GA review
Thanks for taking up the review for Stone Rollin'. Usually it can take week or several for one of those nominations to get taken up. Dan56 (talk) 19:23, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, I really hate to see the number of nominations getting bigger, hence thought of eliminating those from below. Twisted theory I know. — Legolas(talk2me)05:25, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey I saw you removed the image of into The groove i Posted on the LAV article and i also saw your message saying that it won't be accepted what do you mean by that?? Also I posted that image in that for that particular section because i feel we need one that is facing towards the right or if not then change the quote box to the left and change the image that is already there to the right so it faces to the right. What do you think??-MindyHall (talk) 23:13, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My point was with the Freedom of PAnorama policy of Wikimedia Commons. The image displays a substantial amount of the background video, which is copyrighted per FOP. Same images were just deleted from Commons not even a month ago, and these will face the same fate as well. And images face towards the article not away from it. — Legolas(talk2me)04:24, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey I uploaded these 2 pictures of the same "ITG" performance and I was thinking if we could use any of these, since you can hardly see the backdrop images. What do you think??
Nice images, but the present images we have in the articles are of much, much higher resolution and front-faced than the ones uploaded. — Legolas(talk2me)15:45, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cool thanks. By the way I have been reading some of your pages/posts and I should probably apologise for the trouble I have caused you. You have quite a portfolio for wikipedia I must say. Muthamonster (talk) 06:21, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem and no harm done. Sometimes people learn it the hard way I guess, and as for profiles, I try my best that's all I can say. — Legolas(talk2me)06:51, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Legolas. The review is up, and the nomination has been placed on hold for a period of seven days. Additional instructions and information is found on the nom page. Good luck! much to do.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me03:50, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, first off talkback on my page (just continue the convo here), second it looks like "Harold" hasn't been scrapped because her promo team is blabbing that she filmed a music video last week and didnt tell anyone, but the song its for is unknown, just so you are aware =P - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 04:07, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I've addressed/responded to your comments on the article's GA nomination page. I'll see what I can do about the Fair Use rationales. Thanks. WesleyDodds (talk) 05:11, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that too, but since I don;t find Idolator reliable, (their description gives me creeps) well I guess MTV will be reporting sometime soon. — Legolas(talk2me)08:10, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Lol, agreed. The name sounds ghetto, yet the art and web design is, shall I say, gay. Also, let's not forget they screwed up the Britney "I Wanna Go" cover, I doubt I'll ever forget that one lol. Others will surely become available soon.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me08:12, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I hate that website, especially Becky Bain. She NEVER writes something good about Beyonce. Can you imagine that she was not even satisfied with "Countdown"? I feel like ......... Just fed up of her tripe. Jivesh • Talk2Me08:22, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Dude, themusic we all listen to is gay. I mean Mariah, Madonna, Gaga, Britney!? Hehe, doesn't get much gayer than those :P (Ok, maybe Cher and Liza lol). Well Jivesh, sorry to say that during this era, neither do I :P--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me08:24, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nathan, are you serious? Do we listen to gay music? And about the album, i bet you will be eating your words when you pay more attention to the ballads. To me, "I Miss You" is a 100% Mariah Carey Song. Jivesh • Talk2Me08:26, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know but I think Mimi and Nippy appeal more to straight audience than Gaga nd Madonna. Must be the case of theatrics vs straight-up singing. Yes, a general consensus would be that gay men like a colorful show more than the straight crowd, hence I am basing my assumptions on that. And Kesha has earned respect to me now as an artist. Jivesh, we ar enot talking about Yonka here, GET OUT of her CRACK NOW!!! — Legolas(talk2me)08:29, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, I am not. Those are pretty gay artists, but as we can all agree, most of the best! And "I Was Here" remains the only song I like for 4 :P Lol, this Yonka name always makes me chuckle. BTW Legolas, your opinion here please. I have come up with a theory that 4 was purposefully leaked by her management. I think that they know (we all do) that the album was going to fail and sell poorly, so in order to save Knowles the embarrassment of having a Glitter, they chose to leak it as an excuse for why it will fail. Like "well, the album leaked 3 weeks before its release, so thats why it did so poorly." I think Knowles is going to scrap the project (do little promo) and try another album in another 9 months. What do you think about my whole conspiracy theory? :D--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me08:33, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Couldn't agree more Nat. Good thinking, and I would be super-duperly disappointed and angry with her if she even gives such a pathetic excuse for flopping. I can't stand artists who don;t deal with failure instead of finding excuses. Jivesh I refuse to talk to you if you continue making me want to hear 4 before the release date by resorting to torrent downloads. No can't do!! — Legolas(talk2me)08:46, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Jivesh, he doesn't mean it that way! Lol, boy, you got all of us running :P Yup, I agree, I bet you thats going to be her "reason", you'll see.. I first thought about it when she publicly announced it to the world. I mean who the F does that? Britney didn't, Gaga didn't, so what gives! Its a clear indication of a set-up, and that its going to be her excuse for it!--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me08:54, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Jivesh, you should think about Suga Mama not be a Drama-mama! :P Well did Yonka announce about the leak to the world? I wasn't aware. What did she say? — Legolas(talk2me)09:14, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yup! Which is why I so think its a set-up. She announced on her Facebook that she's upset the music was presented in such a fashion, but happy the fans like it (umm, who?) lol. Sources even took notice. Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, MTV. Her exact post read "My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans. When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat. I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs." Umm,, what is she smoking? lol--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me09:20, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I told you all that way before Avi. He is my inspiration. I have started editing after noticing his great work on B articles. Anyway, how are you doing? I know you are fine, what i want to know is whether you can use your hand and leg? Have you recovered completely? Jivesh • Talk2Me15:29, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not 100%, maybe 80. I'm walking with a stick now, another 6 weeks till i recover fully. My left hand is stll bent a little and that would take time. — Legolas(talk2me)15:49, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you have a supportive wife. If yes, you are really lucky man. Hmmmmm, walking with a stick. Reminds me of my late grandfather. Jivesh • Talk2Me15:58, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Her label has confirmed the total opposite. However, i think Beyonce should put some uptempo and dance-pop flavored tracks for the deluxe edition. Jivesh • Talk2Me12:16, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think they are doing the right thing. Beyonce has admitted that she does not want than and she is flying back to the US to fight for her opinion but it seems Jay-Z won't agree. He is urging the label to convince Beyonce to record a new album. Jivesh • Talk2Me12:45, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Help
Hello :) Okay, I finished my work on Irresistible (finally!). If you're free, can you do a quick c/e and if possible, can you suggest which song's sample should I add/upload to Composition section?? Thanks.. Novice7 (talk) 13:13, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, only if you can, would you be able to do give a Peer Review currently on the on the S&M article? No one has given one yet. I requested one to see what else needs to be done to the article before i nominate for GA again. Thanks. calvin999 (talk) 17:28, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks :). When you say "wholly revamp and copy-edit the article", what do you mean by this, re-write the entire article?! calvin999 (talk) 11:57, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You know you just reverted my edit reverting that IP User, how come you said it's a valid chart but removed it from S&M saying it's unnecessary? calvin999 (talk) 14:37, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What was you saying was unnecessary? Because someone had added the "Brasil Hot Pop & Popular Songs" chart but now it is not there.calvin999 (talk) 14:49, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the Romania chart because there is no archive and peak position will be difficult to verify. As for Billboard Brazil Hot Pop, its also unnecessary to add it when the Hot 100 Airplay is already present. — Legolas(talk2me)14:52, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wait some time, any trusted user will come and check the file. I would also advice you not to upload these images, as they are kinda blurry and fade in their resolution. Its better you search for extreme high quality images, which I'm sure are available. — Legolas(talk2me)05:59, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have access to Mediabase or Allaccess quick-cut info? If not, then no. Last I know, BTINH's totals were "65 46 BEYONCE Best Thing I Never Had 589 157 +432 6.745". — Legolas(talk2me)06:24, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
46 is its latest position, it still hasn't broken into top 40, 589 is its total spins, 157 is the spins increased (bullet) from last week, and 6.745 is its audience impression in millions. PS, Can you please not edit conflict? — Legolas(talk2me)06:29, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And JonathanLGardner has continued history of uploading images not conforming to WP:NFCC and continued vandalism and sockpuppetry. I would suggest you not to encourage him to post images in his flickr account, which will of course be non-free. — Legolas(talk2me)06:41, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
haha. thank you so much!! I would never of known what to do as it is the first time I have tried doing this. I'll have a look through the dates and nominate. :) calvin999 (talk) 11:59, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So are you saying that it could never be a GA because there simply isn't enough info to make it worthy? (Also, there is nothing to really say with regard to performance descriptions. It's just Mariah and a mic, nothing else). calvin999 (talk) 16:17, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I never said that, I said at present its a long stretch for it to be a GA, without any song info, background, composition etc. May be later when Carey talks about it more. As for the live performances, there are more aspects to it like the reception of the performance, the mood in which she sang it, the vocals, whether the composition varied from venue to venue etc. — Legolas(talk2me)16:38, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh okay, that's how it read. I could talk about those things but there won't be any sources to back it up. She sang the song in the same style, key and mood every-time, although the one in Japan was lip-synced. calvin999 (talk) 16:43, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There you go, you can research on the lip-synch. Maybe you can find how critics reacted to it. Since Carey is a good vocalist she is bound to be criticized for it etc etc. Calvin, there's no limit to what you can find by proper research. Try google news archives, try magazines in your local libraries, try magazines online. You will be surprised probably at the amount of info the song might have. Of course I did a basic search and found nothing. — Legolas(talk2me)16:49, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not really, it's not as critisized as Britney for example, because it is vocally taxing for Mariah to always sing live outside of the US in addition to the US. It's only been since 2008 that she has started singing live outside the US again, since 2002/2003. But I'll have a look. Thanks. calvin999 (talk) 16:59, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there, not sure if I should be hassling you like this but I noticed you do a fair bit of GA reviews. I've just done a major overhaul of the article on Nadia Ali after a peer review. Based on similar articles in the Wikiproject Electronic Music I think it's ready for a GA status, so I've nominated it for that. If it's possible could you please have a look at it and suggest what other changes I need to make before it can get that rating? Thanks Hassan514 (talk) 20:56, 13 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the changes you've made but I do have an issue with removing the Queen of Clubs image. Yes, it's copyright but it does come under the fair use criteria because the image is not an album cover neither is it replaceable. I strongly think that it helps understanding what Ali did with the trilogy where she has portrayed herself as the "Queen of Clubs". The image helps in understanding how she used the playing card and has taken on that identity. Hassan514 (talk) 13:16, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to bother you about this type of thing again but...
Hey there ! I saw you left me message about putting too much non-useful sources or about putting website made by fan or personal blogs. I'm not trying to attract anyone into a fansite and I'll do my best to provide neutral/official links bext time, only doing this to help :)
