Makole is a settlement and a municipality in in northeastern Slovenia. It lies in the valley of the river Dravinja. Traditionally the area was part of the Lower Styria region. It belonged to the Slovenska Bistrica municipality until 2006 when it became an independant municipality. The municipality is now included in the Podravje statistical region. It is first mentiioned in written documents dating to 1375 and was also granted market rights.[2]

The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Andrew and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maribor. It is a Gothic building dating to 1441 that was restyled in the Baroque in the 18th century.[3]
