RFAR:Manning naming dispute - Formally added as party

The drafting arbitrators have requested that you be formally added as a party to the Manning naming dispute case. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Manning naming dispute/Evidence. You can also contribute to the case workshop subpage, Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Manning naming dispute/Workshop. For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration.

For the Arbitration Committee,

Hello my good sir, all the problems you had with the article You Have 0 Friends have been fixed and hopefully will get into a good article. Thanks!

Hey Taylor, I noticed you use Reflinks quite a bit. Something you might want to try is using this link rather then the current one (the one I used to use). The link I just provided fully expands the citations rather than having the short description and <--bot generated title--> thing. It does make small mistakes when it comes to authors sometimes, but those can always be fixed. I hope you find that version of Reflinks much more helpful! STATic message me! 23:44, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

CN question

What exactly do you want citation on on List of disability-related terms with negative connotations? EvergreenFir (talk) 02:21, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Which claims would you like verified? That the terms are considered offensive or the meaning of the terms? EvergreenFir (talk) 18:27, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
Okay. I'll see if I can find citations for you. Just wasn't sure what you were looking for. EvergreenFir (talk) 18:31, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Yes, the topic of the planned film is getting and will likely continue to get lots of coverage, but when considering planned films we look to the applicable guideline and consider whether or not that coverage gives us anything solid about the film itself... casting, production, plot, etc. To be fair to our readers, I think a temporary redirect to either J.K. Rowling or the article on the 2001 book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" by that author (and where this adaptation IS already written about), is a valid consideration. The arguments about how the film topic might become supremely notable have a bit of merit, but I think it logical that we send readers for now to where it makes sense under policy, guideline and essay to keep readers informed. If a redirect arrived at through AFD discussion is reverted, the page can be protected to prevent untimely recreation. What'cha think? Schmidt, Michael Q. 02:33, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi Taylor

In the afd of Michel Von Tell you voted delet without a real argumet? why? You just said - its not WP:NACTOR but i showed their it is? WP - BIO says
1 .Has been featured multiple times in notable mainstream media. MMnews (alexa rank 500 of germany), Russia today, paraguay television and some more. see in article.

2 Has had significant roles in multiple films, shows, or other productions. Films, audio books, shows, books, interviews, articles, big blogs etc see in article (witch was/is still under construction).

3 Has a large fan base.

It of course has! you see about 1 million views on YT. His politic dokumentation alone got about 100 000 views. and this is quite a lot if you keep in mind it is a documentary about geopolitics!! also it is SWITZERLAND - less people then NYC! and this 7 million people their got 4 diffent languages! finaly you see he had very much highly notable guests. and i also showed their the YT channel of the 2 biggest TV stations of the country. www.youtube.com/user/sfr/videos this the offical channel of the 2 biggest tv stations of switzerland SF1 SF2 Schweizer Fernsehen.

have a look at how many views they got and compare please!

and you also know - a single one of this 3 points would be good enough.

are this not quite many good arguments to keep this article? special if you keep in mind how small switzerland is, this article is just under construction? i mean hey. u know as good as me. 30% of Wikipedia got much less sources then this. would be nice if you could think about your voteing or let me know what exactly yor argument is.

but with 1 thing you are right. the afd is a mess :) thats why the person witch made the afd is a one edit account witch is personaly motivated and seams to dont like this journalist ideologically. thx for your attention and would be nice to get an objective feedback and vote. Non-free rationale for File:Ford Beebe.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ford Beebe.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Blurred Lines 00:58, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

  6. David Gerard (talk · contribs) is admonished for acting in a manner incompatible with the community's expectations of administrators (see #David Gerard's use of tools).
  7. David Gerard (talk · contribs) is indefinitely prohibited from using his administrator permissions (i) on pages relating to transgender people or issues and (ii) in situations involving such pages. This restriction may be first appealed after six months have elapsed, and every six months thereafter.
  8. The standard discretionary sanctions adopted in Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Sexology for (among other things) "all articles dealing with transgender issues" remain in force. For the avoidance of doubt, these discretionary sanctions apply to any dispute regarding the proper article title, pronoun usage, or other manner of referring to any individual known to be or self-identifying as transgender, including but not limited to Chelsea/Bradley Manning. Any sanctions imposed should be logged at the Sexology case, not this one.
  9. All editors, especially those whose behavior was subject to a finding in this case, are reminded to maintain decorum and civility when engaged in discussions on Wikipedia, and to avoid commentary that demeans any other person, intentionally or not.

It's a shame that you can't get around to it, because you know who HAS "been getting around to it" As a widely respected, by even the late Roger Ebert, film critic? Violet LeVoit. For some reason you have decided to nominate her article for deletion. Hundreds of reviews written for numerous publications, to include her years being the film critic at WYPR in Baltimore. Yes, she has also been an on-air personality as well. She's been busting her tail for a long time. I am asking you to rescind your deletion request.

Taylor Trescott, just so you know, even if the article being nominated for DYK is moved, the DYK nomination template should not be moved, because it breaks a number of things. When an article is moved, the template stays right where it is, but its DYKnompage and DYKmake templates (and DYKnom, if any) are adjusted accordingly. If you're not sure how to make those adjustments, someone will be happy to assist. Sounds like a plan. And it's nice to see more work being done on silent films. Gerald Lesser GA

Hi Taylor, would you mind putting off reviewing this article for GA? See, I'm entering the Wikicup again next year, and I was counting on the long queue. I figured that I'd nominate it now, so that when someone got around to it, I'd be able to submit it for points. Strategy, right? I mean, dude, there are articles that have been languishing there since July! Go review one of those, or at least review one that's been in the queue longer than under a day. ;) I'm being a little serious; it seems a little unfair to me that an article I submit is there for such a short time, when others have had to wait much much longer. Unless you have a reason for reviewing it now, just let me know and we can talk. Otherwise, I can withdraw the nomination if you like. Thanks for understanding.
