Opinion on choice of photos in Japanese train articles

Hi. Sorry to bother you, but I know you have been involved in editing some Japanese train-related articles in the past, so I wonder if I can ask for your opinion on the choice of images being added to a number of Japanese train articles by an uncommunicative Japanese editor (銚電神, already blocked on Japanese Wikipedia). In particular, I wonder if you can have a look at the E233 series article when you have time. I have added a comment on the article's Talk page, but the editor has replaced a lot of what I consider good-quality images from Commons with his own poor-quality photos, mostly taken from station platforms. One image replaced (File:E233kei 5000bandai.JPG) was actually chosen recently as a "Quality Image" on Commons, so I don't think it should be replaced. Talk:E257 series is another case where the same thing occurred. I've already reverted him once, but he simply reverts again without comment, and I don't want to get dragged into an edit war, so maybe you can have a look, and decide whether the best images are currently being used in these articles. Thanks for your time. --DAJF (talk) 13:45, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@DAJF: It's no problem. I'll look at the issue. Epicgenius (talk) 13:52, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not really new here, just wanted to experience editing as an IP. 174.101.3.196 (talk) 04:30, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@174.101.3.196: No problem. May I ask which account you use? It seems like you are pretty experienced in editing Wikipedia. Epicgenius (talk) 12:31, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 34 (number), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 34th Street (New York City Subway) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi :) Reversion of an edit

Hi Epicgenius! I see you used STiki to revert a DOB edit I made on Alice Evans' page; however, there are reliable sources - in this case, People Magazine - who have other reliable sources (particularly, the DMV, a government agency) that have confirmed that she was born in 1968, not 1971. Here is a mention of this by People Magazine, as an editor's note in the comments section of this linked article: "Editor’s note: Per the DMV – one of the agencies we verify ages with – she was born Aug. 2, 1968. If IMDB would like to say otherwise, that’s fine, but we can only use officially verified ages." I haven't reverted the reversion (lol) but am waiting for your reply first. There's a discussion about this on the Talk page for Evans, too. What do you think? Have a good day! :) YeHighlander (talk) 22:03, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I'll look at it. Epicgenius (talk) 15:28, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We need your help testing latest huggle

Hello,

I am sending you this message because you listed yourself on meta:Huggle/Members as a beta tester. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. You can download it packaged for your operating system (see Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta) or you can of course build it yourself, see https://github.com/huggle/huggle3-qt-lx for that. Don't forget to use always latest version, there is no auto-update message for beta versions!

Should you find any issue, please report it to wikimedia bugzilla, that is a central place for huggle bugs, where we look at them. That is i mportant, if you find a bug and won't report it, we can't fix it. Thank you for your work on this, if you have any questions, please send me a message on my talk page, I won't be looking for responses here. Thanks, Petrb (talk) 15:20, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Greater Albania

The edits on Greater Albania were based on the article. As the maps and the references shows in Greece there is all the Epirus not only Chameria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.107.208.205 (talk) 16:16, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@unlogged editor, your edits need a decent citation. The rest of the article doesn't support your view.Alexikoua (talk) 16:44, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexikoua, please just look at the maps, because I was confused too at first. It is obvious that the territories "claimed" are not Chameria per see, but the total of Epirus. Isn't that right?Balkanian`s word (talk)
Which maps? You still need to provide a decent source. Plz avoid using wikipedia itself as a source, your arguments will appear too weak.Alexikoua (talk) 18:21, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Moon is made of cheese! 3170 scholar articles that speak about the four Vilayets, one of those is Vilayet of Yanina, that make up the concept of Greater Albania. But of course to you there is a need to prove that Moon is not made of cheese! https://www.google.com/search?q=greater+albania&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#q=greater+albania+four+vilayets&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=bks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.107.208.205 (talk) 18:49, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@95.107.208.205: Please avoid using Google Search directly as a source. Epicgenius (talk) 19:37, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I am not using google as a source, I am using it to prove that The Moon is made of green cheese. There are 20 maps in that page, a number of references, that all show that CHameria is just a PART of the Greater Albania's claims in Greece. If you just bother to read WP page or bother to search in google, than it shows quite easily that you are just edit waring for funBalkanian`s word (talk)
@Balkanian`s word: BTW, I am uninvolved in this. Epicgenius (talk) 14:35, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Would you be so kind to take part in the discussion in Talk:Albania about an obviously strange dispute regarding census data inclusion in the infobox?95.107.208.205 (talk) 19:52, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SAS

You see, the thing about the Q having two branches, 50% increase in N service and/or the restoration of the W has been a long-running debate at NYCT Forums and many other transit-related sites. It has been understood that the BMT Astoria Line needs two additional services (12 trains per hour and/or 15 trains per hour). It has also been understood that the supplemental W saves cars and money, as it is basically a shorten N, just like how the supplemental C is basically a shorten A.

If the MTA decides to split the Q by having two branches like the A, that would result in a slight service cut on the Astoria Line as well as only 15-20 minute headways for upper SAS. If the N were increased from 6 trains per hour to 12 trains per hour, that would result in a waste of money. Remember, residential neighborhoods are outer areas and central business districts are populated areas. Any line heading towards the CBDs in the morning or coming from the CBDs in the afternoon and evening will be busier in that direction than the other.

As long as an additional service from Astoria terminates in Lower Manhattan or runs to a different Brooklyn branch (whether its Sea Beach or Brighton), then it is certainly clearer if it carries a different letter and saves cars and money while keeping the headways for Astoria, Broadway, Sea Beach and local Brighton the same as they are now. This is just a heads-up. All in all, nobody at this time (myself included) is right until the MTA makes its final decision. JoesphBarbaro (talk) 12:14, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know if the W was going to go back in service or not, so I added the future stations as a branch. It's very unlikely that another service besides the Q is going to serve the SAS.
BTW, your point about the C and W being supplementary services is a bit off. The C and the A were originally two different services, with the C going to Bedford Park Blvd and the A going to Inwood before the late 1990s. It's just like how the W used to go on the West End Line while the N used to go on the Sea Beach Line before 2004. Epicgenius (talk) 13:50, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm only referring to their current service patterns, not the past/origins. So in other words, yes, the 3, 5, B, C, M and R are supplemental part-time services in their current service patterns, including the former V and W. Four of which have their own basics. JoesphBarbaro (talk) 15:05, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you in that sense (the six services, combined — the 3, 5, B, C, M and R — only have eighteen "unique" stations not served by any other service in the system). But then again, the 2 and E can also be considered supplemental services despite the fact that they run full-time; these two services only serve one "unique" station each (not counting WTC on the E).
And please indent your comments with colons for clarity, or use {{outdent}} if you have to. Epicgenius (talk) 13:44, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Badnera railway station

Hi there,

I had noticed that you had reverted an edit at Badnera railway station which is quite similar to what i had done earlier in the day. Is it possible to check if 106.79.153.237 & Prasanna Gajanan Dudhe are the same individual & do you think page protection is in order or is it too early for it? Thanks. Superfast1111 (talk) 14:52, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, not yet. There is only two reverts so far, not enough to warrant protection. Usually, protection only comes after four reverts. Epicgenius (talk) 15:10, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
