From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 80.1.80.5 (talk) at 23:47, 30 December 2010 (Y). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This list is for people who ranked General or Brigadier including British Indian army and "non-notable" generals. It is not complete - please add to it if you know of any omissions.

It does not include English generals (England has not had its own army since the Act of Union with Scotland in 1707) or Scottish generals.

See also Category:British generals - note that a "Brigadier" is not classed as a "general", whereas a "Brigadier General" is.

Hence, in the lists below:

  • 1* = Brigadier General/Brigadier
  • 2* = Major General
  • 3* = Lieutenant General
  • 4* = General

(dates after the name are birth and death)
