Happy New Year, Justlettersandnumbers!

Send New Year cheer by adding {{subst:Happy New Year fireworks}} to user talk pages.

I didn't create the article. Anyways, would you please take it to AfD instead of removing it from mainspace? Peregrine Fisher (talk) 20:59, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Peregrine Fisher, you created the current version of the page with this edit; you don't show as the creator of the page because I've restored the previous history. It's already been to AfD twice; I believe that the WP:BURDEN is now on you to show that he is notable. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:23, 12 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

London College of Communication

Hi. Thanks for letting me know about the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. I was unaware of this rule, and have added the mandatory information onto my user page. Please accept my apologies. I hope it is clear I was changing factual information, as opposed to adding "marketing" material. In future I will suggest additions and amends in the talk page for London College of Communication. Jakemay89 (talk) 15:35, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Jakemay89, that'll be fine. Unfortunately the article has been plagued by inappropriate editing for many years, and I had to spend some time cleaning it up. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:51, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template:WikiProject Akwa Ibom

Hi, before deleting Template:WikiProject Akwa Ibom, did you check that it was no longer in use? According to this tool, it has 270 transclusions. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 21:44, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Redrose64! Well, I thought I had, but obviously not. I've restored it for now, now to see whether I made the same mistake elsewhere. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:55, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What's the plan for these pages? I believe as a geographic region, Category:Akwa Ibom State stubs is still a valid category. Frietjes (talk) 15:36, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Frietjes, I agree with that, and have restored Template:Akwaibom-stub. I don't see that either it or the category was specifically covered by the consensus at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Akwa Ibom. Thanks for bringing it up, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:48, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Østre Toten

You left me a question and I'm a newbie and couldn't figure out where to respond, so I'll try here. I added the "formerly Oppland" and reference on Jan 2, 2020 with mixed feelings. I deleted it earlier today with mixed feelings. It is definitely still true, but I just thought it was too much clutter and was too confusing to have and redundant (since the Innlandet link explains it) and so I deleted it. I'm glad you responded and I'll just leave it in. I'm still just 50/50 on whether it adds much to the article. Thanks again for your input.Redriv (talk) 02:54, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply, Redriv – and, yes, here is fine. I think either choice is good; my own tendency with places that have had their names changed to something that people may not recognise (Madras, for example) is to mention the former name also. But clutter is a thing too! Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:11, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why, it was linked from the {{talkheader}} template at Talk:Roald Dahl. The deletion is now causing {{talkheader}} to pretend as if there's just one archive. I was about to untag the page before you deleted it. Please restore. SD0001 (talk) 18:04, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Should be OK now, SD0001 – I've moved the archive back to the title the bot settings expect. No idea why it was redirected in 2016 ... If there's still a problem please let me know. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:17, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Nina Kiraly deleted

Hi, Just saw that you deleted Draft:Nina Kiraly because of copyright infringement of http://www.kiralyfoundation.com The thing is I have created kiralyfoundation.com, I am the daughter of Nina Kiraly and own all rights, trying to create an English page where her international collaborators and students can learn more about her work and legacy. A page in her name in Hungarian already exists but since she also published books by international artists as well as her own articles in English, it would be important to have this page. Her Hungarian page can be found here: https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kir%C3%A1ly_Nina Please, let me know how I can resubmit for consideration. Thank s a lot! (Annakiraly1 (talk) 04:31, 21 January 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Annakiraly1, please see this page. After you email OTRS you will (or should!) receive a reply with a long number in the subject field. If you give me that number (here), I'll see what can be done. Can I assume that you've already made some sort of appropriate disclosure of your conflict of interest? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:57, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

re-submit page for Jfaoc

Hi, my newly created page was deleted because of an "G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of https://thedagenhamyanks.com/bio", I am the owner of this page and the author of it's contents, I want to create a page that explains "The Dagenham Yanks", who they are and where the name derived from, can you or I resubmit or explain any changes I need to make make it acceptable for resubmission please.--Jfaoc (talk) 15:46, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jfaoc, please see this page. If you choose to email OTRS, you will (or should!) receive a reply with a long number in the subject field. If you give me that number (here), I'll see what can be done. You'll need to make an appropriate disclosure of your conflict of interest; if your connection to the topic is remunerated in any way, disclosure is obligatory. I received your email, and hope this reply is a sufficient answer. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:57, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Justlettersandnumbers, The ticket number is: 2020012110007164, I am not aware of any conflict of interest; with the topic and my connection to this topic is not renumerated in any way. --Jfaoc (talk) 16:55, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The issue above and below are seperate, I added this header to seperate them

Just to point that out, this is not at all "notification done with the intention of influencing the outcome of a discussion in a particular way". You've already said you didn't agree with the presence of the Italian pronunciation, and I'm not trying to make you change your mind, I told you. This is the last message I write here because I don't want to disturb you but this was a thing it was necessary to point out not to let you have a wrong idea about this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.64.160.76 (talk) 20:11, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have replied to your answer at the help desk.

Hi, thank you for the review. I'm sorry to contact you late. The text of the draft page has been deleted due to advice. Thank you.

I have replied to your answer at the help desk. review of submission by Castor KakuWakako I will add a little more detail here.

At the time of the first post, there was certainly copyright infringement. Quoted text. I thought it would be good to indicate the referring page, but it seems wrong. Currently, we have removed the quoted text.

However, the wiki has indicated in the Copyvios report that copyright infringement is still ongoing. If you look at the details of the point where copyright infringement is pointed out, almost all are Japanese proper nouns (work title, publisher name, author name).

Here is the list: (the genre of proper nouns)

  • Poetry (Category Name)
  • Zero ni naru karada (Content Title)
  • Tokuma Shoten, Tokyo, 2002 (Publisher Name)
  • Umi no youna otona ni naru (Content Title)
  • I Will Be a Grown-up Like the Sea (Content Title Translation)
  • co-authored with Shuntaro Tanikawa and Akira Sato, (About co-authored)
  • Froebel Kan Tokyo, 2008 (Publisher Name)
  • Hugtime translation from English originally written by Patrick McDonnel (Credit Notation)
  • translation from English originally written by (Credit Notation)
  • GT Music, Tokyo (Publisher name)
  • Wakako Kaku's official fan site (Music Label)
  • official website of Yah Chayka! (I, Seagull) (Content Title & Content Title Meaning)
  • a film Wakako Kaku co-directed with poet Shuntaro Tanikawa (Credit Notation)

What should we do about such copyright infringement?

Also, the text of the Draft: Wakako_Kaku page has been deleted, but it can be restored at any time. Castor KakuWakako (talk) @ 07:40:34, 23 January 2020(UTC)

Answer other reply.

1: You said " Was the content in fact translated from here? If so, you must provide attribution."[1]

Yes. Translated from this page. And we add shortage. That's right. Lack of respect for pre-translation articles. Specify attribution. Thank you for your advice.

2: Initially, I repeatedly published articles about copyright infringement. That's because I misunderstood that I was solving the problem myself. And in the next phase, to understand what the problem is. I posted a draft article with the purpose of knowing what is wrong, what to check, who to contact and how to contact it. That was also to confirm the aggregated alert box.

Your advice has greatly advanced my understanding. Thank you for your cooperation. I understand what information to check and what text to save. So I was able to delete the draft page text. However, I still feel that the behavior is incorrect. Encourage understanding. Castor KakuWakako (talk) @ 09:14:48, 23 January 2020(UTC)

You have deleted the never ending story on LittleGhostBoo

I know it violated the stated rule, but it did say it was to be kept for humorous reference and not to be deleted. That page has been here longer than your account. It was not okay to delete it; that page has been worked on for 12-13 years. RSVP Heroe Of Time (talk) 08:10, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) I have to agree with Heroe Of Time here. That was a bad U5 tagging and a bad deletion. U5 requires that the owner "has made few or no edits outside of user pages". Littleghostboo has made more than 600+ edits outside userspace. I suggest you revert your deletion because I really don't think we need to start a DRV here. Regards SoWhy 10:47, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: ENCI

Hello Justlettersandnumbers. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of ENCI, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: nl-wiki article indicates that subject might be significant, also has sources. Thank you. SoWhy 13:47, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Er, SoWhy, what nl.wp does is their business. This is the English-language Wikipedia, and the page here has no sources and no indication of significance. Are you sure you've read the criterion correctly? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:00, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Lack of sources is not a reason for deletion. Also, we are not robots, are we? A7 is meant to remove articles about unquestionably insignificant and unimportant subjects, not articles about notable companies that might currently be lacking in sources but could well be improved. And if another Wikipedia has sources that might well demonstrate notability, I see no reason to speedy delete a 15 year old(!) article without discussion. This is a company that has whole chapters of scientific literature dedicated to it [1], not some kid's garage band or YouTube channel, after all. If you can do an extensive BEFORE search and still believe it's not a notable company, feel free to nominate it for WP:AFD. Regards SoWhy 14:20, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(Driving by...) I don't know the standards for paid editing on nl.wiki, but the article looks to me like a puff piece on a company, and I've seen drafts rejected for less. Might be worth an AfD if notability doesn't rise to WP:NCOMPANY. Montanabw(talk) 00:31, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Updates

JLAN, I just noticed (thanks to a series of bad anon IP edits) that you have created a number of new horse breed articles that have not been added to the List of horse breeds. Given that you know what you have created from scratch, I'd appreciate it if either you could add them to the List article or at least somehow point me to them, perhaps a list on the talkpage of the list article that I can insert where they belong? Given that this is our only overview of all articles on wikipedia that are bluelinked, it is useful to keep it up to date. I added the breeds off of Template:Horse breeds of Belgium and Luxembourg and may have time to look at a couple others, but if you can help me out, I'd be grateful. Many thanks. Montanabw(talk) 00:26, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a few from the last year or so. I keep a list of pages I've created here, but I don't update it often (just done it, no chance I'd have remembered them otherwise!). Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:58, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

About polymathy in academia

Hi colleague,

I am the editor of the section "Polymathy in Academia". While I agree that a Master's Thesis may not be considered a reliable source (although it can be according to wikipedia's guidelines), that section has nothing to do with the thesis. I think that removing it is depriving readers from the state of the art research on the field. Although noble in intent, the deletion has the practical effect of downplaying serious academic work while highlighting non-academic sources and opinions.

After checking this: Wikipedia:Reliable_sources

one can easily confirm that the text clearly is not a new synthesis. Nor does it provide a conclusion "not explicitly stated by any of the sources". Just quickly check the sources, which are all published in peer-reviewed sources except for the last one, which is a Doctoral dissertation. The latter was only added due to the dearth of scholarly research and because it does offer a contribution to the field according to several leading scholars.

Wikipedia's guidelines on "new syntheses":

"Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources. Similarly, do not combine different parts of one source to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by the source. If one reliable source says A, and another reliable source says B, do not join A and B together to imply a conclusion C that is not mentioned by either of the sources. This would be improper editorial synthesis of published material to imply a new conclusion, which is original research performed by an editor here.[i] "A and B, therefore C" is acceptable only if a reliable source has published the same argument in relation to the topic of the article. If a single source says "A" in one context, and "B" in another, without connecting them, and does not provide an argument of "therefore C", then "therefore C" cannot be used in any article."

Hi. You appear to have deleted Draft:Zero Waste Week the day after it was restored at WP:REFUND (and subsequent to me making a keep-alive edit). Would you mind checking and if I'm correct, undeleting it? --kingboyk (talk) 01:22, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done that, Kingboyk – and you are right of course, your dummy edit preceded the tagging. Not sure if that was my mistake or a glitch in the script – I'm pretty sure I checked that the tag was green, and so did not examine the history. Draft of article about Steve Mahabir

Hi. Thanks for looking at the resubmitted draft article I wrote about Steve Mahabir. I have two question about why the submission was declined. First, your comment was that "a substantial part of the page is completely unsourced." Which section(s) are you referring to? Second, the whole "Career" section is empty. Did you do this or did I not resubmit it properly? Hollander1961 (talk) 19:38, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Hollander1961! So, you're talking about Draft:Steve Mahabir? No, it wasn't I who blanked the copyvio section, later removed it, or hid that part of the history from view, those three things were done by three other editors; you can see their names by looking at the revision history. You were told about the copyright problem on 10 December on your talk-page.
The material I was talking about when I said "unsourced" is everything that does not have a relevant citation (the little number in square brackets that connects to details of an independent reliable source); it seemed (and still seems) to me that that applies to a large part of what is in the page. Please note that stuff like this and this (two copies of the same promotional press-release on different websites) is neither independent nor reliable. If you have more questions I suggest you visit the Teahouse – I'll leave you an invitation in one moment. Good luck! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:18, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You've already had a Teahouse invitation, it seems. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:20, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Justlettersandnumbers:,

You can now re-nominate, without fear of reversion, Help:IPA/Saidi Arabic, at RfD as administrator El C has kindly page blocked (for one week) Sefarat90 from page editing that page. You can see the details of the block at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection#Help:IPA/Saidi Arabic. If the RfD is ultimately relisted, you may need to return to that page or approach El C and ask for the page block to be extended by a further one week.

Hope that helps and happy editing! :)

Cheers,

multiple issues on the article "Lydia Kakabadse"

Dear Wikipedia Editor I am the subject of the article "Lydia Kakabadse". I noticed from your comments last month that the article has multiple issues and I would be most grateful if you could perhaps show me how they may be improved/resolved. I look forward to hearing from you, Yours sincerely Lemdee (talk) 19:29, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Lemdee/Lydia! Unfortunately that page has had a number of problems, principally copyright violation, but also editing by at least one person (you!) with a conflict of interest; that seems to have been resolved by subsequent editing, so I've removed that tag. The remaining problems that have been identified, and so tagged, are that it (1) doesn't have enough independent reliable sources, and so (2) it is not clear that the subject is notable by the standards of Wikipedia (which are our own and do not necessarily precisely reflect real-world reception or reputation); there are (3) also no other articles that link to it. If you know of other solid independent sources with in-depth coverage of your life and/or work, you could perhaps mention them on the talk-page of the article; I or someone else would add them to the article if they seemed useful. There's some advice for people in your (not always easy) position here, which may be helpful. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:39, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of John Krubsack page

Hi I see that the page John Krubsack has be deleted but can't seem to find out why other than a vague issue about copyright. Also can't find any of the pages that should have been talking about the deletion to see what the issue with it was. I don't want to recreate the article again until I find out what was wrong with the last one. Could you please enlighten me as to what was the issue/s and where is the deletion pages/discussions are for both John Krubsack and related talk pages. Thanks Blackash (talk) 19:54, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Blackash! John Krubsack was blanked and listed here on 30 December because of an unusual copyright problem: permission under the GFDL was received in 2009 for text copied into the article from a book by Richard Reames, but that licence was at the time no longer acceptable here, and the permission should not have been accepted; the text was effectively a copyright violation. I deleted the page about a month later as all revisions of the page were affected, and no viable rewrite had been proposed. You are welcome to re-create it; I can restore the skeleton of the article (infobox, images, categories, references, but no running text) if that would be helpful – just let me know. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:31, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Thanks for this info. Could you please restore the skeleton of the article to my sandbox page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Blackash/sandbox Blackash (talk) 11:32, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Blackash, I've restored it, but for attribution reasons have put it at User:Blackash/John Krubsack, hope that works too. When it's ready for mainspace you can move it (or ask someone else to), which will preserve the earlier history of the page. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:59, 6 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's great thank you. Blackash (talk) 15:25, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I am extremely sorry for messing up with acceptances/rejections on AFCPending. I clearly understand that I may have disrupted the work of experienced editors; However, My Intention was not to disrupt wikipedia's standards.

He's back here [2] and at multiple other WPs and Wikidata as 151.20.125.224. Also as Giudice71 at Commons. See Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by Giudice71

Best, Voceditenore (talk) 18:31, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, VdT! Well, of course it couldn't last ... Yes, I saw your revert at Imperial Knight, and blocked that IP yesterday for a good long time. It has a good number of edits on it.wp as you've presumably seen, not sure who to alert now that AttoRenato is no longer active. Vituzzu, is this something you might have time to look at (block evasion by globally-locked editor)? Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:01, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Even worse than the edits on Italian WP, are his extensive and no doubt spurious/erroneous edits to WikiData [3]. The alter egos of 151.20.125.224, i.e. 151.20.21.172 and 151.20.7.153 were blocked for a week on Wikidata in 2018 and for 3 months in 2019 and all edits there reverted. I'm minded to leave a message on their equivalent of ANI about this new incarnation.
Meanwhile, another sock account, User:ProvinciaArchiv, has appeared at Commons (no edits here yet). See Commons:Deletion requests/File:ALDO NATOLI.jpg. And another utterly non-notable Lierna personality to watch —Giorgio Buizza (deleted on Italian WP but surviving on the Esperanto one). Best, Voceditenore (talk) 09:05, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Update: See Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard#Reporting 151.20.125.224. And a new filing at Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/Alec Smithson. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 10:33, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The socks at Commons (User:ProvinciaArchiv and User:Giudice71) have been indef blocked there. The IP has now been blocked for 6 months at Wikidata. I've again reminded them to check and/or mass revert his edits as none of them can be trusted. Not sure if they'll bother—one of the big problems with Wikidata. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 09:11, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I saw that, VdT – I went to add my 2p where necessary, and saw that it wasn't needed. I wish I knew whether a global rollback would be able/prepared to mass-revert each of these socks as they come along – perhaps I'll ask. Thanks yet again for keeping on top of this, regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:43, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Advertising

Hello! Something on my watchlist led me to your comment here, where you mentioned only a few weeks ago that ocula.com is a paid placement service that will advertise a gallery for $125. What is interesting is that when I went to the site, the $125 had been removed. It was there late last year, per the Internet Archive. So the $125 was removed after your comment, about three weeks ago! Looking around, I see lots of ocula.com sources, and at least one other editor adding ocula.com links. For example, the anselmi editor User:Turtleduck133, and User:Cactusing. What do you think? Seems like a concerted effort to me.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 05:30, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, ThatMontrealIP! Well, that's quite funny – but hard to believe they changed their website because of something I wrote? I'm still sure it isn't the kind of source we should be using, any more than those other paid-content sites masquerading as edited content – artsy, artnet, the fake Saatchi (saatchiart?) and so on. There seem to be more than 200 links to Ocula (plus about 40 to the http: address), so removing them would be quite a task. I suppose the best thing would be to see if consensus can be established to deprecate these damned things. I'll look at the contribs of those two editors; in general, if you see anyone spamming this or any other website, do let me know. Doveman (Thomas Bartlett)

Hello, Justlettersandnumbers,

I had a question from two editors about a page you redirected which was subsequently deleted. Could you respond at my talk page? I wanted to hear from you before restoring the page. Thank you very much. Liz Read! Talk! 02:06, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Pearl of Peace EV

Hi @Justlettersandnumbers:, I see that you have deleted the page Pearl of Peace EV. However, I had contested the deletion with an extensive response on why the page should not be deleted. Can you please provide me an update on why it was deleted? The reason, as I can see it right now, that it was previously deleted and so it must be deleted again doesn't seem just. I had no access to the previous article draft, so I created the page from scratch when I found it as a topic of interest in the WikiProject Equine. I found reliable and independent references, enough to create a stub at least, and published the page. Thanks for your time. FelixtheNomad (talk) 17:22, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, FelixtheNomad, I deleted it as "a page that was previously deleted via a deletion discussion, is substantially identical to the deleted version, and any changes do not address the reasons for which the material was deleted". I saw your contestation, but was not convinced by it; in particular, the Times source you "found" was already in the article when it was previously discussed and deleted. You can if you wish list it for review at WP:Deletion review. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:05, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for your response. Can you please, in the meantime, share the draft with me, so I can work on it, dig deeper, and if I find more sources for it, publish it through AfC? Thanks! FelixtheNomad (talk) 15:11, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Justlettersandnumbers:, You’ve deleted an article named ‘Pearl of Peace EV‘. It was originally created by a paid editor and deleted. Then it was re-created by a non-paid editor, FelixtheNomad. He provided me with reliable and independent sources which has made me believe that the article meets Wikipedia’s notability standards. He also claims to have solved the issues which partially were the reason of it’s deletion. Could you restore the article? If not, could you explain the reason and share the deleted draft with FelixtheNomad so he can work on it in the meantime. Thanks, Rodrigo Valequez (talk) 19:05, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BioSerenity (page translation)

Hello, Justlettersandnumbers, I just added the modifications you recommended about the translation. Since I have a conflict of interest about the topic, I'm not supposed to move the page from draft to article, is that correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaheris fils de lot (talkcontribs) 14:54, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Gaheris fils de lot, that's right. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:39, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you are so obsessed with trying to remove my contributions to the Cirque du Soleil show pages I've edited in the past due to "copyright issues and unsourced material". I recommend you stop blaming me for "bringing up unsourced material" on those pages. Also, I need to mention that there are no copyright issues on the Corteo page, and that you need to bring back the revisions that you deleted from the Toruk – The First Flight page. Besides, you and Dorsetonian's actions towards the Cirque du Soleil community are unacceptable.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Matthew250 (talkcontribs) 00:07, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Matthew250! I explained my reasons for those edits in the messages I left on your talk-page, which I see you've deleted. If you think I'm mistaken you can start a discussion on the relevant talk-pages, or if you are sure that my edits are "unacceptable", lodge a complaint here. But you might discover that other editors find that what is really unacceptable is the long-term campaign of promotional editing of those articles by the "Cirque du Soleil community". About the recently deleted articles created by me

Hello, Justlettersandnumbers. Recently I was under investigation and got banned for Sock puppetry, but I had unblock request which was accepted by the admin per conditions I agreed. You could look to my talk for more information. While I was banned, some of my articles were pinned and later deleted under the G5 rule, but the articles were fine and I would like to ask you for a second review now, since I was banned then and I couldn't dispute the note. You have deleted Hristo Ivanov (footballer, born 2000), but the article is meeting WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL as the player have played in a fully professional league and have all the needed sources claiming it, so the article should be returned. Hope Productions is another article you have deleted, but I believe it meets the criteria for notability and I would like to be returned for discussion, because I believe it would be found for notable and be kept. The article Aashna Chopra was the 3rd you deleted after it was proposed for deletion. The article was already under discussion and was decided to stay in Wikipedia as found notable. I believe my G5 violation should not change this fact and I would ask to be returned or to be discussed again. I’m eager to receive your feedback and if you need any addition information, feel free to ask me, i'll gladly reply. Best Regards, Chris Calvin (talk) 00:18, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Chris Calvin! I've taken some time to review this, and I'm not prepared to to restore those pages, mostly for two reasons: your prohibition from creating articles in mainspace might extend to this request (I'm not comfortable with doing for you something that you may not do yourself); and the promotional tone and strong appearance of paid editing in two of them – a continuing concern about your edits which I see that others share. I've no objection to any other admin restoring them, of course. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:59, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your respond, Justlettersandnumbers. As I said, these articles are created by the rules and got the check by other admins or clearly cover the rules, so should I just go for recreating it and put them on check at WP:AFC submissions or wait for admin to recheck? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to elude the rules, by asking you to just restore them, i'm totally fine to be reviewed again, but they were reviewed for promotional tone and were find fine, but they got deleted because of my Sock puppetry case. Draft:Dewesoft

Hello! I am writting to you regarding the Dewesoft Draft you have deleted from my sandbox (31.january 2020; I haven't recived a notification about the deletion, so I am writing to you now) I am an university student and I have mandatory internship at the selected company (Dewesoft). At univerity we got the task to write a Wikipedia article about the company and brand we work whith. The article I have submitted to your site has been reviewed and approved by the professors of the university and I wish this article to be published on Wikipedia as well. I would like to resubmit the article again if you would be so kind to help me with your guidelines. I need to know which parts are problematic in the deleted draft and how can I improve in writting this submission. If it's possible I would also like the access to the deleted draft. With kind regards, Flavijus — Preceding unsigned comment added by Flavijus (talkcontribs) 09:26, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Flavijus! I've moved your message to the bottom of this page, as is our custom here. Your draft was (correctly) nominated for deletion for violation of our copyright policy – swathes of content were copied directly from here; you should have received notification of that (from the reviewer, not me), I'm not sure why you didn't. It was also unacceptably promotional in tone (stuff like "committed to the highest standards of quality for development and manufacturing processes" has no place in an encyclopaedia). I can't restore a copyright violation, but I can if you wish restore the bare bones of the page – infobox, references, categories etc, but without the running text. Let me know if that would help. Oh, and please make a suitable disclosure of your conflict of interest on your user page, User:Flavijus. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:03, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
