Downhill (film) (2014) listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Downhill (film) (2014). Since you had some involvement with the Downhill (film) (2014) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. — Gorthian (talk) 05:30, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You reverted an IP here. The IP's edit was correct. It's Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 and Wreck-It Ralph 2 redirects to the former. You also left a level 3 warning on the IP's talk page here. Please don't start at an elevated level for such a minor edit even if the IP had entered the wrong information. It can make it difficult to request a block. For instance, Huggle would automatically escalate to a warning 4 then want to report. If there is little to report, then an admin wouldn't block. A Huggle user might go through an number of edits and not find any reason to report a block which can be a time sink. So, unless it is a major issue, please start with a warning 1? Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 07:22, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jim, I saw multiple level 2 warnings, and so my inclination was to up to the next level. My apologies, I did not do my due diligence on this revert. BOVINEBOY2008 11:28, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Raid

Hello friend, I reverted your edit on The Raid (2011 film) as per WP:FILMRELEASE: "Release dates should therefore be restricted to the film's earliest release, whether it was at a film festival, a world premiere, or a public release, and the release date(s) in the country or countries that produced the film"

Released dates should state both the earliest date (i.e., festival), and the date it was released in the countr(ies) that produced it.

Also restored language hyperlink, since "languages are not automatically linked. This has been done intentionally because according to WP:OVERLINK, most major languages should generally not be linked. Please do not override this by using a piped link such as English."

Indonesian is not a major language, and it is one of the many languages of Indonesia.

Also, restored your removal of the distributors as per WP:FILMDIST: "Using the same rationale as the release date, the distributor(s) should be restricted to the country or countries that produced the film and (if different) the country where the film is first released."

Which would include Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6, at least according to the film credits where their name appears in both in the beginning and end of the film, and who contributed to the international filmscore (i.e., Mike Shinoda, Joseph Trapanese). –DA1 (talk) 16:56, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hey! Thanks for letting me know. No where in the article is it mentioned that this is a US co-production. Unless this is mentioned and verified, the US release date and distributor is secondary information that does NOT need to be in the infobox. The information may be worked into the rest of the article. BOVINEBOY2008 22:40, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Release date or date finished production?

I see you reverted my edit on List of American films of 2016 for the movie Characterz and I don't quite understand why. Comments said "Reverted good faith edits by Kvn8907 (talk): That is a 2015 film." The movie was in production in 2015 but released July 12, 2016, as per http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5046632/ So, why did you revert my edit? Kevin (talk) 18:33, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops! Looks like I read too quickly. I thought it said in the lead sentence that it was a 2015 film! My apologies. BOVINEBOY2008 11:03, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Saab Bahadar page deleation

What the hell you think about your self if the user is generating some movie update what you think that synopsis cast & crew will submit different on wiki and other website why you delete the Saab Bahadar page just because the content which is synopsis of the movie is same on other website like bookmyshow just tell me how some one can post different synopsis on wikipedia? first use your brain.. check the content and then delete some one work i spend my half hour to make that post get all details for that movie and you just delete it... — Preceding unsigned comment added by IamKaran (talkcontribs) 17:58, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Haunted State: Theatre Of Shadows has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreleased film with no sign of notability. Googling title finds just self-published promo material and databases.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nat Gertler (talk) 16:10, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Haunted State: Theatre Of Shadows for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Haunted State: Theatre Of Shadows is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Haunted State: Theatre Of Shadows until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Nat Gertler (talk) 00:10, 1 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the message. Category:2010s films is a parent category that no individual film article should be using, it should get a specific year once one is available. All future film articles use Category:Upcoming films, a non-diffusing parent category; despite it going to a subcategory, it should stay in the parent category as well. Current casts

Please stop removing "current cast" lists from the pages of musicals with the rationale that "we don't list current casts" when you are the only one removing them.CaptainPedge | Talk 23:10, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but that's not how we operate here! Please see WP:WPMT/AS. BOVINEBOY2008 11:02, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There is nothing in that page that says "one user may unilaterally delete current cast lists from a multitude of articles and then lie about the reasons" - That certainly is NOT how "we" operate. In fact, the page you linked to specifically says "Please do not delete such lists". Yes the linked page says do not include replacement casts, but it says nothing about the currently performing cast. Furthermore, you seem to have taken it upon yourself to police a number of articles and then outright lie about the reasons for your edits in summaries. Examples of such lies are you saying in one of youe edit summaries on the Les Mis page "No other musical keeps a list of current cast members" when you know this is untrue and implying that there is a MOS for theatre pages - no such MOS exists, only an unofficial wikiproject page, the one you linked here, which is not an official wikipedia MOS CaptainPedge | Talk 15:20, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It:Chapter Two

Hi Bovineboy2008 I want to why you have removed all the information that I added on to It Chapter Two (2019 film) you could have moved it to the new space unlike deleting everything that was a start for the upcoming movie. Am confused as to why you got raid everything. Chabota Kanguya (talk) 04:47, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it has not yet begun filming, and we do not keep articles for films that have not yet gone into main production, per WP:NFF. Other than the cast list and short lead paragraph, the information was all already contained at It_(2017_film)#Sequel. For now, it would be best to keep information there until time warrants a stand-alone article. BOVINEBOY2008 17:13, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Inquiry from The Washington Post

Hi there,

My name is Sonia, and I write for The Washington Post. I'm interested in pursuing a story about Wikipedia users who update/edit pages detailing specific histories of the Academy Awards (e.g. "List of black Academy Award winners and nominees," "90th Academy Awards"). I saw that you're a coordinator of WikiProject Film and was wondering if you might have contributed to efforts to edit similar pages, perhaps during the ceremony (or in the past). People who are simply curious often end up on these informative pages, and I believe our readers might find it interesting to hear the story behind the edits — are there some Wikipedia users who wait for the awards to be announced and then update the pages immediately? How do you keep track of all the history? And so on.

If you'd be interested in chatting with me, please let me know as soon as possible. I can be reached at sonia.rao@washpost.com.

Thanks, Sonia

Hatnote

Hi, I believe this hatnote is unnecessary, since the film itself is based on actor Mohanlal. So it is clearly distinguishable for the readers. I had said that in my previous edit, which I assume you haven't seen. Thanks.--Let There Be Sunshine 12:05, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Since it's based on the actor, people searching for the film will be well aware of that. So there's no confusion. In other case, searching "Mohanlal" will also shows "Mohanlal (film)" in the search box, so there's no confusion in there too. I think presently the hatnote only serves a promotional purpose - to inform readers visiting the page that there is also a film based on him, encouraging them to visit that too. --Let There Be Sunshine 12:19, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • As someone who has no idea who the actor is, I strongly disagree. Not everyone uses the search bar included in Wikipedia, and we can't expect everyone to understand the inner-machinations of the naming/disambiguation conventions we follow. The hatnote is necessary purely for navigation purposes. BOVINEBOY2008 12:23, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • For someone who has no idea about the actor, there's no need to search for him as well and for those who accidentally end up in the page has no need to visit the film's page as well. Currently it only serves a promotional purpose. And dab (film) is not that uncomprehending requiring an intelligence higher than common sense.--Let There Be Sunshine 12:52, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry (2018 film)

Hi! Well I believe changing release date to premier date is very unnecessary if you refer to its IMDB and official sites linked in IMDB its clearly mentioned in 2018 film, had shown to jury in private screening not premiered or not screened publicly! As I'm Marathi I kept myself updated on this scenario its humble request dont change it and spread wrong information.
