Odd redirect
You redirected a talk page to the associated article, which is not generally done. Unless you have a good reason for this, i will remove the redirect. If a != vote was placed by mistake on the talk page instead of the AFD itself, that misplaced != vote could be moved to the AFD, couldn't it, with an explanatory edit comment? Edison (talk) 01:23, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- I only mention it because I was at the AFD and saw that the talk page was non-blank, so I clicked on oit to see if someone was arguing some point of order or whatever, and found myself back at the AFD. It took a couple of minutes to figure out what had happened. The only question is to blank it, delete it, or just undo the redirect. Edison (talk) 01:44, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- I removed the redirect and just left the blanked talk page, so any curious reader can verify that the one editor actually left a != vote there which someone copied to the main AFD. I agree that we should be careful about making permanent encyclopedia articles out of every lurid crime story, but this one rises a bit above average. Let's check back in a year or 2 and see then if it needs deleting. the better approach would be to create articles out of news stories only after years have passed, and then keep the ones with more than a splash of coverage, i.e. ones which led to new laws, or which became notable books or movies, ones which became permanent memes (like Typhoid Mary) or ones which every literate and informed person in a country is likely to have heard of. Sadly, we still have Balloon boy hoax 4 years later! Edison (talk) 01:56, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
AFD Kyle McMahon
Hey Taylor - You had mentioned you found no sources for singer Kyle McMahon A cursory Google search (logged out of Google) shows the #1, #2, #4, #6, #9 results are all for the subject. National press includes: Washington Post, NY Times, MTV, etc. Subject is currently getting airplay on MTV, has had 2 national / international releases, one through the 2nd largest record label in the world, and has appeared on 4 Oprah shows in the last 3 months. I would seriously argue that alone is enough for inclusion on Wiki. FeerTheDeer FeerTheDeer (talk) 15:45, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
AFD Kyle McMahon Follow up
Hey Taylor - I hope you don't think I'm personally attacking you. I do understand what you mean now about not getting your point regarding Other Stuff Exists. In any event, I did add a bunch of links to the Talk page, let me know if you need anything else. And I know you're just trying to keep the site great, as am I! Talk soon. Good Article RfC
Hi, I think you have mis-understood the proposal you commented on - GA status is not required, it would be optional so those who create new articles will not be disadvantaged :) --Gilderien Chat|List of good deeds 02:54, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
- Ah ok, thank you. The idea for proposing GA was that it would encourage improvement and expansion of more important topics, like Paris or Sea (both GAs this year) that wouldn't be able to be expanded 5 times.--Gilderien Talk|List of good deeds 03:03, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Wendy Beckett - Playwright speedy deletion
Hello, I deleted this cause the creator blanked and because there are copyright issues-- it needs a total rewrite. And therein lies the rub. Someone took the trouble to write about her. Her curriculum vitae clearly shows her to have significance, if not notability. Dlohcierekim 01:43, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

- I think a redirect to the director is fine for now as I aded sourced information to that article. We can always undelete if this thing begins filming. Schmidt, Michael Q. 07:39, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
