Recent changes

  • Now you can include Commons video films with subtitles in your wiki language. Before you could see translated videos on file page at Commons only. [1]
  • Search now has an updated preference tab to configure the search completion suggester. [2]
  • The visual editor is now available on all wikis using only one language script. [3]

Changes this week

  • The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from November 1st. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from November 2nd. It will be on all wikis from November 3rd (calendar).
  • Now you can use autocomplete for page names in "Preview page with this template (what's this?)" field when editing templates. [4]
  • Special:NewPages can now be filtered by page size. [5]

Future changes

  • New MediaWiki deployments will be now based on MediaWiki 1.29. [6]

Hi, thank you for your work on the encyclopedia. I noticed that after deleting TripHobo, links to that page from various other articles remained in place; I have removed them now.

Generally speaking I do not remove backlinks by default, as most AfDs are not "this isn't going to be suitable for an article, ever" closes and I don't have a crystal ball to predict otherwise. I don't read that particular AfD that way; nor the guidance at WP:AFDAI. The links in this case were bare entries under the "See also" heading of articles for other companies in the same sector, and such links are not desirable as redlinks. Deletion of Article about Lancom Systems GmbH

Hi Jo-jo. I am a German newbee in the US wikipedia. The article about Lancom Systems GmbH was deleted after a discussion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Lancom_Systems_GmbH. Things did change during the last few weeks. There are many articles on Lancom not only in German press, abut also in international media. Here ist just a short list:

This is just a short list. Ralf Koenzen, the CEO of Lancom Systems GmbH is writing a regular clumn in the German business weekly Wirtschaftswoche. Lancom Systems is number 2 among the manufacturers of b2b-network hardware in Germany (after Cisco). Greetings, @Mikausch:. Many of these sources seem like offhand mentions which don't support notability. Of these which don't, I don't know whether they are reliable and independent. My name is Carissa. I was updating the Wikipedia info For Simone Ahuja. She is an author of Jugaad and her links were posted from HBR.org.

The entire description of Simone Ahuja has been deleted.

If you can help me restore her page, I'd appreciate this so much. Even if you put it back up with the original posts prior to Sept 2016.

I am not sure why she was deleted off Wikipedia.

(talk page watcher) @Buckrun10: This dicussion here led to the deletion of the article you ask about- the administator was carrying out the wishes of the community. The discussion indicates it was deleted as being effectively an advertisment: please note that Wikipedia is not a place to promote people. Greetings, @OlgaRay:. Seems like Mr. Pustelnik hasn't had enough written about them for us to properly source an article from. Dr Archika Didi's page deletion

Hi Jo-Jo

Just found out that Dr Archika Didi page was deleted. Although I tried to put all reliable sources available, I am not sure why the page got deleted? Appreciate if I can get answers for the reason of deletion the page.
