You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.Racing Shell and Olympic Class BoatsHi David, You recent made this edit to the Racing shell article because you disagree that "Racing Shells" are sometimes referred to as "Olympic Class Racing Shells." I ask that you reconsider your edit. Even if your assertion that "boats such as 2+ and 4+ are not Olympic classes" were true (which it is not as I explain below), I would argue that the term "Olympic Class Shell" is still a relevant synonym for "Racing Shell" because the 1X, 2X, 2-, 4X, 4- (men only), and 8+ were all raced at the 2008 Olympics. We appear to agree that these configurations are olympic class boats, and my edit to the article stating that "a racing shell is also referred to as the Olympic class boat" is accurate and informative even if (as you assert) Olympic class is a subset of racing shell/fine boats. Furthermore, as I mentioned before, your assertion that "boats such as 2+ and 4+ are not Olympic classes" is misleading or inaccurate for two reasons. First, the 2+ and 4+ were raced in the Olympics for a century and as recently as the 1992 Olympics, so it is not accurate to state that these configurations are not Olympic with nothing furhter. Second, your edit inaccurately conflates "Olympic Rowing Events" with "Olympic Class Racing Shell." These concepts are distinct and independent. The term "Olympic class boat" refers generally to those types of boats with a long slender design in the same way that fine boat or racing shell does. Referring to such a boat as an "Olympic class boat" is accurate independent of whether its configuration is currently raced in the Olympics or even whether it was ever raced in the Olympics. For example, an 8+ is an olympic class boat even if a particular manufacturer has never built a boat that has raced in the Olympics. Moreover, when Empacher makes and 8+ for a 155 pound crew, it is still an Olympic class boat even though there has never been a lightweight 8 Olympic event. And of course, if a crew puts sculling rigors on an Olympic class 8, the boat does not cease to be and Olympic class boat simply because there has never been an Octuple Olympic event. It currently (after your revert) reads "Two such systems exist for the United Kingdom: this article describes the one used for Great Britain and its outlying islands (including the Isle of Man); a similar system, used throughout Ireland (including Northern Ireland), is the Irish grid reference system (used jointly by the Ordnance Survey of Ireland and the former Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland)." The article states there are two in the UK, and there are, and it does so for a reason. The point being made in the article is that although there is a "British" grid system, not all "British" countries use the same system, since Northern Ireland uses a different one. Someone has poured you tea.Cyprus Medal TallyI have absolutely no idea how the Official site counted the bronze as 3. Mr. Romanenko obviously has set the goal for himself to harm Valerij Nikolaevskij, being a personal enemy of his ever since the author's life in Russia. The article is very important. In this article, we get to know how the writer Valery Nikolaevsky lived in Russia and fought against the Gang of Eight during the times of Gorbachev. Obviously the likes of Romanenko still can't get along with it. The article includes precise quotes, dates and sources. The deletion of the Russian article by Romanenko (one of the best articles in the Russian wiki) demonstrated his hatred for the talented Russian intelligentsia and for the writer Valery Nikolaevsky. The article must not be deleted. In it, we read the truth about the Gorbachev era in the city of Tolyatti. The creative intelligentsia is observing this process. We need your help for the recreation of the article, which without a doubt is “notable”. The German and French “Wikipedia” refused to participate in the deletion of their respective articles on the writer/dissident. We attach a copy of the entire deleted article. His father, Ukrainian, Mikhail Vladimirovich Nikolayevsky was a Soviet fleet officer and doctor during the World War, who died on field 1943. His mother, Dora Yakovlevna, of Jewish descent, was an actress and worker of culture. She passed in 1976. In 1945, Nikolayevsky was separated from his mother and lived in an orphanage in Western Ukraine. After a country-wide search he was eventually found in 1950 and brought back to his relatives to Moscow. After the 8th grade of Soviet school, he was called by the Communist Party to work on various jobs all around Russia, including construction and a position with the Russian civil fleet. Nikolayevsky became leader of a young Communist group in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. However, because of his criticisms of the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev, he was banished from the group and monitored by the KGB. After Khrushchev’s dismissal, Nikolayevsky moved to Tolyatti, where he founded the "club of creative intelligence" and the historical literary center House of Repin (Дом Репина) and the head of the literature union “Slovo”. In 1983, Nikolayesky finished courses of the Cultural Ministry of RSFSR and received a diploma as director of literary theater. (Swiss journal, “Der Landbote”, Number 187, “Russland ist im Moment kein glückliches Land”, Aug. 16 1996) His literary teachers were the Nobel Prize-nominated Konstantin Georgiyevich Paustovsky and Ruvim Isayevich Frayerman, recipient of a literary prize from Vatican for his book “Wild Dog Dingo, or the story of the first love”. Nikolayevsky’s first literary works were published in 1964 in the journal “Soviet Russia”. In 1982 Nikolayevsky became laureate (diploma and medal) of the pansoviet theatrical festivals as director and playwright. (Registrated by the Ministry of Culture of the USSR and the USSR Authors’ Guild, Dec. 1 1983) For his work on the poet Yevgeny Baratynsky, he received a literature prize by the pansoviet Komsomol Central Committee journal “Smena”. Even in this time two books from Nikolayevsky were published at the central publishing company of Moscow “Misl”. In the year 1990 he was pushed from “the experimental theater” and from the house of culture “50 years October”, as a candidate to a delegate of the Oblast council. After a few months Gorbachev himself was arrested on the Foros resort by the Gang of Eight. In Tolyatti, in the end of 1990, a coup was hit on the Gorbachev supporter Nikolayevsky. In the year 1991, Nikolayevsky immigrated to Israel with his wife and his three months old son Dan. His bibliofilm-novel “Dangerous Patrician” (pub. Lexicon, 1991) was published in Jerusalem. 37 literary works by Nikolayevsky – novel chapters, essays, poetry, children’s poetry, humoristic poetry – were published in Israel: “Haoketz”, no. 6, 10/1993, no. 14 12/1993; “Windows”, 25/09/1992, 23/10/1992…; “Echo” no. 248, 05/01/1994; “Secret” no. 10, 16/09/1994… (Tel Aviv). Nikolayevsky is a member of the “Association of independent Russian authors”, of the “Writers Guild of Israel” and the international writer organisation “PEN”. Since 1996 he lives in Vienna. He has had a bypass operation in 1997. In Vienna, he has three children.
