:12, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- Erm I have no idea about what race her parents are but I know one thing for certain, Selena Gomez is American. She was born in America which by law makes her American, although if her parents were Mexican then you could say she has Mexican ethnicity, but she would still be classed as American.--RockTheWorld09 (talk) 16:12, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Taylor Lautner
Should there be any mention in the personal life section that she is dating Taylor Lautner, or is that not relevant, or maybe not properly verifiable according to Wikipedia's standards? - 121.208.89.240 (talk) 07:14, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think so, since it's never been confirmed. 96.235.21.29 (talk) 18:25, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
she never went out w/ taylor. when being interviewed and asked whether or not she was dating taylor she said she was single. not sure wat that site is, but i think i could get it. hollywood just wants to create drama, and according to them selly should be dating so they create all this stuff just cuz they walked together and looked in each others general direction. i do that all the time w/ guys im not dating!! come on, you cant believe everything hollywood speculates for drama!!!! official website
why does the official website short cut go to face book she has an official website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ltmssbb (talk • contribs) 01:56, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- She doesn't have an official website. She purchased a domain and had it redirect to Facebook (some people also do the same with MySpace). The link says selenagomez.com. Maybe she had one in the past. ★Dasani★ 21:53, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yah, I was suprised by it, only like last month she had a official website www.selenagomez.com, which was one page that linked to her myspace, youtube, facebook, and twitter, but now it just redirects to her facebook account -Setsuna29 (talk) 02:45, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
{{editsemiprotected}} I suggest adding Selena Gomez & The Scene's Twitter to this section. http://www.twitter.com/SelenaNTheScene as confirmed by Selena's Twitter @selenagomez prior to her album release.Lacy628 (talk) 10:42, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Disney Fan Promotions [3]
- It would be more appropriate to put that on Selena Gomez and the Scene rather than Gomez's biography. Josh Parris 12:47, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Her First Non-Disney Film
Okay when talking about Selena's new film Ramona and Beezus there are several mistakes that I can make out. Erm for one it is badly written so some of it doesn't make sense, like this bit:
In February, 2009, Gomez began singed onto star as one of the two female leads in Ramona and Beezus a film adaption of the children's novel series by Beverly Cleary.
There shouldn't really be a comma before '2009', and 'Gomez began singed onto' doesn't make a whole lot of sense - I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to say but is it meant to mean she's been signed to star as one of two female leads.
Okay, second is that it says Ramona and Beezus will be Gomez's first non-disney film. Which isn't actually true. It will be her second as the film Another Cinderella Story, in which she plays Mary, was done by Warner Bros - not Disney.
Please can you review this information as the first bit's hard to understand properly and the second bit's misleading.--RockTheWorld09 (talk) 15:49, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Recent edits
Kikkokalabud has been removing - what I feel is notable information to Gomez' page. While I do put into consideration that most film/tv information isn't always notable, some information is - like the information that currently appears on her page - like for example('s): The film's revenue, critcial recetion, records, etc, TV's ratings, viewership, start and end date, number of episodes in total, etc. Ashley92995 (talk) 23:29, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
- The information isn't being removed from Wikipedia, it's being removed from this individual article. That's why we have wikilinks. People that are interested in knowing more detail about something can click the link and see it. Including all this detail in the artist article actually makes it harder to see the information about the artist because it gets drowned in details about individual projects.—Kww(talk) 12:52, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Associated Acts
Currently, it is listed that Selena Gomez associated acts are 'Selena Gomez and the Scene' and Demi Lovato. But it used to be that her associated acts were: Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Forever the Sickest Kids, Drew Seeley(I think?), and maybe some others. I'm not sure which is correct, but I just wanted to point it out. 8:25, 19 January 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mackenziealice (talk • contribs)
