The 2014 New York Giants season is the franchise's 90th season in the National Football League and the fifth playing their home games at MetLife Stadium . The team will enter the season looking to improve on their 7-9 finish from 2013 and return to the playoffs for the first time since winning Super Bowl XLVI .
Tom Coughlin returns for his eleventh season as the team's head coach. He enters the season with ninety wins, second all time in team history, and will have an opportunity to become only the second coach in team history to record one hundred victories with the Giants depending on the performance of his team.
To commemorate their ninetieth anniversary the Giants will wear a special patch on their jerseys. In addition, the team will wear white pants instead of gray for two home games versus the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 on Monday Night Football and two weeks later against the San Francisco 49ers .[ 1]
