Jane Roberts

Spirit medium Jane Roberts has a cameo role as the grandmother, and was likely cast as a nod to the similarity between the story's plot and her ideas about dreams.

Agreed, according to IMDB this Jane Roberts also appeared in:

With Intent to Kill (1984) (TV) .... Elderly Lady ... aka Urge to Kill Miss All-American Beauty (1982) (TV) .... Dottie Blaine The Lathe of Heaven (1980) (TV) .... Grandmother

Draftsman?

correct, i just watched it, no mention of his job beyond his working in an office. I have rewritten the summary, but unfortunately i could not make out the Aliens philosophising, (dubbed copy) so i have left it out. Why is oneirologist in quotes?

Why is "oneirologist" in quotes in the Plot section? It appears to be a legitimately recognized word.
