Coordinator election
I started a discussion about this month's election that I'd like to get started in the next few days. Please comment there so the nomination period can be initiated quickly. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 04:15, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
Fish Hooks
As I indicated in my edit summary,[1] the changes I made were in accordance with {{Infobox television}}. The "|num_episodes=
" field of the template is for the number of episodes produced, not for the number aired. The instructions for this field state, "The number of episodes produced (a reliable source is required if greater than the number aired)". A citation is provided so it's entirely appropriate to include the total episode count. A lot of airing programs don't include total episode counts because they're not available, so we have to rely on the the total episodes aired. --AussieLegend (talk) 10:23, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for the explanation. Would it be acceptable to indicate that it is the total produced, not aired? Just for clarity's sake. BOVINEBOY2008 10:25, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- The normal procedure would be to include something like "21 (0 aired)" although, this is redundant. --AussieLegend (talk) 10:28, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- At this point yes, maybe when the first episode airs do that? BOVINEBOY2008 10:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Nationality of film in lead section
Hi there. Thank you for your edits on the Ijé film article and for the corrections in the category. Please take a look at this guideline to see why the nationality of the film will be included into the lead section of the article. Thank you. Amsaim (talk) 10:42, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Little doubt regarding italics
I saw your edits at Khatta Meetha (2010 film). Please correct me if I am wrong, but according to WP:ITALICS, the names of Musicals and Musical albums should be written in italics. -- - M4nag3r(-)rC[Reply] 13:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- The titles of songs are always in quotes. A single musical number would be in quotes while a musical, which contains musical numbers, would be in itals. BOVINEBOY2008 13:34, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for the info. - M4nag3r(-)rC[Reply] 14:07, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

2010 Machete film
Hi. Was the Machete film really shown August 18, 2010 (2010-08-18) in Kazakhstan? Curious. Best. --- Wikiklrsc (talk) 17:29, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- According to imdb. BOVINEBOY2008 18:00, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, but is IMDB reliable in these cases? Is it not "user-contributed"? I can't seem to corroborate Kazakhstan as the world opening -- from any other source I've looked at except those derivative from Wikipedia. It was filmed in Texas. They had their wrap there. Why Kazakhstan? -- Wikiklrsc (talk) 18:08, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've always thought the release dates section was reliable through imdb, although if you can't corroborate it, than please, change it back. BOVINEBOY2008 18:10, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've thought so too. I just can't find any independent mention of an August 2010 showing of the movie in Kazakhstan. Why there? It headlined and opened the Venice International Film Festival on September 1 2010 with a special midnight showing (see [2]). Why wasn't that the kick-off? Admittedly, we saw a reviewer's pre-screening in Boston on Wednesday, September 1. I'll try to track this down further. Otherwise, I think we should, pro tempore, take it out if I can't find anything and no one else can. Sadly. Thanks. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 18:19, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Owl City fansite
Hey there. I noticed reverting of my edit to add the Owl City University to the Owl City page.
I wanted to approach you to hopefully come to an agreement. I have put more details and a reference for your approval. Thanks for your time. Dwigs (talk) 01:25, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Your edits in Malayalam movies
I see that you are making a few template edits in a lot of Malayalam films lately and you are removing the linking of the language in the infobox section. If you remove the link, the article gets automatically added to the Category:Malayalam-language films which is not preferred.
Also, you have been removing the template {{Malayalamcinema}} from the articles. Can you please keep this template in the article itself in your future edits? --Sreejith K (talk) 07:31, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, no. Per WP:FILMCAT, that category should be on every single Malayalam film article. And navigation boxes should only be included in articles to which they are linked. BOVINEBOY2008 07:35, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Malayalam films has already been categorized as Category:1980s Malayalam-language films, Category:1990s Malayalam-language films, Category:2000s Malayalam-language films, Category:2010s Malayalam-language films, etc. Adding the 1000+ movies to the parent Category:Malayalam-language films is not going to do any good. But if the policy says so, I will oblige. --Sreejith K (talk) 09:03, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Also, can you please show me the wikipedia policy which says that navigation boxes should only be included in articles to which they are linked? I saw the page Wikipedia:A navbox on every page and it says the opposite. --Sreejith K (talk) 09:12, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
The American spam/marketing
If the content is posted by a deviantArt employee who works in their marketing department (this information is in his profile), doesn't that make the content spam? I would guess he is paid to post this info. Some guy (talk) 03:26, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't realize that he was a deviantArt guy. I think this would fall more under WP:COI and I would let him know that and see if he reverts himself. BOVINEBOY2008 03:29, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well that was why I said it was posted by a dA employee in the edit summary :P . I already gave him a COI notice. Thanks. Some guy (talk) 03:31, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Question
Bovineboy, how much input do you have regarding templates and manuals of style, etc at the Films Wikiproject? Bradley0110 (talk) 11:14, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Just as much as anyone, why? BOVINEBOY2008 14:50, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- I ask you of all people simply because of this edit you made; how attached is the film project the TV film infobox? In my opinion, it's a horribly designed halfway house between the film ibox and the TV ibox. Its (limited additional) functions could easily be transferred to one of those two and it be deleted. I ask because I'm not a member of either the film or TV project and just wanted to gauge opinion before raising the point there. Bradley0110 (talk) 15:20, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- The template was actually supposed to be merged to {{Infobox film}}, along with several other variants of that infobox, but nothing ever happens. Here is the discussion. It really is flawed and you have my blessing to get it either changed or merged to another infobox (not that you need it). BOVINEBOY2008 15:27, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, dear! If the project can't come to a decision then there's no way an "outsider" can influence it! Bradley0110 (talk) 15:41, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- I think if you just bring it up, it may get done. From what I remembered most agreed with the merge, it just never got done. BOVINEBOY2008 15:43, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, right, thanks. I'll have a read for any other discussions about it then begin another merge proposal. Bradley0110 (talk) 15:58, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Request reason:
I may have reverted the edits twice, but I stopped, posed a discussion point on the other editors talk page. I was trying to follow WP:BRD, albeit I double-dipped on the R, but was only met a lack of cooperation and a block. BOVINEBOY2008 20:02, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Decline reason:
In this case it is not so much the number of reverts as it is the number of pages over which you were reverting. This disagreement affected 13 articles by my count. This is not what rollback is for.--Chaser (talk) 20:46, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. - Thank you, much appreciated to actually hear from you. BOVINEBOY2008 20:41, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
- OK, a lull at work (systems offline) gives me some time to kill. My rationale/reasoning for the templates:
- The film country templates in the infobox no longer pipe to the cinema of articles, so nobody is going to stumble upon them via that route.
- Some people believe we shouldn't pipe the cinema of bit into the intro - IE Dogtooth is a Greek film should simply be Dogtooth is a Greek film. I see you WP:EGG and raise you WP:IAR.
- Therefore, there is nothing actually in the article linking to the bigger picture of the individual cinema of articles.
Why link at all - to increase and aid navigation. Some of those templates are incredibly detailed and go into more detail than just the generic overview of Greek (or French, or Spanish, or Brazilian) cinema. Links to films by decade/year, directors, producers, etc, etc. Hopefully people will browse through, see something like French films of 1958 and work on existing articles, or complete red links. I bet half the people who visit a specific film article aren't even aware of the cinema of article.
Some editors have replaced the template with the "see also" section linking directly to the cinema of article. This is even more pointless in my eye, as it takes up more space and doesn't have as many links! Her Brother is a good example of collapsing many templates too, to avoid clutter.
Hope you find this useful. Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 10:23, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- See, I don't know if I agree with this. Why is {{CinemaoftheUS}} an exception? And doesn't that go against what WP:CLN explicitly states?
- (3) The subject of the template should be mentioned in every article.
- The cinema article isn't mentioned in every film article, and certainly not every film is mentioned in the film article (of course that is ridiculous to expect).
- (4) The articles should refer to each other, to a reasonable extent.
- Again, they don't refer to each other, other than maybe a brief mention (especially festival films that get forgotten about a week after they premiere, but somehow are considered notable).
- And not every film needs to be interlinked. Should we be linking to film and camera and soundtrack and cinema be linked in every article? No, certainly not. I find that you are just editing on what you like, not what actually benefits. Would you bring this up at the Project? I'd like to see where others stand on this issue. (and if you won't I will) BOVINEBOY2008 13:35, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've given a sound rational for the 2010 film category edit. Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 17:55, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- Weird, no other films do that, and how the Olympics isn't a film... BOVINEBOY2008 17:58, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi, when you change an article into a redirect to a disambig, you should clean up after yourself per WP:FIXDABLINKS. Otherwise other editors have to fix the mis-directed links you've created, which is what happened when you redirected Click (film) to the disambig but didn't clean up. --JaGatalk 11:12, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

re: Tdi7457 and Rio de Janiero God
You seem to have more experience with the Tdi7457 socking situation. Do you think it's worth an SPI amendment re Rio?

- I'd say go for it now... the current block is based on the editing of the current account. I wasn't aware of the existance of Tdi7457 until Rio hit it and you. If you feel there is anough evidence at this point, there really is no reason to wait. - J Greb (talk) 21:58, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Re: Spinc5, about Japan grosses
Spinc5 (talk) 14:03, 19 September 2010 (UTC) Well Japan is one of the largest markets in the world. I think since Wikipedia is an international encyclopedia it shouldn't focus just on English-speaking countries.
I do not know where to relocate the information about the "trivia" in "The American" .
Thanks for bringing to my attention the issue with the location of the paragraph about the incorrect muzzle velocity of the rifle in "The American" film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_American_%282010_film%29
Unfortunately I do not know where to relocate this information. Should I totally delete it or is it worth mentioning in another place in this article? I did NOT want to put this in the plot at the beginning, because I do not want to damage the reputation of the film which is good in many ways.
Please feel free to re-edit this or relocate in the article (without totally deleting if possible.)

Why are you removing Bollywood template from bottom of film pages. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Indian cinema task force#Bollywood film.
